Food was mediocre, the food wasn't hot it was at room temperature. Customer service was mediocre too. The service was not good, i had to yell over the obnoxious loud music and everyone else, they were not wearing gloves, they were rude, they don't make anything fresh, the crab ragoons were gross and stale. I honestly don't recommend this place to anyone whether it be lunch or dinner time, and I have encountered better service and HOT food on the west coast where I am from. I want a manager to call/contact me about this rating, so that way I can tell how crappy everything was for my first time going to this very establishment. By the way, i could of been a food critic and you guys would of never known. And who goes without ICE in there machinery, that was a HUGE disappointment, and i never bothered to get a refill of any type. I ordered lunch at the drive through and paid with a new gift card, and the window worker spent a minute ringing me up before telling me the gift card wasn't activated, which is strange because I know how gift cards get rung up and this seemed extremely unlikely. However, I had no choice so I paid with credit card, but later I checked the gift card balance on the Panda website to see if it said something like "gift card number invalid," but it actually told me that the gift card was valid and had been used, meaning that I was double charged (gift card and credit card). I would give this employee the benefit of the doubt, but I have no clue how this could be a true mistake. read more

There was no ice and they never refilled the ice machine after being told, had to request it behind the counter. Haven't had Panda Express in years and I definitely remember why. Food is subpar but the service was nice and fast. I ordered the cheese rangoons and honey sesame chicken with fried rice. The cheese rangoons are terrible lol, stay away. They have a tangy artificial taste that just doesn't taste good at all. They were very hot and crispy though which made them easier to eat with some sweet and sour sauce . The honey sesame chicken and fried rice both tasted like they had been sitting under a warmer. Rarely have I ever left a review such as this. I'm not sure what exactly is going on with this location but I just picked up dinner for my family and the two chicken eggrolls are way overcooked. Also the cheese rangoon are burnt. Last but not least, I picked up two large à la carte items. These were premium items mind you. The boxes are nowhere near even remotely being full. With as much as I paid for these, I would've expected more. I don't expect you to cram the takeout box full of food but I would like it even remotely close to the top. As you can see from the clean sides on the box, it's not like the food settled. Is this what is the norm now? Each one of these large boxes was $15. Not impressed and will not be back. I'm a huge Panda Express fan and was happy to see another Birmingham location open up. I've only visited this location right around 11 when they open and don't have any complaints. The food has always been good (it's Chinese fast food ...I don't go here expecting a gourmet meal). The staff has always been friendly as well. The worst part about this location (and it's nothing to do with the actual restaurant) is that there's no traffic light outside of the area where this restaurant is located. Literally the worst Panda Express location. September 2022 and dining room is still closed due to "staffing shortages." There are no staffing shortages, just lousy management. I really wanted to like this place. Unfortunately I can't. I've tried it multiple times and every single time something has been wrong. Ask for fried rice, get white. Ask for brown rice, get fried. Ask for teriyaki chicken, get orange chicken. And if it's not something wrong on the order, it's that they are out of a dish or it'll take 7+ minutes to prepare it. In regards to the food... It's mediocre at best. Most dishes are sweet on sweet. The broccoli beef has almost no beef and the black pepper chicken was way too peppery. I've had that dish elsewhere and it's peppery but not so much it chokes you. The chow mein was actually good the very first time I got it. The other times it was incredibly dry. Considering that Chinese food doesn't take long anyway it's insane how long it takes to get food in the drive thru. This company has over 1900 stores world wide. I have wanted to try them since I first learned about them in the late 1990s. I was shocked and not for the best way. While the food is edible and cheap per se I've had better. The fortune cookies were not crisp like most places. It took real jaw strength to eat it. It was like eating paper.
