One of the better fast food establishments I've been to! They keep it pretty clean and customer service is friendly. When I order online they actually pay attention to the special instructions section. Even for a half Chinese person I'm pretty satisfied with the panda food. Kung pao chicken is better than some authentic places trying to make western food. The upgraded steak entree also pretty good and I like that all the meats are quite lean. I haven't eaten at Panda Express in a very long time. Probably more than a decade so take this review for what it's worth in that I'm no Panda Express aficionado. Nonetheless, my nephew wanted some of their Chow Mein, so off we went. It's sort of surprising this Panda Express is doing so well when there is so many good Chinese food spots in the Hacienda Heights and Rowland Heights area, but if you were looking for more "Americanized" Chinese food, I can see why you'd want to go here, since there aren't a lot of those types of places here. Anyway, overall, I wasn't very impressed with their Chow Mein and Chicken Teriyaki. Last week we came and their payment system was having issues. The guy at the window explained and was very apologetic. I recommend trying the cream cheese rangoons with sweet and sour sauce if you got extra room for some side appetizers. I'm only giving 4 stars because we didn't get any fortune cookies (a signature of Panda's) and utensils/napkins, despite specifically asking for utensils and napkins through the ordering site. Panda Express was my go to place for quick good Chinese food. I remember eating here everyday after school when I was I high school. My go to was always the orange chicken with either the chow mein or the fried rice. Panda Express has grown to include more dishes and choices for us customers. One of the new thing that they have is their version of a burrito. They call it Bing, which is a scallion wrap tortilla with your choice of entree and friend rice or chow mein I got the orange chicken with friend rice, I as adding the toppings of crispy wonton strips, cucumbers, sweet n sour sauce. The burrito was good, with some added chili sauce. My wife got the orange chicken bowl wit chow mein and it brought back memories of when she was back in college. I ordered a order of spring roll and a boba. The attendant told me the total came out to something ridiculous like $18.23. So when I finally drove up to the window and was ready to inquire about the detail charges, he told me I apologize for the wait and claimed that the boba was on the house. When I got the receipt, I just noticed that he charged me correctly and I did in fact pay for the boba as well with a total of around $14. When I got home, the food, oh the food, the horror. The steamed rice tasted stale or under cooked. The broccoli was half raw and even the orange chicken tasted old. How can you f*&k up orange chicken, it's the only thing edible there! tldr: This is by far the worst Panda Express in within 20 miles. If you want this type of food and have another Panda within range or even a "Whatever" Wok; go there instead! I'll keep this short. My family was very happy when this Panda was first built and we went there a lot. Food was fresh and good, kid's loved it, all was great. Things have really changed though and I am guessing it's a management issue as it is consistently very bad. This review is not even about portion size or cost as I know that for reasons of Bidenomics® and crazy California portion size is an issue at all Panda's and restaurants. The issue is the food quality and freshness. The place seems clean enough and never really experienced major issues with the staff, but the food quality and freshness are just consistently really bad. We go so rarely now and it's usually followed by "We are never going there again." but after some period of time for some reason we roll the dice, give in and give it another go, but after this last trip this week that's it and I made this yelp account just to post this review. The soup had a strange taste (probably old, but who knows), the string beans were mushy, the kung pao tasteless and even the orange chicken was soggy and just bad. So I went to buy lunch before heading back to work and after placing my order at the drive thru, the guy told me that my total was $28.58. When I got to the window to pay for my food he told me my total was $38.58. At first I thought he may have misread my total, but when I got my receipt and checked the total, it was $38.58. After waiting a good 5 minutes at the drive thru, they completed the refund but didn't give me a copy of the receipt because "They need to keep it to submit for reasoning of processing a refund." I took a picture of the refund receipt for my own records to make sure that I am getting reimbursed. I'm not against donating money but if I didn't agree to it then I should've never been charged for it. No, this Panda has an "Innovation Kitchen", and the menu is way better vs the normal, Americanized Panda. This special location is near the ultra-busy intersection of Colima & Azusa in Hacienda Heights near Puente Hills Mall. I was in the hood, and my foodie Taiwanese buddy asked me to meet him here. We had the BING (scallion pancake wrap reminiscent of street food in Taiwan according to my Taiwanese friend), and a Chinese chicken salad. The BING has chicken, rice and fresh veggies wrapped into a portable meal. Its way better vs that abomination a sushi burrito. The chicken was moist and seasoned nicely, and the texture of the other ingredients worked very well together: 5 Stars for ingenuity and bringing Taiwanese street food mainstream. Secondarily, the Chinese chicken salad wasn't your garden variety bland white chicken breast on top of iceberg lettuce, then buried with packaged fried won tons, and drowned in dressing that kicks your salad to 1,000 calories. The chicken is actually the star of this dish. It was nicely seasoned & grilled well, and the salad includes slices of mandarin orange. If you go light on the dressing, you actually have a healthy meal: 5 Stars for creating an edible Chinese chicken salad. The ambiance includes a "Tea Bar" so you don't have to go diagonally across the street to 85C and wait in line forever with all the FOBs that frequent 85C. The Tea Bar is a nice touch to a unique location. Likewise, the service is actually friendly vs most fast food places: Both 5 Stars.
