Abysmal service! My husband was nice enough to pick up food on his way home from work for us & we live a half hour away. I ordered online because he had problems in the drive thru last time. This time was even worse! They gave our online order to doordash for some reason & said the screenshot of the order with the time and order number on it were not enough confirmation?! Upon walking in I walk into the front employees being very unprofessional talking to each other secretively. I did also notice they were looking at me and would continue their gossip. The food is ok I just wish the portions were much more lol. The employees tend to be overly comfortable with the customers and it makes me feel uncomfortable. Portions are noticeably smaller than they used to be, prices have gone up, you can't get a kids sized soda with the kids meals anymore (you're locked into apple juice or water), and the kids meals come with a bag of apple crisps - one of which we realized was open when got to the table. My kids who have always loved Panda didn't care for the chow mein - I don't mind some veggies in there but it was over the top. Service was pleasant, although the wait was longer than it should've been given the number of folks in the place. I don't think we'll be back anytime soon. We've ordered online several times during the lost pandemic year -- always just my wife's favorites, the teriyaki chicken and chow mein. Usually no problems, but yesterday, when we went to pick up our online order, which we'd been told would be ready in fifteen minutes, we had to wait in a car line for another fifteen minutes, and when we pulled up to the window the girl there wanted to bill us and give us something we hadn't ordered. Then she said our food wasn't quite ready yet; it would be ready in two minutes, so I should park and go inside. I did that. The employees paid no attention. Not till half an hour later (when my wife and four-year-old had fallen asleep in the car) was our order ready. I placed an online order and paid for it on the app. Once I got to the store to pick up they informed me they don't have the kind of entree I ordered, and they also said they couldn't give me a refund. If you look up how to get a refund online it says the store manager should give you one, so the Iowa City store manager basically refused to do his job and give me a refund. So disappointed! I have been to several Panda Express locations and waited once or twice for a item. However, at this location we had to wait for rice, veg's and two entrees. We should have checked the food before we left... Why am I saying that? Well, I am so glad you asked... The carrots and broccoli in my veg's were crunchy, and hard. The teriyaki sauce was over-cooked and thick... With chicken pieces cut larger than usual. My daughters Beijing beef, beef pieces were tough and chewy. Not what we experienced at other Panda Express locations. The onions in mushroom chicken were larger than normal... She had to pick them out, as not to crunch on them, which would overwhelm the flavor of the food. It seemed the workers were not communicating and several people were waiting... The manager seemed to be trying, however, it was obviously help is needed here. The location had several General Tso advertisements, but they were out. When we left we could see the drive thru line had 4-6 cars waiting. You would need to plan 20 minutes for a visit... This location is definitely not a positive representation of a Panda Express...Express being the operative word here. read more

Fast service and clean restaurant. I like the angus steak. I have been at this location a few time. Their drive trough also quite fast, less than 3 minutes. They always give you sample no matter if you ask for sample or not. It is a quick and cheap way to eat off interstate. read more

Generally I enjoy panda, but this time was different. I waited over 45 minutes for mixed veggies and they continued to serve other customers the entrees I ordered without putting them with my order. ZERO STARS is my actual rating. Worst. Customer. Service. Ever! I went through the drive thru about 20 minutes ago. My order took a little longer than I would would have expected for fast food, but that wasn't my biggest complaint. When I received my food, I opened the container and the egg rolls were burnt. I mentioned it to the server in the drive thru and she said: "that's just the way they look" and added "they actually look pretty good". I must have given her a dissatisfied looks and she then stated, "well it will take 8 minutes for more". So, I kept the egg rolls and vowed I would never go back. I decided to contact a manager. So I called and asked for one. I spoke with someone who called himself "John". He acted like he was concerned and then said "I don't tolerate that. They are gonna be in trouble." He then asked for the name and I read it odd the receipt. The phone then went dead. I called back and a female voice answered. I asked for "John" and she said they didn't have someone by that name. I then asked for a manager. She put the phone down and no one ever came to the phone. I will never, and I mean never ever go back. I would advise my Yelping friends to avoid this location. This review is based off of a return visit. I'm upset that I have to write this because I enjoyed very much my first visit. We are visiting from another state for my birthday week. I looked it up online to see what time they closed and it said 9:30. We went here last night 7/11/2019 for my birthday. We arrived at 9:00pm. I went to the drive thru and there was a car in front of me and I could hear her trying to order, and the person taking her order kept telling her that they didn't have what she wanted finally she got frustrated with them and drove off. When I pulled up I asked right off hand if they had any orange chicken and teriyaki chicken. I was told yes to one and no to the other. I said how is it that you don't have the food and you are supposed to be opened until 9:30? Another voice came in and said if you want to wait we can make it for you, then another voice came on and said no we can't we closed the grill already then they bickered amongst themselves and then one said oh well, I guess we can't. So I told them that, that was ridiculous and I wanted the name of the manager to which someone responded, you can call in the morning. I drove to the window and told them no, you are still open and I would like you to give me the name of the manager and the phone number. Then they sent a young girl to the window and she said that she was the shift lead. I said to her, how is it that you all are supposed to be open until 9:30 and you have no food? She said after 9 we make it to order so that we don't waste food. I said to her but, you guys won't make my food because someone said that the grill is shut down, she said well I didn't know they shut the grill down early. I asked her who is the manager? She said she was, I asked her how is it that, that happened and you as the manager didn't know? I also told her if you are the manager how is it that the employees are telling you what to do??? Completely disappointed in the drive thru service. I ordered a bigger plate only got 2 entrees out of 3 a completely wrong side. The 2 entrees were cold only half of them were barely even warm as if they weren't kept in the warmer. Chinese fast-food is about as detailed of a description as I care to give this. Subpar flavors, long wait time, average selection and friendly (but sometimes painfully awkward) employees. They really need to tend to their outside appearance of the building more, I remember driving over the same spoon in their drive-thru a week and a half after the first day it was there. Also their doors are locked at 9PM so I'm not sure if they're open or closed because people keep going through the drive thru even though they're cleaning out their pans by then and it doesn't really say if they're closed or open. read more

I really like Panda Express food. But the service there was terrible tonight. I've got my food and am waiting to pay. While the manager was on her cell phone she is telling the girl not to put in the money draw. So there is one other girl there that is doing the drive up but can not ring up my food (not sure why). So I wait and I wait for someone to come so I can pay for the food. If this was for me and not my son I would of walked out. So after 5 minutes or longer, the manager gets off her cell phone rings up the food doesn't say one word about sorry for the wait or anything. Then she hands me my change and gives me the bag on the way home which is 2 hours away I realize she didn't give me all my change. Will never go there again. May 7th around 9pm. I asked for the bigger plate but they didn't have the side I wanted so I asked if I could just get the 3 entrees. Apparently I broke the system. The woman had no idea what to do as if she was a deer in head lights. She had to ask another worker and she was told to give me three small containers. The amount of food I received was deplorable. She gave it to the cashier who then charged me for each container rather than the bigger plate price. Instead of $8 it was $11. I asked her but of course she wouldn't know. Aside from being annoyed for the price difference for such little food,I was livid because of the principle. Why would you charge more money for a customer not wanting a side and ultimately receiving less food? Because of the almighty wise decision made by another who is not fully aware of the situation?
