Over a 20 minute wait time for our food on a Saturday during the lunch hour. Understandable if they were busy. Almost all entre items were not ready with the exception of their Orange Chicken. Having an employee walk-in the front door with his lunch from Sonic wasn't reassuring. read more

This evening ordered two bowls with an entree on top. The server realized there was just one spoon of fresh vegetables so she scrapped the container clean, took that one serving and divided it between the two bowls. Then she put one spoonful of entree on top of each bowl of vegetables, filling each so it was two thirds full. When asked about the short servings, she said that recently there had been too much over-portioning and what we were getting was a right-sized portion. Our mini-portion, still cost the normal $7.00. Caution to anyone ordering food at this store! If you get mini-portioned, just refuse the food. You won't be missing much. read more

I had stopped eating at the Panda Express in Topeka due to various issues I have had with tgem recently. It just didn't make since time eat there any longer. After work today was meeting a friend who I share a cell phone plan with at the AT&T on Iowa St. I was kind of excited about there being a Panda Express there. After I was done at AT&T i went to Panda and in retrospect I should have left when I walked in. There were out of Fried Rice and Chow Mein. I finally got up to order. I ask about how long on the Chow Mein? The nice young lady at the counter says about 7 minutes. I wanted a bowl with sweet fire chicken. The had maybe just enough for a bowl but it looked old and soon enough I would have to wait. I asked how long do oils it take for fresh sweet fire and was told 7 minutes. They had me go to the end of the counter and pay. I also order a coke as I was going to have a bit of a wait. I was asked if I would like my receipt and said no. I waited about 10 to 15 minutes and see the more food is coming out so I ask about my food. They inform me that it's 7 minutes from when they start cooking and they hadnt started cooking the sweet fire yet. In fact it appeared they are just now putting the chicken in the frier. I asked for a refund as if I had been told it would be a 25 to 30 minute wait I would have just left and not bothered to order. The manager who didn't even apologize for the wait or not being toons the right amount of time did offer to give me something else or give me a free side. I just wanted my money back for my food do I could leave. Since I didn't have my receipt and he said he couldn't refund me. I said that's fine I'll dispute the charge since you didn't provide me with my food and I would like your corporate number as I would like them to be made aware of this. He gave me some receipt paper with the survey number on it. I found that was an automated survey which I couldn't do unless I had a receipt. I found a phone number and got a customer service agent at there corporate. She apologized and said she would get with there accounting department to see if the could locate my order and get me a refund. I needed to give her the last 4 digits of my card number. She said she would either email me or call me once she could figure something out. And told me the manager should have been able to look up my receipt so that they could do the refund. So I am unimpressed with the store but at least corporate customer service is good. Since I just keep having bad experiences I won't bE eating there any more. I originally thought the issue was with the Topeka store but know I know I either have terrible luck with them or it's just bad management all around. So I'll just stay away from now one. I'm going to really miss sweet fire chicken though So I spoke to customer service on Monday night, it's now Thursday afternoon and I have not received any emails or calls from It's now Monday 1 week later. Still no response. I called again and they are going to resubmit it to Accounting as they haven't had any response. So it's kind of bad all the way around. read more

The food here was pretty good for a fast food chain restaurant. The service person seems very unhappy to be serving there, and the staff in the back were being so loud they ruined my meal. The manager really needs to do their job and reprimand those staff members. I would would recommend here if you just order and leave or sit outside. TL:DR Food was good, service was bad. We used to love the Panda Express here in Lawrence! Seems like the last couple times we've been it was overly busy, garbage piled sky high in the garbage cans and no food to serve one visit. Decided togo again a few days later thinking they were just busy and overwhelmed... No one was in the restaurant as far as customers, no food to serve, we had to wait on everything we ordered. What was prepared was old or overcooked! We received a free drink for our long wait for our food, sad thing was the freshly cooked food was under cooked, our egg rolls were over cooked after we asked for fresh ones and the food was just not very good at all. The staff was mostly just standing around doing nothing while there were over half the items not even available... Sigh... Disappointing to say the least! read more

I love the many varieties of food, and it's always fresh and delicious. The employees were very friendly - as always, they greeted me with a smile and a cheerful hello. They offered me samples of the food I hadn't tried before, and filled my order quickly and accurately. The cashier asked me if I wanted any extras like sauces and fortune cookies. I love your affordable prices, and I recommend Panda Express to all my friends. The service was awful, I do not think I have ever been to an establishment that had workers that could care less about their jobs. There was only one employee serving food to the line... and she was taking her time, even with the line out the door. All four other workers were in the back on their phones. One was even ordering Starbucks, WHILE THE LINE WAS OUT THE DOOR. I didn't even get a "sorry for the wait" comment, it was great food, but not a great staff. read more

I travel a lot and Panda Express is my go-to place when I need a Chinese food fix. I like Panda Express because it's consistent all around the country. Except for this place in Lawrence. This is the third time in a row I've been here for dinner (6:00-7:00) and they were out of noodles and several entrees with no plans in making more. No sweetener for tea either. It may be okay for lunch, but lower your expectations if you're there for dinner. read more

I realize this is Panda Express and not a 5 star dining but when you enter a Panda Express at 4pm on a Sunday when there is only 2 other people eating you expect a cleaner dining area. When I entered PE, there were 5 employees all talking no working. The dining area looked like there was a food fight with so much food and trash on the floor and every table was dirty. I had to clean off my own table with a wet napkin. A mother and daughter came in after me, they told one employee all the tables were dirty and rather than go clean the table himself, he hands the mother a wet rag to clean her table off and keep in mind there are 5 employees working. They were loud and joking around but couldn't be bothered to clean. I ate inside the restaurant and the whole time not once did anyone clean and it was NOT busy. I understand from working fast food if its busy you can't always clean but once it is not busy send someone out to wipe down the booths and sweep and mop. They definitely need more management or better management. The food was what you expect from PE. read more

I did not pay attention to the persons name tag that was helping me. The receipt says Wanyi Z?! If that is indeed the person that helped me from start to finish then he did a great job. There was a lady in front of me that was confusing the person helping her and the line started getting quit large. He stepped up took my order, fixed my to go plate, rang me up with a smile and kindness and continued helping the next customer, way before the lady was completed with her messed up order. Bad Service... I got a bowl but asked them to put it on a plate because I was eating in the restaurant. I specifically told them A PLATE please and that I don't use single use plastic. After requesting a plate the guy DOES NOT put my food on a plate .... OR A BOWL, but rather, a STYROFOAM CONTAINER. I was incredibly upset, as I don't use stryo either and I had asked for a plate. He said that he would happy to put it on a plate for me and yet then he didn't. Then when I went to pay the woman asked me something and I couldn't hear her because they were cooking something loudly behind her and so I asked what she said. She then said whatever it was in the same quiet voice even though I told her I couldn't hear her. She then failed to give me my change.
