My first time using a Panda Express with a drive thru. It was a lot faster than waiting in line but the entree portions were minuscule compared going in. I blame myself. If I had just gone in the staff could have seen my excitement as the Orange Chicken and Mongolian Beef were scooped onto my tray. And seeing that excitement, they would have surely given me heaping mounds of each instead the half scoops that are rationed from the drive thru. I'll definitely go back, I love the Orange Chicken too much not to, but I'll never gamble on the drive thru again. read more

I have had Panda Express many times at different locations and have always be very pleased. However, this particular store didn't have one of the menu items and I was told they weren't making any more today. I changed my order to the Pepper Chicken and the pan was almost empty. She scraped what she could from the pan. When I got to my hotel to eat it there were only 2 small pieces of chicken. Very disappointed!! read more

Generally I give panda express good reviews because overall no matter what store I go to in a matter what state is located in I get the same consistent and good food and that's why I go there. And my trip to this location today was not any different except for one minor speed bump which I've never encountered before in any of these restaurants. I always go online and do their survey so that I can get a code and receive a free entrée at this time is no different except the person at the drive-through window told me that my code was over two years old and I couldn't use it and she just crumbled up my receipt with the code on it and threw it away. I knew my receipt was all I didn't realize it was that old however there's nothing on the receipt nor on their website where you do the Feedback survey that says the survey code ever expires. I think it was just a misunderstanding or panda express needs to update their receipts and their website to reflect that the code expires at some point. And I think it be best to give the customer the discount and then tell them in the future that it expires after a certain amount of time rather than just saying I can't use it and throwing it away. I've been to Panda Express across this country, and this is hands down the worst service we ever received. I literally only gave two stars because the food was good. I grasp that Panda is higher priced fast food. But if I get a Panda bowl, you could put more than half a scoop of meat. The server barely spoke, hardly paid attention, and told the customer behind us in a rude way that he'd have to wait ten minutes for that entree and should just pick something else. Why you would let her be the main point of contact with customers is beyond me, no wonder she covers her name tag. Your cashier Evan is barely aware or concerned with customers. We stood in line over 20 minutes, and as our food got cold, when we finally get to the cashier he says "do you need something?" Yes. My food???? The cooks can be heard saying "I don't care" "tell them they're gonna have to wait" and are too busy chatting to be bothered making any food. When she yelled to them what she needed, they asked anyone waiting? And then would continue their conversation. There was honestly only one girl who had any customer service skills at all, and we weren't lucky enough to get to interact with her. I know we came during dinner time, but you're not even going to attempt to accommodate customers? There were three of us total in line. Why on earth would that take you 20 minutes to get through? Today around noon I went and was serviced by Mikayla... a tall Caucasian women with glasses. I asked her while walking in if dinning was open and she rolled her eyes at me when she let me know they were only open for pick up. Then her next line was "what do you want" with a nasty attitude. Then I proceeded politely ordering because she was clearly having a bad day. I tried to order a fountain drink and she asked me again with twice as much attitude "what do you want" so baffled I asked "um I'm not sure yet, do I still serve myself?" Her answer was "NO. Not all Panda Expresses are created equal. We've eaten at many Pandas up and down the coast. The only rude employee we've ever come in contact with is an Asian man who says he is the manager here in Mt. Vernon. Every time we've been in he has been curt, dismissive, and rude...as well as putting very small amounts on the plates in the entree areas. Today, when we arrived, they were out of chow mein, so I asked if we should wait to order since there was a line behind us. He said yes. So we patiently waited until the chow mein was available. A couple more people advanced through the line, and one gentleman asked if they had chow mein. Instead of answering, he huffed and went to the empty chow mein bowl and said "Does this look like I have chow mein?" while tipping the bowl towards the man! I was shocked! When the chow mein arrived, I gave him my order (2 different to go plates), and he went on to do several other people's orders before starting mine. When he got to my order, one was the walnut shrimp. He took shrimp from the container, but no walnuts, so I asked if I could have some walnuts too, and boy did he get pissed. Then, he did several other orders before coming back to mine. When he finished, he had made a mistake on the requested entrees. I asked him to correct it, and he said "That is exactly what you told me". I said "No, I think you were in a hurry so you forgot"...and he insisted that it was my error. I said "You know, I love the food here...but I am not very happy at how grouchy you are with customers. You are being rude!".....he then told me "Im not going to fix your order at all. You need to leave the premises"............ And that was that. I'm 70. Its not like this was a screaming match. I'm just a little old lady. I can only imagine what it is like to work for this guy. No wonder I never see an employee more than once. Its very sad there is not more than one Panda Express in Mt. Vernon. Obviously he knows he has a monopoly. What a nasty, angry man. read more

I have left the last three visits without ordering anything because they were out of items, and I mean basic items (chow mein 8 minutes wait, fried rice 20 minutes wait). 3 times in a row, without ordering, not a record you want for your restaurant. Either they've made some changes since the last several reviews I just finished reading or we were very lucky. My wife and I were very impressed with service and food. Friday, December 2nd (I think it was around 4 PM) we visited this Panda Express. Parking lot almost full, drive thru almost full. We went inside saw maybe 10 people in line waiting to order, one cook plus the manager cooking, one staff serving the counter line and she was also the cashier. Definitely looked shorthanded like maybe one or more called in sick, as it was pouring down rain outside all day. I did notice one other employee serving the drive thru. It was quite amazing really, watching the few employees moving very rapidly handling everything. Yes it took about 20 minutes to get up to counter for our turn but that gave us time to appreciate these four or five employees like an orchestra, cooking, moving, handing full metal bowls of food, fetching more food, serving customers who needed several boxes for take-out, never missed a beat. When it was our turn to order, the food dishes were full, the serving sizes were quite plentiful. The young lady serving us, having just finished serving 10 other families with no real end in sight after us, was very friendly and professional. We asked if it had been like this all day, pretty much she said. Very impressive service, very good food, well prepared and of course fresh, since it was not sitting long under the warmers. I came to this location and the hours on the door saids 10 am drive thru and 10:30 am restaurant. I was there at 10:25 I used the drive thru and no one was available and wait until 10:35 and the restaurant wasn't open. The manager in charge and the employees didn't want to open the door or explained to me if they have a problem or what time they will be open. We typically like Panda Express, but this one is no good. We've been twice and food has been sitting under the heaters for so long it's chewy and not fresh. Veggies are really bad. My change was dropped at the drive thru window and the young lady that dropped it just looked down and shut the window. I figured she would give me the change she dropped when she gave me my food. Then she hands me the food and when I bring up the change, she shuts the window in my face and turns her back on me, laughing. I called as I was pulling out to speak to a manager about it and the girl that answered the phone turns to someone and says "it's that lady about her freaking penny." She tried to tell me that the girl was getting me my penny and I just drove off. I sat there a good 30 seconds with the 3 pennies that made it into my hand so I could show her how much she dropped. I told her it was lots more than a penny and asked to speak to a manager. I was told the managers name was Cynthia and she would be in 15 minutes from now. Never been treated so bad in a restaurant in my life, the manager Dae Han was very rude to me and 2 of my friends since we walked in he kept saying that was very simple that he made a simple question as if we didnt answer it, even though we answered many times that was to be paid separate he kept sayin it was very simple over and over... as he saw we were not americans and as i asked for chop sticks after payment and i did not find them in counter with napkins or any forks. he said i had to wait for the costumer that was paying and i said i just wanted some chopsticks and he grabbed a cup asking me as if i didnt know how to speak english, he asked me step back as i got closer to point to the sticks, as if i was a threat to him or the customer he said i had to wait for him to finish again, i was there waiting for chopstick as my food was getting cold it was ridiculous i said sir ure being rude i just want some sticks and he said for me to lower my voice or he was gonna make me eat outside, i grabbed and said i wasnt gonna eat outside and he could call the police cause my friends were already sitting waiting.. and he did call. he didnt offer any drinks or sticks or forks to begin with while we were paying and all the time acting like we didnt deserve to be in his restaurant when the cops came he said we didnt have the right to be in his country.. I really like Panda Express and I have no complaints on the food, but I did not appreciate the way that one of the female staff members treated my friend and me. She just had rude body language. My friend went up to ask for a water cup, she sighed and rolled her eyes and when I went up to the counter to ask for two lids to take our food home with us, she looked at me and deliberately walked away. First off, I like Panda Express. As far as fast Chinese goes, it is usually pretty good IMO. This was the worst one I've ever been to. The Chow Mein was somehow both dry and greasy. I was there at 4:30 and it looked like all of the entrees were left from lunch, except for the orange chicken, which was okay and the only reason I'm giving it two stars instead of one. The place was clean, but that was the only positive. The egg rolls looked dried out, so didn't get those. Most of the entrees looked dried out. Almost left before ordering but I was really hungry and didn't want to go elsewhere. I would not go back to this Panda Express. read more

This place sucks has gotten me sick 5/5 times I've gone there food is cold and under cooked

First time ever in this place because my daughter wanted to go. Not exactly thrilled. If I had been out all day Christmas shopping and absolutely starving, I'd pop in for a single item bowl of whatever they had made. That being said, they were out or didn't have a full portion of anything I was interested in. The veggie side looked like something dragged out of the bottom of a college dorm room skillet of a hot plate. Nasty. They were out of noodles, the main reason my daughter wanted to go, we had to wait. I think maybe five or six employees were there? There were six customers in the place and two cars in the drive thru. Just after five thirty. Another customer gave up and left. No teriyaki, half a serving off the sezchuan cod, and everything was overly oily. The bottom of the container was covered in oil from the main "healthy" choice main entrees. The veggie rolls greasy and mushy inside, obviously gas station quality. The place was clean and tidy, and dinner wasn't overly expensive, which was only once they had food on the steam table. I'll give them a second chance sometime but not any time soon. read more
