So I went back after my first time there went poorly. I ordered a plate with a mix of white and fried rice. The fried rice seemed a bit dry and left out a bit too long while I wanted to get the vegetable side. However, they said "they didn't have the ingredients to make the vegetables that day." The entrees of orange chicken was okay but I was pleasantly suprised with how good the grilled cut up teriyaki chicken with the sauce was and recommend it to anybody wanting to try panda express. If you love Americanized Chinese fast foods then Panda express is the go to place. My husband (ABC) loves Panda Express so much that we had it catered for our wedding ceremony. From CA to along the East Coast, we'll stop at Panda Express whenever we see one. Kinda similar to the obsession w/ In n Out burger. This location was ok. We have been here many times because there aren't many around. There was a line the other day but the staff didn't show any sign of urgency. They just went through the orders really slowly, and the chef refilled the foods really slow too, lots of empty pans. Panda Express opened recently in the former Noodles & Co space in South Nashua, next door to b.good. Panda Express offers the standard Americanized Chinese food, which is cooked ahead of time and served cafeteria style. I've found Panda Express to be reliable for a quick fix of salty, sweet, and greasy AmChi food, mainly at mall food court locations across the country. The place was redone with a bright modern casual atmosphere which is an order at the counter place with ample self serve table seating. There are "chorks" (chopstick/fork combo) already at the tables. They also have self serve Coca Cola fountain drinks and ice tea. The pricing is typical for Panda Express, Bowl (1 entree/1 side) $6.60, Plate (2 entrees/1 side) $7.80, Bigger Plate (3 entrees/1 side) $9.30, but be warned if you choose beef or seafood (premium item) over the standard chicken choices, they charge $1.25 each per premium item. I stopped by for dinner takeout recently. They were offering samples to customers at random before ordering. I decided on the Bigger Plate (actually a box, starting at $9.30) and chose Black Pepper Chicken, Shanghai Angus Steak (add $1.25), Wok Steak & Shrimp (add $1.25) and vegetable fried rice, plus 2 spring rolls ($1.95). The total was $14.99 with tax and they were asking customers to round up their change to the nearest dollar and donate to the children's hospital (don't know if it's the local Boston Children's or CHAD???) They asked for my penny, to round up to $15. The vegetable fried rice with egg, carrots, peas, & onions was tasty and the spring rolls were crispy and filled with vegetables, slightly greasy. However, the three entrees were very salty and greasy. The pieces of beef steak were chewy, but at least not too tough. The wok steak & shrimp entree was mostly potatoes. The black pepper chicken was decent. The portions for each entree were small too, but plenty of fried rice (side choice). Overall, I was not impressed with the quality of the premium upcharged (extra $2.50) entrees (salty) served here. The food here is priced on the higher side for the area since the fast style Chinese food options in the nearby Pheasant Lane Mall food court are priced much lower ($6.59 for 3 entrees & 1 side at China City and $6.49 for 3 entrees & 1 side at Thailand Express). They may not have Angus beef there, but those options are still dependable. I will add that the Panda Express vegetable fried rice had more ingredients and was much tastier than the fried rice served at China City and Thailand Express in the mall. read more

Went in today and prob had one of the worst visits to date. Usually love Panda Express food esp for fast Chinese food but apparently this franchise location is trying to put itself under during a pandemic which has already proven difficult for restaurants and bars. If you don't want to be open or make money why hire the idiots you have running this place paying them not to work or cook your food. Again asked for an entree that wasn't behind the glass employee said they weren't making that today. Watched the trainee at the cash register stand there and do nothing and the one person trying to fill orders while I'm assuming the three other employees who came out of the back obviously juicing the clock and not working finally had to do something. Old empty entrees, missing entrees and mislabeled entrees. This place should literally run itself but somehow whoever owns it managed to find the absolute worst employees who seem to be hell bent on running this place into the ground. Do better. read more

Nothing was in stock at this location. I was planning on getting lunch here during peak hours, and they said they didn't have teryaki chicken available bc the chicken was "thawing" so I figured I'd try again later. I've been to Panda at several other locations and haven't experienced this, so I figured I'd give it another chance. Came back during dinner hours and still nothing was stocked. Anything that was available looked like it was hours old and wasn't really enough for a serving. The staff didn't seem bothered/apologetic or have any intention to stock the food again, so I left. The customer in front of me was also extremely disappointed due to the lack of selection and the appearance of the food, so she left too. Fresh and delicious. The chefs were all Asian and seemed to professionals at their jobs. They have IZZE brand bottle drinks at the counter and sell Pepsi products and Dr Pepper. On top if that she did not close two of the entrees properly and I had a mess when I got home. I mentioned it to her as she was preparing to bag my order and she just dismissed me. Usually I get the bigger plate and my wife and I can split it with left overs. This time had to go back and get another large entree and tell the girl to actually fill the box and not so it halfway like she did with my previous entree. They were also out of fortune cookies, large boxes and lids for cups. How do you run a restaurant like that. I've been to this Panda Express a few times, and each time I've been satisfied by the food and the service. The kids behind the counter are always friendly and helpful. They're always happy to let you try any item before you order. I'm not sure why this place has a rating of 2.5 stars, it's just a fast food style Chinese food, you can't expect 5 star food. If the food is fresh and the service is good, I personally can't complain. If I could give this place a zero, I would. The staff are rude and make you feel like you are inconveniencing them. They are not helpful at all. They are ALWAYS out of items and when you ask them if they could make more of a product they simply say, no. Even though there is a sign on the counter saying food will be made fresh if you ask. I ordered the black pepper steak and chow mein bowl which according to their menu, bowls are $7.00. The cashier charged me extra and when I asked why it costs more the cashier said, "Oh, she didn't tell you?" No she didn't tell me anything. So he was going to comp me and charge me the advertised price. The manager was called for the override and refused to honor what the cashier had offered. He came around and rushed me back to the display where I ordered to see this small price sign near the pepper steak. The problem is, the sign is not easily visible when looking down from the top of the display glad, one needs to bend down to see it. The manager was all to eager to have me cost something else. It was probably an honest mistake but I don't appreciate how poorly this was handled and how the manager came out to make a scene. Needs much better service... I want to update my review after sharing my experience with this Panda Express location. My family and I decided to give this spot another chance and we were pleasantly surprised! The food has been really good and most of all, the manager is really nice. He always talks to us when we come in and gave us a chance to try things that were spicy to make sure we would enjoy it. It's acceptable- you can tell the ingredients are fresh, and decent quality. The flavor is generic and the textures acceptable too. However, had I paid for it I wold have been dissatisfied. It's forgettable food- you want Asian and you're there, the price is decent- but so are the other local Asian places. Please consider passing this place up and supporting your local Asian community by eating at Golden Dragon, Mint, Lilac Blossom or SoHo. I have been to many Panda Express's over the years and this one is in the middle. This location portions vary on the person you get serving you. I had one bad experience here and unfortunately the customer service at corporate is way below par and the lady didn't care that i had a bad experience. The signage says fresh ingredients prepared daily, that false because the chicken used for the orange chicken is frozen and shipped in. Although they try for good customer service, stopping whatever you're doing with the customer you're serving just to say "Welcome to Panda" to people walking in is rude to the customer your with already. read more
