    the outside of a restaurant

I had dinner at ThaiLicious Asian Fusion (former Chiangmai Thai), which opened recently on Route 101A in Amherst. This casual Asian Fusion restaurant offers takeout and full service sitdown dining with booths and tables in the clean dining room which has dim lighting and hardwood flooring. After a long day at work, I decided to stop in at ThaiLicious for a Friday night sitdown dinner. The place was a moderately busy and I was promptly seated in a booth, given a dinner menu and a glass of cold water. The menu offerings were several pages offering plenty of Thai dishes plus some Vietnamese, Korean, Japanese and Chinese food too. They also serve Thai ice tea, beer and wine. There was one person doing hosting, taking orders in the dining room, and handling takeout orders. There was another person helping out with serving food. I started out with the Pork Dumplings ($8.95 plus tax), which were 5 small deep fried pork potstickers with soy sauce fro dipping and garnish. For dinner, the Tofu Green Curry ($15.95 plus tax) was served in a deep bowl with a mix of yellow squash, green peppers, red peppers, bamboo, carrots, baby corn, basil, onion, firm tofu in a green curry sauce, served with a side of steamed white rice. This dish was fresh with sweet and moderate spicy flavors. I prefer this dish not too spicy and some Thai restaurants will have ask your spice level when taking orders. The check was $27.02 with tax and before tip. Overall, the food was pretty good. The service was a bit delayed as the place was getting busier. The fried pork dumplings were served in 27 minutes after ordering and the tofu green curry 2 minutes afterwards. The main person here was handling things well despite being extremely busy as I left. I enjoyed the food here. I will definitely return here to try other food here including the Bibimbap and the Pad Thai which were the other choices I would have ordered.

Tom Yum Soup with Seafood and Rice Noodles

This restaurant recently reopened under a new name, but it is still owned and run by the same family. The restaurant is in an old 1920s building that has been extensively remodeled both inside and outside. The inside is very clean and nice. During the remodel, they removed the buffet section and added booths. Our hostess greeted us and quickly seated us in one of their new booths. The menu is on the small side for a Thai restaurant, but all of the favorites are there. My wife ordered the hot basil with tofu and I had the Tom Yum noodle soup with seafood and rice noodles. Our food was cooked to order and arrived 15 to 20 minutes later. My wife's hot basil dish was stir fried in an oil and had almost no traditional sauce flavor. Red pepper gave it some hotness. In fact the only taste it had was hot. The basil itself was tasteless. It was similar to a tofu and raw vegetables stir fry. She rated her dish as three stars. My dish was better than hers. It had nice chunks of seafood and the taste was good and hot. The appearance was somewhat plain and I felt it had too many rice noodles and not enough of the other Tom Yum ingredients. I gave mine three and a half stars. This restaurant has a lot of potential. It is located on a busy street and it is run by a very nice Thai family. With a little work, they can easily bring this up to a four or five star experience. Raise the prices if you need to pay for additional traditional Thai ingredients.

Tried to find something small. This is a gem!!! Place is very updated and clean with large bathroom. Food was amazing!!! I had the pink lady and it was off the hook great!!! No joke! My daughter had wonton me and the broth was flavorful, without being salty. We also had the pork dumplings and they were amazing as well. Can't say enough about this place... A hidden Gem!!!

We really enjoyed the food, especially the pad Thai. Friendly service in a nice, relaxed atmosphere. We'll go back for sure.

Saki was worst I've ever tasted. The pad Thai was so flavorless, it just wasn't good.

Everything was hot, fresh, and so flavorful. We tried Victoria's pick: Twice Sautéed Pork, Chris's pick: Diced Chicken with Cashew Nuts, Liam's pick: Beef with Broccoli, my pick: Prawn Amazing with stir-fried fresh al dente vegetables, and of course, steamed white rice. Every dish was cooked perfectly--the pork was tender and savory, the seasoned chicken with cashews had just the right crunch, the beef and broccoli in brown sauce was classic comfort, and the 6 large prawns cooked to perfection were a real standout with their mildly spicy, sweet, bold, delicious sauce. The portions were generous, everything traveled well, and it honestly felt like a restaurant-quality meal at home. Lilac Blossom in Greystone Plaza in Nashua is all about abundant portions, amazing flavors, and great quality. We highly recommend giving Lilac Blossom a try if you're craving excellent or consistently fresh and flavorful Chinese food in Nashua or South New Hampshire. We'll definitely be going back!

We got all the way home and realized there was no white rice at all. We spent over $100 on our spread so I feel a container of white rice isn't too much to ask for. WTF is one to do with the sauce from those meals if not put it over white rice? They are designed for white rice and we were annoyed. I think every restaurant is going down hill but this was a tough one.

The restaurant itself is stylish and intimate. The space boasts eye catching decor from neon signs and a mahjong tile doorway to big murals and light fixtures in the form of umbrellas and lanterns. The menu is printed to look and feel like a Hong Kong Hollywood newspaper which I also thought was really cool. The menu here is smaller and more focused than the one at the Kowloon, but I did see that it still offers a handful of the Kowloon's signature dishes. In the case of this restaurant, I definitely feel that the limited menu is essential to producing higher quality dishes. We shared a scorpion bowl cocktail for two, which was served in a cute beckoning cat drinking vessel. For food we got the scallion pancake, the General Gau's chicken and the Brussels sprouts. The food came out about ten minutes after we ordered which initially made me a little bit nervous about the food quality, but once we dug in we could tell that the food was quite fresh. The scallion pancake was nice and crispy on the outside, a little bit chewy on the inside and was served with a ginger sauce for dipping. The Brussels sprouts were prepared Kung Pao style with peanuts and a touch of chili pepper. The General Gau's chicken was fried well, coated in a delightfully sweet and spicy sauce and topped with crispy fried rice noodles. We are just about every morsel on the plates. We knew had to save a little room for dessert here when we saw that they serve a giant chocolate dipped fortune cookie that they smash apart with a mallet right at the table. Served alongside some ice cream, the giant fortune cookie is a super sweet and fun way to finish your time here. Additionally, it came as a pleasant surprise when our check came and it was not quite as high as we were anticipating, especially when you consider that the restaurant is housed inside of a casino. All in all, 9 Dragons left us with a great first impression. A great addition to the Seacoast.

The green papaya salad was strange had different (more) spices than most places. It's a dish I make at home several times a year and order out often. Tim thought it tasted more like kimchi... The shrimp we added were the best part. The Thom Kha was inedible, strangely salty, coconut milk separated and grainy, it tasted as strange as it looked. Thehicken had an odd texture. We sent it back and it was offered to be taken off the bill. It didn't taste like any other Thom kha I've ever eaten. The green curry chicken had good flavor, the veggies were cooked nicely, but the chicken again had an odd texture not sure if there coating it in something like cornstarch before the typical poach? Rice served with it was mushy and really unappealing. The food was expensive for what it was. Around $20 a dish and honestly the food was not something I would order again. The service was on top of it, and that made it 3 stars. It has really good reviews. I don't know if we ordered wrong? I should have noted the Pan Asian description as a warning But meh

Seems like they do more take out with a table by the front door for door dash. Back door was open letting in a cool breeze. Seated quickly. Friendly server. Dining area was clean. Ordered boba teas which were ok, but some of my boba were crumbly as if they hadn't fully softened. Tasted watered down. Started with edamame which was generously salted, and salted again for good measure. Beans were cooked well. Tried the Tom Kha which looked nice but was pretty bland and seemed to be missing some zing, lemongrass? Tom Yum was better but also missing some tartness. Tried the green papaya salad which seemed to have all the elements (don't always see the tiny dried shrimps) but was also generously salted, almost inedible. Tried the Pad Thai which was so-so. Also bland with a gravy like sauce. Good amount of shrimp. No egg? Tried the red curry with chicken, satisfactory. Tried the Thai fried rice, satisfactory. Tried the Kra-Pow. Very salty. Egg was over done.
