This wasn't even close. The BBQ pork was dry and overcooked and didn't taste barbecued at all. It seemed more like pork cooked in an oven and dyed red on the outside. The sweet-and-sour was another disappointment: thick cornstarch-heavy sauce with only three or four pieces of pineapple. Good old-school sweet-and-sour also has things like bell pepper to give it some flavor, texture and color. Then there was the chow mein: diced white-meat chicken, celery and carrots swimming in thick cornstarch gravy, dumped over crunchy noodles that tasted like they came straight out of a plastic bag. What makes it frustrating is that I remember New Hing's being better years ago. They used to have sesame chicken wings that were a little expensive for what you got, but at least they were delicious. Those are gone now. The restaurant itself has been remodeled and looks much nicer, but I wish they had put the same effort into improving the food. After this many disappointing visits over this many years, I'm finally done giving New Hing's another chance.

First time trying this place. Ordered a panda bowl woth half chowmein/fried rice and half orange chicken. I was enjoying the food until I heard a loud crack from my tooth. Thought maybe it was a piece of hard rice. As I continued to chew more loud cracking was happening. So I then spit my food into a napkin...to find rocks. Small rocks, like gravel pieces. I was shocked! Called them immediately and she offered me a new bowl, and I told her no becau se there are rocks in the food. I told her I was serious and concered for other patrons. As an old panda employee nothing is more frustrating then going to a panda and the staffing not knowing tf they are doing! From cashiers to cooks honestly are useless respectfully! They lack commonsense! You can tell the Oregon city store doesn't have a management because if they did they would know how to run a fuking store! Their orange chicken is literally empty and I let them know ahead of time that I was going to get it! And they still don't call it out and they still want to charge me and make me wait 10 mins! I've been to this restaurant 3 times with my family and this is by far the worst Panda Express around. Typically, I love Panda Express but not this one. Totally amazing how bad it can be. Empty pans, out of tea, no soy sauce, slow service, staff who refuse to do anything about reported problems, dirty tables, bad (no) flavor food, cold food. I was astonished. I believe in giving a place another chance but 3 chances, I'll never eat here again! read more
