Avidan made eye contact with me and then walked away and helped two other customers while I waited. Melinda then walked past me to help the customer behind me. I've been to this location a few different times and each time it's always busy. They do move quickly, but that also may be the problem. Ordered a 3 item combo to-go double chow mein with orange chicken, mushroom chicken and walnut shrimp. Also added 3 chicken egg rolls. Everything was delicious, no problem there. Not only is your food sloppily put together, but the portion size in the meal container is often lacking. The picture is what my meal looked like when I first opened it and you can clearly see that stingy is an understatement. Orange chicken is clearly their most popular dish and they're quite generous with it, then why are you so stingy with the mushroom chicken? You would think after spending over 25$ they could include at least a single pack of soy sauce. Nope, not one. It may be my fault for not asking but next time I'll know to not expect anything as a courtesy. For the tea drinkers don't expect to get anything out of this spot. Completely bone dry and I don't even think they're bothering to make it. Maybe instead of working so quickly you should either hire more employees to ease the pace or retrain employees to take their time so they can still provide good service. read more

We're driving down HWY 101 north when we decided to have a quick lunch around Pismo Beach or San Luis Obispo. We came across this town, Santa Maria, and noticed several eateries. We stopped at Panda Express and took their bowl lunch of orange chicken and noodles. The food is good considering it's a fast-food chain. The portion is generous and the service is fast. The only negative I can say about this establishment is that when I used their restroom, they don't have any hand wash at all. I'm worried about the workers who use this restroom and don't wash their hands and use their hands to handle the food they serve. As a customer, I'm worried about the hygiene of workers who work behind the food counter. Management should correct this immediately for everybody's safety. I would have given them a higher star, not for this violation. read more

I walked in and there was about 20 people scattered around the restaurant waiting for their food. I waited 45 minutes for my order. This is the only location in town and that's why I still use it for take out. It's really got a long way to go for improvement. Without a fail, it's always a wild Wild West here. Typically, my prepaid orders are there before the promised time (which isn't always ideal since they might not be hot by the time you get home). Yesterday, my Prepaid order was nowhere to be found 15 mins after promised time. I asked the staff a few times if the order was found and she would walk away to check and not give me any response. Finally, they ended up remaking my order and it was unclear if perhaps it had been stolen (I've heard this happens) or just never fulfilled altogether. The dining area is unpleasant and often dirty. It's very loud at this location as well with huge lines snaking into dining area. I definitely wouldn't recommend anyone to actually dine in. I'm usually very happy with Panda but not this last time. I order like always do on my app. I ordered half noodles and half rice. Order was ready when I got there. Good thing I looked they gave me no soy sauce or hot sauce no biggy I asked for some. My disappointment came when I opened my box. It was full of rice and very little noodles. This was my first time at this Panda, and I don't blame them for being crazy busy, but when I first entered to order, one of the employees told me that the line was 'back there' with her hand signal, and they way she signaled that made it sound like the line was right in front of the registers, then the registers told us that the line was back where we started , so I was just confused and I asked the first employee again where the line was, and she again said the directions the same way, until one of the customers complained that i cut in line and honestly I was just confused cuz I'm getting different answers just to find a simple line. Soon after, I place my order and ask for chow mein, with beef & broccoli, & walnut shrimp. What I received was 2 pieces of shrimp which wasn't even honey walnut shrimp, it was the spicy shrimp. This is my first Yelp review of Panda Express even though I've been coming here for years, I mean not only this location but several other locations. I love coming here but I hate waiting in line so for years I avoided the place because I just did not want to wait in line. It seems like people that are waiting at a Panda Express line are not happy people. I was so glad that they put out the app that I started using that app even though in the beginning it was crap, but through the years they finally have control of the app. There food, it's always consistent no matter where you go. For sides I always order half and half fried rice and Chow mein and for the main it's orange Chicken, almond chicken, or Teriyaki chicken. Customer service has always been good to me and the bathrooms are always clean. A clean bathroom is the the key for a clean restaurant. As for you review hunters, don't mind the low scores these people give them because I'm not really sure why they give out low scores, maybe if they ordered from the app they'll be a lot more mellow, or maybe Panda Express should have 2 lines of food to order from..... but nah, I enjoy watching upset people waiting in line. read more
