I am Asian, love Chinese Food. I consider Panda Express Chinese Food to be very tasty and good. Is it real Chinese food? I don't know. Is it tasty, delicious food that looks Chinese, and taste better than most Chinese restaurant food I've eaten in the USA, including Colorado and California? Yes!! I visited mainland China about 5 years ago, I was really looking forward to the Chinese food. For the first 4 days I ate as much Chinese food as I can, at outdoor stalls, restaurants and hotels. The most bland, and often weird tasting Chinese food I ever ate! Last 3 days I couldn't take it any more, and ate at McDonalds, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell. Sad but true. When I got back to Tokyo and I told my Chinese friends in Japan, they told me, "Yes, mainland Chinese food is bad. Best is Singapore, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Tokyo!". I'll stay with Colorado, occasional San Francisco and Panda Express! I usually order the "Plate" which is 2 entrees, with rice and/or chowmein on the side. I like "Orange Chicken" and "Peking Beef". The Panda Express restaurants are usually clean, and nice, staff is usually friendly and well trained. If a particular entree I want is low, I ask how long of a wait for the new batch, and I usually wait a few minutes until a new batch comes out. I haven't had the bad experiences some of the other reviewers mention. Maybe i've been lucky. Makes me hungry for Panda Express! read more

I got 5 very small pieces of string beans chicken with tons of vegetable. You're better off going across the street to Target and buying a bag of frozen broccoli. Much cheaper and you'll still have the same hungry feeling at the end. Never again. So disappointed. read more

When you are a hungry goblin, and in a food desert shopping center, Panda Express starts to look really good. This time it also tasted good, too! This place is one of few eateries consistently open in the shopping center. However, does not stop the people here from being friendly to us all and also gave us a little bit extra for our orders. This is by far the worst Panda.. I love the food but the last couple of things I've come to this location they are out of several chicken dishes and when asked to make them they are so rude. I will not be back nor will I recommend this location. Hopefully management can address the attitude problems and they can regain the patronage that they have lost. read more

They are very kind and personable and serve with a smile. They accidentally put orange chicken in my box instead of Beijing beef(which I can't blame them, everyone orders orange chicken) so they immediately just filled a small box with Beijing beef and gave that to me as well. Food tasted great! I genuinely love Panda Express, especially their orange chicken it's all I ever get. I don't usually make reviews but I've gotten food poisoning from said orange chicken a couple times now (including tonight.) I hope someone over there sees this, because LOVE the food, but this has been a reoccurring issue almost every time I've eaten there. When the portion are at the end, instead of cooking more, giving a discount or letting the client know they are out of said item, they will just give what they have left and charge you for more food than was paid for. Management is rude, ignorant and are not willing to make things right. read more

When I want cheap Chinese food in Monterey, CA I hit up the Panda in Sand City. I go there because they are consistent with their food and I know what I am going to get. I hit up the Panda off 36 and was severly dissapointed by my 2 item combo. Yeah it was cheap $7 for a huge iced tea and my meal but my to-go container felt like it was carrying air. I tried this location for lunch one day and decided to try the new Firecracker chicken. When I walked up to the counter they were currently out of this flavor, but they had a new batch made within a few short mins.This was the spiciest Chinese style food I ever had, it actually made my nose run. Things that would make Panda Express better: 1) Brown rice. I guess this doesn't really make sense, since if you're eating at PE, you are probably not the most health-conscious person. But I like it better than white rice, so they should have it. 2) Smaller pieces of broccoli. Every time I get beef and broccoli, I am faced with the unfortunate choice of having to jam a whole tree into my mouth and chew it, or trying to cut said broccoli with a wobbly plastic knife. Neither is a good option. 3) Sturdier plates. Idk what it is with Panda and flimsy tableware, but those cardboard plates have almost collapsed all over me numerous times. 4) Egg drop soup. They don't have it. WHAT. All and all, Panda's pretty damn good for fast-food Chinese. The food is actually better than some non-fast food Chinese I've had the misfortune of encountering. I just don't want my food to end up all over me. On a completely irrelavent note, I was sitting here one day when a fellow customer walked up to me and told me that I had beautiful feet. I made an account with yelp just to write this. Avoid this location at all cost, Because of its remote location the food is always cold. Best to drive across 36 and take advantage of ALL the restaurants north of 36. (smatsh burger, mod pizza, MAD Greens, Mile High Pho!) IF your taste buds are really into Asian fare try Mile High Pho! Its Also Cheaper, more filling and probably healthier! Here is what happened. I went in for an order of Beijing Beef and there was less than 1/2 a portion in the warm plate. I asked the young man that was taking orders if i could wait for a fresh batch, he said yes and lookeded arround for the manager. The manager (older lady in black shirt) then comes out of the bathroom to fiddle with the ice machine and then pickup a basket from the fryer that had beef in it so I guessed I wouldn't have to wait long. I then watch The Manager scoop the new cooked meet into a pan, and THEN scoop the old left overs that had been sitting and were less than a portion into the same pan but places it carefully into the corner of the pan away from fresh cooked food. She returns the warming pan back to where the other food is and then she then meticulously gives me the severing of old food that she had moved to the side, and walks off for the other employee to finish preparing my food. I walked out. Do place some thought before choosing this location to eat, it is out of the way and not that busy, but this means that the food you are getting is old and cold. This experience and another where I saw the sister store in Boulder (28th street) use bare hands to scoop and scrape freshly cooked rice into the serving tray are why I will never eat at another panda again, and I will encourage others not to do so. Look at other review where something worse happened. This habit of leaving old cold half portions and serving them to customers is not a one off, it seems to be standard practice for this restaurant. [other 1 star review on this place from google] Alex Borton a year ago- Server refused to make a new batch of Shanghai steak even though the one scoop that was left looked hours old and all dried out. I have been to many other Panda Express restaurants in the past, and i usually really like them - the food is usually good, and the wait is usually short. I will never go back to this one though, if any of them. We went inside this one, and there was no one waiting in line. We stood there waiting, and for some reason, the woman helping people suddenly took a man and started helping him in front of us. That was fine, we assumed we didn't see him or something. But then, she started helping his entire family as well - all 7 of them. The man kept saying that she should help us first - he insisted that we were there first. But she kept saying that she had to help all of them together. Finally the man gave up and his entire family trooped in front of us to pick out their food. Fine - whatever. We waited while she rang all of them up, trying to be patient. However, as soon as she finished with them, she went and picked up the phone, completely ignored us, and talked on it for a least 5 minutes. No one else in the restaurant would help us either - they were all on the drive-in orders, and so we stood there waiting, to no avail. 10 minutes after we walked in, with supposedly no one in front of us in line, we finally threw up our hands and left. This location is TERRIBLE! Every time that I have gone in there the steam line was 3/4 EMPTY, and the empty steam pans have dried residue in them YUK!
