The food here is great -- no complaints at all on the quality. I've been coming here about every couple of weeks. But the management and consistency are a different story. I started noticing that when I go through the drive-thru, the portions are noticeably smaller than when I order inside. So I actually tested it a few times -- same exact order, one person inside and one through the drive-thru. Every time, the drive-thru portions were clearly smaller. I brought it up to the manager and was told everything is weighed and that it must be an employee issue. Fair enough -- but after repeating this test three times over about a month and getting the same results, it doesn't seem like a one-off problem. I'll still eat here because the food is good, but I only order inside now. Just something to be aware of if you're using the drive-thru. read more

Ordered my favorite Kung pao chicken yesterday. It was fresh, hot, and delicious! I was planning to get 2 large items but the steam table was kind of light and I didn't want to wait. I requested a sample of a beef dish that was ready - don't remember which it was now CRS lol. But was told they don't give samples. After questioning the practice I was told they could give me a sample to take with me. I was confused by what the difference was and was told they don't hand samples to customers anymore since Covid. So basically you can get a sample but can't eat it near them. Wow. So I left with 1 item instead of 2 - oh and the sample. See pic. Service was interesting. The lady (short in height) who helped me just stood there initially without saying anything then after a long silence said, "you decided?" No greeting, smile, or thank you - robotic-like. Ordered through their App on the drive over from across town. Ordered a 2 item plate (chow mein, honey walnut shrimp and orange chicken). It was ready 5 minutes before the expected time. When I got there the restaurant was pretty busy with dine-in and drive-thru customers. Had to wait a few minutes for a diner to pay for their food and another person in front of me who was picking up an order. The lady who helped me was very nice. Order was ready as the App told me. PLEASE get a manager who can manage employees for success because this is worst store I've been to. To the rude, nasty, short-haired girl working the drive-thru on 1/9 at 1:45, working with the public is not a choice you should've made. Horrible, nasty, and this is the second time in two tries that my order was wrong. The first time you gave me a dish I didn't ask for, and you were kind enough to put your nasty, diseased shrimp in my take-out. Today I ordered a small teriyaki chicken that never even made it to my bag. I get it, it's fast food, but you should have standards you're working with. Since you clearly don't, I would suggest working at Taco Bell so you don't have to remember more than one thing. This location seems to mess up orders all the time because just today I went, told them my order and they gave me the wrong items I asked for. This isn't the first time it's happened to me. It's happened to me three times. I've had to go all the way back from my house to the store to ask for the correct order. All different employees at that. Maybe this location needs new headsets to be able to hear the customers better or something . Don't know why this Panda has such low ratings. This is my favorite stop on the way to Sac from the Bay. Perfect midpoint for a snack on the long drive home. I normally go through the drive through but this time I decided to go in as I had to use the restroom. Everything was cleaned and all the food looked fresh. There was a little crowd but everything went rather smoothly. I sat down and eat a little bit of my food before I went on the road again. I'm glad I left the Applebees earlier because I really enjoyed my meal. Place is located right off the freeway so it's easy to get back on. I have been eating with panda for very long time. This is the worst experience that I have ever had. Food is dry and does not taste like the other panda. Portion is awfully small and COLD. Very unorganized and does not feel clean. The worst part is I paid for three items but they gave me two items. Luckily I caught it before I left. The regional manager should pay more attention to this store. Horrible, absolutely horrible. Wish I would've looked at Yelp first, that 1 and a half star review would've deterred me from this place. I placed a Pick Up order for 2 Large Plain Rice from the Panda Express first party app (Not a third party app). When I arrived to pick up my order, the girl told me they were out of plain rice and asked if I would like fried rice instead. I told her that I needed the plain rice because it was to accompany a dish I made at home, so I declined the exchange and asked for a refund. She told me she could not issue a refund because I ordered on the app and I would have to call their 800 number to request a refund. I called the 800 number and left a message, I also took a screen shot and emailed that to their headquarters. They did not address the problem, and did not offer me a refund. They sent me a coupon instead for $3 off. I googled the issue I had and other people had the same issue, as it turns out, the cashier was supposed to cancel the order on her end and it would've issued me a refund automatically. So she either didn't know what she was doing, or the staff is instructed by management to not cancel any app orders. I will not order from a Panda Express again. read more

The service was horrible. I went through the drive-thru and ordered the family meal and a couple of extra sides. I was told there was a wait for one of my choices. They told me to pull around and they would bring the food to me. After 15 minutes, I went inside and had to wait 5 minutes before anyone could help me. I could see what looked like my order sitting on the counter. When I asked about it, they asked me if I had asked about it. I told them I didn't know I had to ask since they told me they would bring it to me. Needless to say, some of the food was cold when I got home. Normally Panda is a great go-to for tasty Chinese food with fresh vegetables. I often order Kung Pao, and was happy to find their King Pao sauce sold in the grocery store. It makes for a great addition to takeout and is good for stir-fry too. Unfortunately, the location on Monte Vista has been slipping a bit lately with online orders, and tonight I brought home a meal for two and one order was completely missing an entree. Unfortunately, this is the second time. Not sure if the broccoli beef ticket is not printing correctly, or it's being missed by staff, but because this is the second time I came on to bring it to management's attention. My boyfriend placed an order through the drive thru on his phone and we waited their line for a good 10 minutes then they said the food wasnt ready and we needed to wait in the parking lot, so we waited for 30 minutes and at that point they were about 45 minutes from closing. We tried to go in after the 30 minutes of waiting and the doors were locked and there were a girl cleaning and a couple other girls just standing around laughing/talking. I knocked on the door and the one cleaning came to open it and i asked how long for the food since it had been very long. She said its not yet ready she will bring it when it is ready i say okay thank you and go back to the car. She comes out about 10 minutes later and says here is free orange chicken. We check the order abd the plate we ordered is wrong its just more orange chicken. We didnt even want orange chicken. So then knock again and tell her its wrong and she tried to say the free orange chicken was out real order? So i show her the reciept and we have to wait extra for our actual food and then had just 2lbs of orange chicken we didnt want. It was probably what they were going to throw away at the end of the night. We dont want that.
