White Fried Rice Orange Chicken Honey Walnut Shrimp
    Kathryn H.

I have been here several times recently and overall the service has been quick and correct. The food is always warm but the hotness of it can vary. The orange chicken in particular I have noticed can be milder one day and hotter the next so it's a gamble every time you buy it. Overall, my favorites to get from here are orange chicken and Beijing beef.

Pretty good food. Not my first pick for Chinese, but in a pinch, it will do. I like more choices. Their sides are limited. If you order a plate, they give you more side than main course which is kind of a rip off. I have gotten their orange chicken which is perfectly crispy on the outside and tenderly cooked inside. I had their lo mein noodles and wished I hadn't. The rice is pretty plain. I do really like their egg rolls though, crunchy outside with a mix of meat and vegetables inside. Restaurant is normally clean. Prices are good. The employees are kind.

Burned string beans and overly usage of the sauce. It looked completely different than my own home state in California.

A two meat order is a little too complex for this location. I recommend checking your order before leaving.

My son wanted to give it a high rating. He got the teriyaki chicken and fried rice. He says it tastes like Gordon Ramsay

The food here is never good anymore. The chicken tastes reheated and the rice is mushy. Go to teriyaki madness instead.

But I was on a road trip, had been driving for eight hours and had eight more hours to go. The gas station I stopped at smelled like really good spicy pizza but it had been away a couple hours earlier. Having had nothing to eat put somewhat healthy snacks and caffeine, I realized I had better grab something quick or I would need to wait for breakfast to get anything decent. The gas station attendant told me about Five Guys being open, across the street. I raced over and felt guilty walking in. I apologized but all three of the crew members cheerfully replied that it wasn't a problem at all...WITH ENTHUSIASM!!! The girl who worked the grill joked that it was great because the grill had been so dirty enough that it really needed to be cleaned again. I could see the grill. It was sparkling clean. The girl who took my order cheerfully gave suggestions and we decided on a very custom sandwich. She recommended a couple of grilled jalapenos on it because it would taste amazing with the melted cheese and bacon. And did it ever! The hand cut fries were just as awesome. The guy working the fryer and the two girls happily chatted with me while I was waiting for my order, as they continued to work. Amazing. I don't usually take the time to sit and write out a review of a burger joint, especially when I have a long drive ahead of me, but this team ROCKED. They truly seemed to enjoy each other's company and mine. I can honestly say that I have never been made to feel so welcomed at ANY restaurant or business when walking in minutes before closing. Didn't mean to gush but I guess I'm kind of in shock. Stop here. Enjoy the friendly atmosphere and the great food. You'll be one happy traveler!

Taco Tuesday will never be the same for these Chicago guys who love good tacos and Lucha Libre…read more Life is God. Family. Tacos. Lucha Libre. Santo Tacos is the new temple of tacos. We drove a long way to get there and we were - initially - put off by the appearance. It kind of looks like a strip mall fast food joint appropriating the Lucha Libre legend El Santo. We walked in - not expecting much and walked out full of great food and great company. This is a must visit for Lucha fans and taco lovers. My last Birria taco was in Puerto Rico at a little hole in the wall that made their name on Birria tacos. I decided to see if this little joint in Valparaiso could compete. I warned Chantal (our server and occasional photographer) that I had high hopes for the Birria. She was unfazed. She knew. She was confident. We started with a nacho plate with salsa and guacamole and warm cheese sauce. Everything was fresh and flavorful. We stuffed out faces as we marveled at the décor. We discussed who was who in which poster and which masks were in our personal collections. When Chantal brought the three tacos to the table, it was clear to see they were of the highest quality, perhaps even better than Puerto Rico. The spices were blended perfectly. The meat was moist and the tortilla was soft where it needed to be and crunchy where it was supposed to be. Fresh food always elevates the dining experience. This food was all fresh and well prepared. I have been having bad luck with smoked jalapenos lately so I only ate half of it. It was also quite good, but I know the danger that lurks in a smoked jalapeno. My buddy got a burrito - it was a monster. He and I have eaten many Mexican dinners before or after a Lucha Libre show. He tends to eat with moderation. Not this time, he destroyed that burrito talking between bites about how good it was. We had Chantal take some pictures around the restaurant at various spots. We're two corny old guys having fun with our hobbies (tacos and Lucha Libre). She was very patient and accommodating - doing everything in her power to get the best pictures she could for us. When the service is five star and the food is five star - the only problem is the distance. We will be back - of course - but sadly not every Tuesday as we'd like.

In terms of ambiance, the staff was cleaning and the TVs were old (poor quality) and had nothing of interest on. I ordered the poyo taco (loved) and the alambre (hated - the steak was so chewy. I know it's skirt steak, but this was not edible). I also ordered the churros; which were fine. It may be worth going back and ordering something different, but you can also get a taco just about anywhere.
