I always pass this place when I pick our dog up At Petsmart so the anticipation was there! The order was ready in 10 min. which makes me wonder is it fresh fresh? The flavor is there. But a all the Chinese restaurant I've had in Houston pack as much rice as you possibly can in those little white boxes. This place left about an 1/8 empty, (yep all 3 boxes) Come on guys, don't skimp on the rice, it's pennies we're talking here! At least give a full box of rice. Second, I have never seen to-go boxes so freakin' shallow before in my life, I guess to create an illusion. I'm thinking the bonus is they give you two egg rolls (veggie) , they were decent. If you don't know any better, this might be good Chinese food. Thankfully, I know good Chinese and this doesn't compare but it's not bad hence the 3 stars. The lunch special at The Dumpling King for $7.95 is twice the size of this dinner special! and they make it fresh per order, you might have to wait 20 min. But It's definitely worth the wait!! HORRIBLE. The customer service as exhibited by the manager (may have been the owner) is absolutely embarrassing and is an extremely poor example of how not to treat customers. I was mortified when the person who received my phone order YELLED at me in response to my request to confirm the cost of a menu item. Despite feeling as if I had just been spoken to rudely, I extended the benefit of the doubt and completed the phone order. Upon arrival, I asked for the person who received my order over the phone. The person confirmed taking the order and acknowledging the tone. I proceeded to respectfully express my dissatisfaction with the response tone and inflection received over the phone to this specific person (who appeared to be a manager). I was immediately met with further furor and absolutely no contrition. There was no apology offered in response to my expressed dissatisfaction. In fact, to make matters worse, the person responded with an expression of dissatisfaction with me placing the order over the speaker in my vehicle. This was all done in the presence of other customers and not to mention an employee who appears to be a young person. This employee may very well have been impacted by the unfavorable extent of customer service extended to me. Needless to say, I was absolutely baffled by a response from a person who appears to be a manager. The apathy was appalling. I generally place multiple entree size orders for my office and family. This experience is really unfortunate. I will not be visiting this establishment in the future. read more

This has always been my families favorite Chinese restaurant, and we couldn't wait until it reopened in its new location. I would have given it five stars except for the new dine In decor just doesn't feel inviting and we didn't like the new dine in experience. The food is still consistently great but sadly the new restaurant doesn't have the same ambiance as the previous location and I have seen people walk in look around and walk out while I was picking up our food. This is still great food so we are content just picking it up and it's great that right now they are offering curbside. Give the food here a try and you won't regret it, especially if you are looking for Chinese food that is delicious and not super greasy. The chicken egg rolls are amazing!!! The cheese puffs are good and the sweet and sour chicken, General tso's chicken, sesame chicken, and shrimp fried rice are delicious! I have been eating at Panda Garden for 30+ years since they were in the old Weslayan location and I was a kid (Im 44 now). I remember when they first opened and we had dinner there, they invited us to take a tour of the kitchen and it was immaculate which I'm sure still is to this day. I honestly do miss the old location and having full service but I'm just glad they are still around and thriving. We get delivery ALL the time and it is soooo fast and so hot and so fresh! I'm obsessed with all Asian cuisines and eat so many different kinds every week. I recently tried an old school institution nearby because people talk about it in many of the foodie groups I'm in and I was soooo disappointed. I mean it was awful, tasteless hot and sour soup and awful (and huge egg roll). I don't understand how people think this is good. I regretted DoorDash'ing from there and totally wished I had ordered the incredibly silky and delicious hot and sour soup and the absolute best crispy chicken spring rolls from panda Garden!!!!!! The quality of food at PG is so far above the others. The veggies are so fresh, the quality of meat is excellent. How do they get their meat so tender?!!!! I swear it's one of my life's mysteries lol. I'm obsessed with the moo shu chicken, trust me you need this in your life. The Happy Family is the best of all the worlds with chicken, beef and huge shrimps. I love the Szechuan dumplings!!!! I've pretty much had the entire menu over the years and everything is amazing. My kids are obsessed with the Panda Lomein and the Sweet & Sour chicken and they are not wrong! Even the sweet and sour sauce is so much better than these other "similar" restaurants. I have been getting carry out lunches here for about 10 years, ever since they were located in Wesleyan Plaza. I like their food: it's good and the lunch specials are fairly priced. However, I got an entree order of vegetable lo mien the other day, with added beef, and it was almost $19. I thought it would be enough to split with my husband, but it was not. We are talking about noodles with some vegetable pieces and about 2 oz. of beef, no soup, no egg roll. Ridiculously overpriced. Stick to the lunch specials. read more
