I'm a huge fan of Thai cuisine and so is my family! We took my brother here for his 20th birthday, after I randomly stumbled upon this spot, and it absolutely exceeded our expectations. The food was delicious. I especially loved the Thai basil fried rice and the ambience was beautiful. The owners were incredibly humble and accommodating, making adjustments based on our dietary restrictions without any hesitation. Give it a try and thank me later

This is a small family owned business serving authentic Thai food. And it's so good. I went just for soup this time. I ordered the Tom Kha soup with shrimp and white rice on the side for an appetizer. The flavor! Everything was so fresh and the shrimp were huge! I loved the tanginess and creaminess of the soup. I will definitely come back here for more delicious and authentic thai food.

I walked in right when it opened and was greeted by the cashier. I placed a togo order and it was ready in about 5 minutes! That was pretty quick! I thoroughly enjoyed the wontons. Crispy in the edges and great filling to dough ratio. I felt like the pad Thai could use a little more flavor. I still enjoyed it but it was just missing something. The store was located in a nice outdoor strip mall with plenty of parking. The restaurant itself is clean and pleasant.

Food was made fresh and was flavorful. Pineapple chicken curry was literally just that. No other veggie in there. Fried rice and spicy fish sauce were super delish. 5/5 was service. We went an hour before closing and they were so kind. It was clean inside. No sticky tables, floor was clean. No trash. I would def recommend. Is it the best Thai food ever? No. Not at all. Mid. However it is the best Thai place around here if you're not going to Bellaire.

This was my second time dining in and everything was just as good as before. Food was fresh, reasonable portions with enough for leftovers, and staff was nice/attentive! Those shrimp tho

My sister and I were craving thai food and we saw one super close to us in the neighborhood. We placed an order for to go and it was done in 5-10 minutes! The portions were good for their pricing as well. They offer good lunch specials during the week too that I want to come back and try. The hot spice level was perfect for me. The pad see ew was so flavorful and the tofu had a nice crispiness to the outside but soft on the inside. I liked that it wasn't too oily either. The pad thai was a solid choice and the noodle portion was huge.

Neighborhood charm with good service. Nestled between multi other restaurants (try the Jamaican spot next door). I have been wanting to try this place for a while, so it had been on my list. Happy to see the reviews are pretty solid. Seems like a great place to grab lunch, probably the main attraction. Came here for the first time with my family around 7p. The place was pretty dead, but it was a weekday evening, so maybe the crowd had left. I wasn't mad at this at all. Because it equaled fast and exclusive service. Service - was great, our lovely server Pam was kind, she had a grandma deminure, so sweet. Not sure if Pam is the owner, but I will find out more my next visit. All food came out hot and tasty. She gave us recd's on spice level and items to order. Food- we did family style. Ordered pork egg rolls, seafood fried rice, entree cashew with the combo meat of beef, shrimp, chicken. And the curry which came with white rice. Plenty of takeaway. For sure will be back. Thanks Pam!

Easy quick lunch here. Staff is super friendly and can't beat the price for the lunch specials. Portions sort of reflect the lunch size but it's enough. Flavors are great and the medium spice level has a good kick. No frills and just good food.

I pass this place daily on the way to work! I finally tried the lunch special ginger beef steamed rice plate for $11. Portion was a bit small but the beef was very tasty. My friend got lunch special chicken panang curry and that was definitely too small and not filling. The curry was alright, nothing special. We both got medium, and the spice level was actually accurate. The complimentary tap water was not good. While food was good, I think there are other places that I can get more for the same amount of money.

Came during the lunch special and I think it's definitely worth it. It's a good portion size for the price and it was really good! I really like the pad Thai and pad see ew and the green curry. We were greeted and able to order as soon as we got there and the servers were super attentive. It's a nice little restaurant in a strip, super easy to go to and meet w friends. Definitely going again

Loved this place the first time I tried it, and it continues to be a staple place to go! This time, I tried the pad kee mow with beef and drunken macaroni. I got it without spice, and both dishes tasted delicious with a nice basil flavor. They tasted actually very similar and basically have the same ingredients. I opted for no spice but I think it'd be more delicious with just a little added spice. The portions are huge and always so delicious!! 10/10 recommend supporting them!

New Thai restaurant in the med center area! This restaurant is located in a shopping center between a barbershop and a gas station. They area kind of gives shade tree but once inside the restaurant the vibes are good! The woman at the counter is very friendly. I ordered the Thai basil with white rice and some veggie egg rolls! Very fresh and well seasoned! The egg rolls come in a 4 pack and they are definitely cooking with fresh oil because they were great! As pictured you get a good sized portion of food! I will definitely be back to try more things on the menu!

Super excited that this new Thai restaurant is in the neighborhood. I can see this becoming the new neighborhood Thai gem. Tuk Tuk is located in a pretty sketchy strip center so I wouldn't recommend going late at night if you are the cautious type but other the area is harmless with plenty of parking. The inside area has a lot of seating and the restaurant was super clean. I came during lunch so I ordered off the lunch menu with included a veggie eggroll. I ordered the l-2 pad see ew- medium heat! The medium heat was described perfectly! The spice was just enough where it didn't make nose run but enough spice to complement the dish. The pad see ew was very tasty for its price point. I will be back! The staff were super friendly as well.

Upon arriving, every table was taken except our table w a reserved sign on it. The restaurant was bustling, but I could still hear my husband over the music and noise. The menu is huge!!! I didn't know where to start. But our server, Vanessa, helped us make a few choices. We started off w bánh xèo tostadas, bánh béo, & carpaccio. Then we had calamari and their steak special. I asked for a side of papaya slaw for some veggies. My favorite dish of the night was the carpaccio. So many flavors perfectly melded together. Loved the crunch of the fried onions and peanuts. 10/10 dish, in my opinion. Authentic banh xèo usually has an airier, crisp crepe, but theirs was more crunchy - great for their tostada take. Very flavorful. Each piece had one shrimp, but plenty of pork belly bites. The nuoc mam drizzled on it was tasty. Fried calamari - this is a big dish for, I believe, $'19. I prefer the dipping sauce on the side so that the batter doesn't get soggy. This did happen here, but it didn't stop us from finishing every last bite. The green sauce was good, not the usual dipping sauce for fried calamari. Steak special - they have another steak dish on their menu, but this one was pepper crusted w smashed potatoes. The potatoes were super crispy and flavorful and the steak was perfectly cooked - a beautiful pink medium rare. The portion was huge and justified the $39 price point. The staple steak dish came with a papaya slaw and I had to have it. It was bright and limey - I can see why they serve it with their steak. Bánh beo - my least favorite of the night. A bit thicker than I like. Still good, but there were a lot of other great dishes that I could easily pass on this one. Try their hibiscus artichoke tea.

We got there 15 minutes before to make sure we could find parking. They have a small lot but all the spaces were taken despite being before 6 pm on a weekday. And a few spots had noticeable broken glass so be careful. We fortunately found street parking close by; double checked the signs because I ain't getting towed for nothing. Then I double checked inside with staff to make sure where I parked was ok. On to the food: we got several happy hour appetizer items: soy garlic wings, Brussels sprouts, bao bun, roasted oysters. All was good but not amazing. I then ordered the pho tai chinh for myself - I was quite impressed with the portions and the price! Wifey got the lemongrass pork banh mi - good but not amazing. Overall I would say the food taste and portions were good, but note this is elevated Asian cuisine, so it'll run you $20-$30 minimum. Now the service - definitely super friendly staff. It was our first time there so maybe they brought out the extra friendliness. Even the chef came out and greeted us to make sure we liked the food. Waitress was very kind and checked on our table a LOT. Almost too much. Overall a good experience, yummy food, not a fan of the parking (a common problem in the Heights), and expensive for Asian food but that's expected. Enjoy!

The tubs of ice filled with cold drinks all around as you approach the counter was casual and fun. And the staff was welcoming and friendly. The menu had so much variety, without being overwhelming. The pork was seasoned well and had good flavor from the marinade. The cilantro, pickled onions, jalapeno, all were so fresh and vibrant! And I was able to get homemade chips and fresh strawberries as my side - such a refreshing bite the strawberries after a rich, porky, spicy bite from the sandwich. Can't say enough good! Before their recent expansions to Austin, it all began here in Rice Village exactly 15 years ago. The vibes are contemporary and casual, with the kind of space that fits for just about any scenario. Whether it's a solo meal, a lunch date, or a group led affair, the experience is almost always an excellent one. Start by ordering at the counter and find a seat where the food will brought directly to the table. So much of their variety caters to all sorts of dietary restrictions from vegan to gluten free to nut free. Their spicy crispy brussels sprouts ($10) are a nice starter, as is the squash "onion" rings ($12). The local power bowl ($16) is a classic and I've always enjoyed the brown rice and quinoa combo. Their chicken "posolé" is solid, and I love the large hominy bits along with the clear but green tint of a broth. The chicken shawarma bowl ($20) is an interesting mix that includes pickled beets and strawberries, along with their market cheddar burger ($17) and fabulous twice cooked fries. The carrot cupcake is strangely addicting, and I think their gluten free brownie is a bit of a sleeper. Some of their items didn't jive with me previously, such as an underwhelming cashew queso ($9), a semi-laughable Vietnamese steak bowl ($22), and their semi-gringo version of a banh mi ($15). It's not that these items are bad per se, but they definitely don't live up to the same standard that I feel their other dishes do best. Where they hit the biggest home run is their customer service. Everyone working behind the counter does their best to deliver and they almost always do by staying on top of refills, cleanups, and customer greets. I've always enjoyed my experiences here and look forward to every visit.
