My first time visiting Panda Inn since its remodel and relaunch in 2024. I have been here more times than I can remember and was looking forward to check out the new digs. The multistory parking structure is a vast improvement from its previous lot. The interior design has been modernized with very high ceilings and open floor design. The menu is similar to the previous but now a sushi selection. Hot and sour soup was fine, not as sour as I'd like but a good amount for pepper. The calamari was very good, crisp and well seasoned. The moo shu pork was good except the wrapper was papery in texture. The phoenix chicken was okay but I tasted more coating than chicken. Taiwanese braised pork rice was good, had a comfort meal vibe. Honey Walnut Shrimp was delicious except I noted some green cubes, I think melon, a little off putting, bit you can eat around it. Service could have been better, a little slow and our wait staff could have benefited from some caffeine to perk them up. Panda Inn is still a great place for large groups or to celebrate an event. The beef chow fun here is legendary and one of the best I've ever had. This beef chow fun had great wok hei flavor, had high quality/tender beef, and had a perfect hint of sweetness, all of which really impressed my mom who has high standards for Cantonese/Hong Kong cuisine. The orange chicken here tasted similar to Panda Express but had a more crispy exterior and a slightly more sophisticated flavor. The kung pao chicken was not bad but I prefer the orange chicken over this. The beef chow fun was so good it convinced me this place is more than just elevated Panda Express. I plan to return and try their other dishes that are unique to this restaurant and can't be found at Panda Express. read more

No, nothing at all. I went on 2/24 and waitress said, they don't have any options. Not even Gluten free soy sauce. We had to leave and not eat there, which was disappointing.

I kept seeing this whole "Panda Express was inspired by Panda Inn" thing floating around online, so as a loyal orange chicken connoisseur, I had to investigate for myself. We were extremely disappointed with our recent experience at Panda Inn. We had brought family from out of town and were excited for our first visit to the newly remodeled location after hearing so many great things. We made a 6:15 reservation and specifically requested outdoor seating since we were dining with a baby and toddler and needed more space. We were also trying to be considerate of other guests, knowing that toddlers can sometimes be loud and the indoor tables are very close together. When we arrived, we were seated inside despite the patio being almost entirely empty. When we explained that we had specifically requested outdoor seating, we were told that "sometimes people request outside seating but don't actually want to sit outside," which was frustrating and dismissive. We explained again that we truly did want to sit outside because of the kids, but were told they could not accommodate us because a large party was arriving in 30 minutes and needed the patio tables. What made the situation even more upsetting was that we tried to offer solutions and were simply shut down. The entire interaction made us feel as though the larger party mattered more because they would obviously be spending more money. We asked to speak with a manager hoping there would be some flexibility or at least an effort to make us feel valued as customers, but nothing was done to accommodate us. If specific dining requests are not actually considered, they should not be part of the reservation process. The most disappointing part wasn't even that they couldn't honor the request -- it was the lack of hospitality, empathy, and willingness to help in any way. We ended up leaving completely frustrated and disappointed. We've always loved Panda Inn, which makes this experience even more upsetting, but the way we were treated was unacceptable and unfortunately not somewhere we will return to. read more

I came across an article highlighting Panda's founders and they talked about having a 5 year plan to become recognized as the world leader in people development. What an incredible vision and this prompted me to dine at Panda Inn. I've eaten at Panda Express but wasn't aware that there was a sit-down restaurant! There's always a stigma that Panda's menu is not authentic Chinese food and let me tell you, it is authentically Chinese but with an American twist - what a win-win situation! Sometimes, I think it's important to leave our comfort zone and to really experience innovative kitchens such as Panda's. To my surprise and complete opposite to what I've been hearing, the dishes here were delicious. I highly recommend ordering the wok-fried jumbo scallops with sauteed spinach in wine sauce. That was my favorite dish. The sweet and aromatic shrimp was also really good (looked exactly like the menu's picture)! I was inspired to get a little creative and enjoyed the shrimps with my chicken lettuce wraps! The ingredients were fresh and the portions were also very generous. Friends who advise us that if we want to experience "authentic" Chinese food, we need to go to A, B or C restaurant instead. However, if you want great service, comfort and ambiance, Panda Inn is where you need to take your family to. It's a festive and elegant restaurant to host holiday parties (great for both family and company events!). Another reason to support the Panda family of restaurants is that instead of focusing on prosperity, they are heavily focused on developing people to become the best version of themselves. What I loved most was how they managed to elevate classic, comforting Chinese dishes--the kind of flavors you might crave from a great bento lunch--into high-quality, less oily, and much cleaner, healthier versions without losing any of the bold flavor. The Classics: The Orange Chicken had the perfect crispy-to-sauce ratio, and the Crispy Beef was delightfully sweet and savory. The Mains: The Honey Walnut Shrimp was incredibly fresh and paired nicely with melon, and the string beans were perfectly blistered and seasoned. This visit felt especially memorable because several of the dishes were privately customized for us, which made the whole dinner feel much more personal and special. One of the highlights was the lobster with uni and tofu. The presentation was beautiful, and the combination was surprisingly elegant -- the lobster was tender and fresh, the uni added a rich, creamy sweetness, and the tofu helped balance everything nicely. I also really enjoyed the candied eggplant. It had a great contrast of textures and a slightly sweet, caramelized flavor that made it very addictive. The braised sea cucumber with beef tendon was another standout. Both the sea cucumber and tendon were cooked until tender and soaked up the savory sauce beautifully. We also had fresh uni and eel, and everything was presented with a lot of attention to detail. The ingredients tasted fresh, the flavors were well balanced, and the entire meal felt thoughtfully prepared rather than simply being about presentation. My family and I were looking for a family-friendly place since my baby nephew was joining us. We decided on Panda Inn for a family night out to celebrate my sister's birthday. We made a reservation for a Saturday night at 7:30 PM, it was super busy, so we didn't get seated until about 7:45 PM, which was totally understandable. The restaurant has a nice, open layout, which made it easy to fit our stroller comfortably without feeling crowded. Our server, PK, was absolutely amazing. One of the friendliest and most attentive servers we've ever had! She greeted us with such warmth and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the entire meal. It is always a good sign when my shy baby nephew gives someone a big smile, and he instantly liked her! We ordered the short ribs, orange chicken, honey walnut shrimp, filet mignon chow fun, string beans, and the sushi platter. Everything came out hot, fresh, and flavorful. Even though PK was clearly busy with other tables, she still made time to check in on us often, refill our waters without us having to ask, and make sure our food came out perfectly. I had an absolutely incredible experience at Panda Inn in Pasadena today! I had accidentally made our reservations for Sunday, but Hannah at the reception desk was a total lifesaver. Even though it was my mistake, she went completely out of her way to accommodate us and managed to get us checked in and seated today instead. Her professionalism and kindness started our meal on the perfect note. Once we were seated, the amazing service continued with our server, Victoria. She was phenomenal! Victoria truly went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of, providing detailed recommendations and ensuring every part of our meal was seamless. I think the food is ok for fast food Chinese. Fortune cookies and egg rolls are what I often order and those fortunes are always so corny. Panda Inn is like an antiquated Panda Express. But what I don't understand is how a billionaire like Michelle can be Christian, go to our church and not give us, Epicentre more money. Look Cherngs, pastor John Lo pays himself a measly six digit figure salary and he definitely wants more of your finances. We know you're billionaires so donate more of your money to God by donating to us. We can hear what God is telling us. Andrew, take the Lord's word for it, it is difficult for the rich to enter heaven. Don't be heartless and rob God. It is all His anyway. I mean, Panda Inn's boba is fine but it's not inexpensive. We visited this restaurant during its grand opening and had a wonderful experience with the chicken. However, we had to wait a long time for the service and for our food to arrive, and when it did, it wasn't even the correct order. On our subsequent visits, we encountered several challenges with the service. There were significant delays in receiving our food, and unfortunately, half of our order was forgotten. Additionally, the appetizers and drinks did not arrive before the main courses, which was quite disappointing. When the food finally arrived, we noticed that the chicken and beef had very little meat and consisted mainly of batter. We also found it a bit too sweet and not what we expected, especially after waiting 45 minutes. I remember the quality was much better before the remodel, and I'm hopeful they can return to that standard. read more

After lunch, I discovered that I had been wrongly charged for a Diet Coke and Minced Chicken Lettuce Cups, which I never ordered. When I back home I checked the photo I took for our meal that day, I realized that these items actually belonged to the table next to us, they made a mistake. I called and spoke with the manager, who told me that I would receive a refund. However, the charge still hasn't been refunded until now. I understand that mistakes happen, but it's unacceptable to overcharge customers and not follow through on correcting the error. I went to Panda Inn yesterday and had Alexis as our server, and she was absolutely amazing, especially considering how busy she was with other tables. This was actually my second time having Alexis as our server, and she was just as wonderful as the first time. When I first walked in, I overheard a manager (I believe her name was Christy) speaking negatively about Alexis to some other employees, which honestly made me a little concerned about having her as our server. However, Alexis completely exceeded my expectations. She was attentive, friendly, professional, and handled everything so well despite how busy she was. I finally got to check out the newly remodeled Panda Inn in Pasadena and I was really excited to experience the OG spot. This is the original location from 1973, and it just reopened after being closed in 2023 for a full refresh. The new look is clean and modern, but still feels like it honors the original vibe. It was fun being back. I've always known Panda Inn as the fancier, sit-down version of Panda Express, and this place definitely still feels more upscale. As for the food... it was okay. Honestly, nothing super memorable. The walnut shrimp was good. I'd definitely order that again. But the fried rice was incredibly salty, and I wouldn't get that next time. Instead of a server stopping by to say something like, "Just a heads up, you have about 20 minutes left if you'd like to place any final orders," we've had the payment terminal brought to our table while we were still eating, with no explanation except "Your 90 min are up" . It feels abrupt and honestly disrespectful. A simple reminder ahead of time would make the experience feel much more hospitable while still enforcing the restaurant's policy. I hope management sees this as constructive feedback because I genuinely want this restaurant to succeed. The food is some of the best around, and that's why I continue recommending it. I just believe the level of customer service should match the quality of the food.
