    Purple sweet potato focaccia

Welcoming, charming, and tiny authentic focaccia shop in downtown Hilo run by a truly talented artisanal baker! Pane Nudo has the best focaccia in Hilo, hands down. I haven't tried any of her pastries yet, but they look so tempting, especially the pistachio cookies and fresh baked fruit scones. My favorite focaccia is the uala or sweet potato focaccia with caramelized onions/shallots, Kalamata olives, and feta. Perfect combination of sweet, salty, tangy, fluffy, crunchy, and oily (in a good way)! The fresh tomato focaccia was simple, bursting with fresh tomato flavor, and had the perfect crust. Also tried the pear and honey focaccia. A nice sweet, toasty, sticky treat after the savory focaccias. Pane Nudo has high quality focaccia and so many other scrumptious baked goods. Be sure to stop by, it'll brighten your day and make your stomach happy. :)

Beautiful simple shop with delicious focaccia. It reminds me of the small bakeries in Italy. We tried a few different flavors (free tasting samples). We chose the spicy jalapeno garlic and the turmeric with squash and garlic. It was so soft, fresh and full of flavor! The owner and her Italian mother were very kind and welcoming. I will be visiting anytime I go to Hilo and make sure to bring a lot home!

Cute little fresh bread bakery in downtown Hilo! Shop was easy to find, owner was very lovely and put together our order quickly. The sourdough breads was with beautiful designs etched, the variety of focaccia was simply amazing! In her small fridge behind, she even had tiramisu in jars! Next time I go, I'll be prepared with a cooler bag and ice pack because I love tiramisu! We tried the U'ala focaccia, red peppers goat cheese focaccia and zucchini and chimmichurri focaccia. Everything was delicious!

We tried the Bomboloni and Nutella Coconut croissant during our initial visit. The Bomboloni reminds me of a malasada but I enjoyed the creamy filling of this so much more. We ended up going back on our last day and tried some of the savory options - the goat cheese pesto croissant and then sausage roll were standouts for us. Enjoyed this place so much we hardly took pictures, but everyone should add this as a stop especially if visiting Volcano National Park!

In fact, except Madam Pele does NOT necessarily keep to the same schedule as the bakery, would try to time my Volcano drives to coincide with Friday, Saturday, or Sunday! Hahah. Today got a sampling of Mediterranean scones (savory with olives and delicious seasonings), croissants, danish, and my favorite... the ube cruffin. Holy Moly Batman... that one item was worth the drive alone! Since there really wasn't any real estate in our tummies, we split everything 3 ways... over the course of the next few hours. Two weeks later, still thinking about that ube cruffin! Would definitely do a repeat on that as well as the Medeterranean scones while trying other items. And as the nice couple infront of us in line mentioned, will have to return for the sister deli across the parking lot. Heard it was featured in Guy Hagi's food vlog. And if its good enough for Guy Hagi its where I want to be my next mealtime!
