I found Dave's shop on google, yelped it and took a chance. I could have payed less for a detail to my 2003 WRX - but I wanted a shop that would rock it. I was so pleased with the outcome, the stains in my seats were gone completely, the clay job left my finish factory new. No detail was spared. No pun intended. Drew and his team did a fantastic job with my car. After an ill-fated run-in with a trailer hitch, which put a fist-sized hole in the body of my VW, it now looks almost new. They dealt with State Farm so I didn't have to, and even fixed a few small things (at no additional charge) that weren't included in the insurance claim. Highly recommend! read more

So I found myself in a front-end fender bender and was in need of some body work to get my car back into shape. I was told that Panel Craft has a solid reputation and does great work. [Note: I truly value excellence, attention to detail, and quality when it comes to my vehicles] Dave was most helpful in dealing with my insurance company but that's about the best I have to say about my experience with Panel Craft. My biggest complaint was the poor attention to detail when it came to my car's repairs. The paint job had runs and drips of pooled paint on several of the corners of the hood and side panels. The hood of my car wasn't adjusted properly so one side wasn't flush with the rest of the car. And the worst part, after 2 weeks in delays before it was finished, was when I went to pick up my car as I was driving home my engine temperature shot way up (I only went 5 blocks when this happened). I pulled over, opened the hood and noticed tons of fluid dripping from the front of my car- it smelled super sweet like coolant. I immediately called Dave and told him that something is wrong with the radiator and he said that he test drove my car before I came to pick it up and he said everything was in working order. I immediately turned around and went back to Panel Craft and after 5 days, Dave let me know that there was a hole in the new radiator line and that he was going to replace it for me. I get that these things happen, what I'm not please with is how excuses were given rather than just owning up to the fact that these things happen. So after all of this was done, I thought my car was back in full working order. But when I went to change the oil on my car 2 months later, I found that 3 of the screws to the undercarriage cover were replaced with zip ties- WTF!!!! Did they honestly think this would not be noticed!!! I again immediately went to Panel Craft to show Dave this and at least this time he didn't offer any excuses and seemed embarrassed about this and fixed the situation in short order. Next time I find myself in need to body work, I won't be stopping by Panel Craft. There has to be better shops than this around. read more

Andrew keeps me updated with everything that is going on with my vehicle, and he even works with my adjuster to make sure all parts are covered and being replaced properly. This was my second time to Panel Craft (can't for the life of me remember what I had done the first time). This time husband backed into a pole and the back wouldn't open. They come highly recommended by the folks at Bob's where I get my car fixed. I stopped by and Dave said that he thought it was a pretty easy job and he could do it while I waited. I went for a 35 minute run up San Pablo and came back to find Dave and two of his guys trying to figure out how the hell to get into the panel in the tailgate of my Jeep; apparently the geniuses at Jeep had made this not such an easy job after all. We agreed that he would try something that might crack the inside door panel and that I really didn't care what it looked like, I just wanted it functional. I went off to Berkeley Bowl, came back 1/2 an hour later and he had fixed the door, repaired the panel (despite my saying it was unnecessary), and was done.
