I had an appalling experience at Panepinto Bakery in Middle Village. I waited nearly 15 minutes just to get a cannoli because no one in the back would bring out a fresh batch of cream for the young worker. They forced her to squeeze out the very last bits of an old, almost empty bag of cream that looked like it had been sitting around for weeks. Unsurprisingly, the cannolis were completely spoiled with a discolored, yellowish cream. When I went back to ask for a proper replacement, the worker flatly refused to give me a fresh one and offered to just hand back the money instead of fixing the issue. To make matters worse, he actually took a bite out of my cannoli right in front of me, claimed it was "fine," and tried to hand it back! That is a major health code violation and completely gross hygiene. When I asked for management, he claimed he was the owner alongside another employee. Unprofessional, cheap, and totally unacceptable. Save your money and go elsewhere.Middle Village deserves better. read more

Such a cute little place ! Really great service, everyone was super friendly. The waffles were perfect and the syrup was oddly the thickest syrup I've ever had but it was okay. The amount of sweets to choose from is actually incredible everything looked so good and fresh! Breakfast egg dishes are pretty standard and nothing to write home about, so I'd suggest opting out for a sandwich or a burger. Chicken Marsala Panini with Sweet Potato Fries were simple yet satisfying. Didn't feel bloated from overconsumption of sodium, which was appreciated. Would return for this dish. Almond, pistachio & cranberry, and chocolate & cherry biscotti are a nice treat if you want dessert that's not too sweet and is not that high in calories. Good quality coffee. Came here for the first time to have breakfast. First impression it's a lovely place inside and outside with outdoor seating. I ordered a green smoothie (spinach, bananas, almond milk and peanut butter) and decided to dine outside. The server appeared rush and fluster in providing the menu. She came back maybe 5 minutes later to take my order. I ordered the waffle with fruits. The waffle was fluffy, fresh and delicious with the fresh fruits. I didn't like my smoothie, it was too thick with a heavy taste of the peanut butter. After finishing, I waited for the server to return to pay my bill, she never came back outside. Been going here for a long time. Something has changed unfortunately for the worse. We waited over 30 minutes for breakfast after we ordered with barely anyone in the place and when it came out it was not cooked. Sent it back and waited again. You can clearly see that quality of things are being scaled back. The presentation even went down. I'm surprised actually. I'm not going to go into detail but the servers couldn't care any less about what went on and did not expedite getting the food that was sent back in a timely manner. One of my favorite breakfast meals has been scaled back quality wise and that's probably never going to go back to what it was. Undercooked food is even worse. Hopefully this review gets acknowledged and things change. I will continue to get my coffee and rolls to go but I'm done with the sit down breakfast. read more

I ask for Italian bread and he's reaching for a regular loaf?? I had to stop him and advise him on the seeded semolina loaf. He bags the bread and then starts boxing up the biscotti. He's securing it like Ft Knox! I told him, don't tape it too tight, I'm going to need one for the road. Man, that biscotti was good.. After reading a few of the reviews I have to agree it's hit or miss. If you're looking to grab a quick lunch, you might be need to take it to go. I would give 3.5 stars. So let me start by saying the oat milk latte is always great. Actually perfect. So for me it's a winner cause i have had many but they nail it. I stop in this place once a week as my mom lives in Queens. Sometimes we sit and the servers are clueless but it's fine since we are not in a rush and it's hard to find good service now a days. There is only about 8-10 tables total inside and out. They may need more help as the servers are also behind the counter taking orders and taking phone orders. So WAY too much going on. The lunch is good, I have had the mushroom soup, veggie and chicken wraps with sweet potato fries and all were very yummy. Now the pastries and cakes, we have ordered cakes and they were just okay but very pretty, the taste doesn't merit the price. The cookies are good, we love the Pignoli cookies. The tarts are hot or miss. We have had some good ones and other times they were stale. Fruit tarts were delicious today so they must have been fresh. We've ordered from here quite a few times since the start of the pandemic, and almost everything has been delicious. My husband loves the açaí bowls, so he's gotten those almost every time we've ordered from there, and I tend to get different breakfast items. Crepes, waffles, pancakes, I've ordered them all. My husband also stopped by here once on the way home to get me some treats. He picked me up a red velvet cake pop and some other desserts. I've also ordered their donuts multiple times, and they've always been good. I haven't been a fan of their sandwiches and wraps though, and those are a major miss. I absolutely hated the Pane al Panelle panini, and my husband didn't care for the grilled vegetable wrap. The staff is super friendly and really helpful...however i cannot say the same for the cake...ordered a unicorn cake for my daughter's first birthday...look wise i give the cake a 10/10 however on the taste aspect the cake would be rated below zero..the cake hardly had any cake in it and just had the frosting. I could feel the sugar crunch in each bite. No one at the party had any cake and the coloring in the frosting had a lasting effect. I would recommend tasting the cake before ordering. A pair of moving legs were moving under the Christmas tree, last minute final touches -- lights to wall then the rest of the body appeared and zipped around the counter to take my order. Call me crazy, taste buds could have deceived me, I could have thick tounged my order although it's quite slender -- but my Columbian coffee tasted a bit like Hazelnut. Two sips in and all was right with the world for me. Thinking that I had not the time to eat, I opted to only get coffee. Then as I was preparing to leave, having only been seated for a few short moments (parking lit quickly filling across the streetcar Our Lady of Hope) I took a croissant to go. I really felt welcome here, both staffers were engaging and happy to have served me, I could feel the sincerity shining on me. Some recent reviews mention dips in quality which I can't speak on/haven't experienced because I've only recently started ordering from Panepinto and everything I've had has been delicious! I've had bagels, sandwiches, pastries, coffee etc and there have been no complaints in terms of taste from me or my partner! The chocolate chip cookie is sooo good and FULL of chocolate chunks. They really nailed that one. Bagels are big and fluffy inside, not necessarily chewy like a typical New York bagel but still very delicious in its own way. Also enjoyed the doughnuts, cannoli, chocolate rugala, tiramisu.. I could go on. Rainbow cookies were just okay in my opinion but my partner and niece didn't enjoy them (to be fair we're rainbow cookie connoisseurs and tough critics!). My only complaint is price. Sandwiches can easily cost $15 or so. A bacon egg and cheese is like $7? I would honestly go more often because the food is very good but it feels more like a "special treat" place rather than a regular go-to spot, at least according to my wallet! read more

This review is for a custom order of cupcakes only. First of all the sponge cupcake was disgusting and that was not a butter cream frosting as I ordered, it was more like a whipped frosting. I'm highly disappointed that I paid $56 for 14 cupcakes for my sisters special day (Gender reveal) and the baker was not willing to help me in the least way possible to fix these basic cupcakes. He was way "Too busy" and couldn't make the plain ugly cupcakes come back to life to look as if they're for a gender reveal and not an office potluck. These were basic ass cupcakes at $4 a cupcakes trust me. After leaving extremely upset because the baker refused to help me fix these 14 cupcakes, my mom and I brainstormed and ran to a party store to buy pink and blue sprinkles and bring it back to life. If you need a cake for any special occasion, I highly recommend Panepinto Bakery who is also nycbirthdaycakes.com. My Mom loves to play Roulette and I wanted to get a special birthday cake done for her this year. I googled Roulette Birthday Cake and this bakery was the one of the first to show up. They show up as "NYC Birthday Cakes," and what drew me to work with them was their disclaimer of simplifying the cake ordering process for custom cakes. I emailed the bakery and received a response the same day from Joseph. We emailed back and forth a couple of times till we were both on the same page on what I wanted exactly and then he called to confirm the order. I picked up my order yesterday and I was so happy with it. My mom loved it and she kept spinning the ball and it landed on all her fav numbers LOL! The cake was so delicious and moist as well! Their flavor choices are a bit limited, but quality over quantity right? I got the red velvet with cream cheese frosting and it was amazing! Must have your cake made here! I've gone to this bakery for the past 2 years because we moved into the same neighborhood as it. There is so much to love from their Nutella cronuts to their delicious cakes. My wedding cake and favors were made from this bakery, and let me tell you they were both the "icing on the cake". I sent a picture to the Baker of what I wanted my favors to look like and they came out even better! The cookie was soft when you bit into it and the sugar was not too much, although too much sugar is never a bad thing. The wedding cake was simple, which is what I wanted, but gorgeous. I recently visited to pick up a cake and was actually angry that the smallest cake, which was maybe 5 or 6 inches, was $32. Really?
