My father and I have been going to Panepinto for the past few years and for much of that time it was one of the best bakeries in the area. However, the quality has become increasingly worst. While I understand that times are difficult, that is not an excuse to diminish the quality of pastries. Not only that, but prices remain high. While in the past, the quality made the price digestible, that is no longer the case. My most recent experience was by far the worst. The taste was very poor and suggests cheap ingredients are being used. Unless something drastically changes, I would strongly discourage anyone from going to Panepinto. read more

I've been wanting to try this bakery for a while, but usually couldn't because it was too late when we're in the area. I really needed to custom order a cake for my friend's bday next month, and I know this place does that. So I definitely had to try their cakes. Very nice bakery. I was immediately drawn to these nice green color cookies thinking they have to be pistachio, which I never say no to. Indeed they were. Then I checked out the cakes. They have a variety of mousse, cheesecakes mostly. I got the red velvet and oreo cheesecake. Also got 2 of each variety of cookies to try: pistachio, pignoli, rainbow, and chocolate covered macaroons. Out of the cookies the pistachio and macaroons were the best. The rainbow and pignoli were ok. The red velvet had a lot more cream cheese than cake. I'm not sure if it's supposed to be a cheesecake. It was ok. Oreo cheesecake was really good. It was light. today i went here for breakfast with my friend and i ordered the pancakes and it came out totally raw and i sent it back twice telling the waitress that it was raw so she took it back to the cooks and i apologized for the inconvenience and she brought back the dish back to me i felt like it was the same thing as before that they didn't even try and fix it they put my half eaten pancake on the bottom and put more powder sugar on the pancakes. i sent back my good twice kind you and it came out the same exact way. i asked for the check and they were charging me for something that i didn't even eat and i'm not the type to complain but i was very disappointed how they could serve something raw and expect me not to make a big deal about when i sent it back twice. i asked for the manager and he basically spoke to me and laughed in my face like if i was a 5 year old and has never ate pancakes. n he basically told me that this is how i make my pancakes theses are home made. i told him the dough shouldn't be sticking on to my fork that's not normal pancakes should be fluffy. he said to me that he was going to give me 50% off my bill i told him i didn't even eat the pancakes why am i getting charge for something that wasn't even cook right. He told me i will not charge you for the pancakes and my friends meal and that he wants to never see me or my friend again in his restaurant. Now they have Easter assortment baskets and pastries for sale. They also have gelato, coffees, machiattos, and cappuccinos. I had the Italian Napoleon cake, mini cannoli, and a caramel macchiato. The mini cannoli tasted great. They freshly fill the shell with the filling. The Italian Napoleon cake was creamy and had lots of custard in it. It was great. I really liked the flaky shell of it with confectioners sugar on top too. The caramel macchiato didn't taste like there was any caramel in it though. Tasted more like there was chocolate syrup on top. I would definitely come back to taste their other goodies like the pistachio gelato, and their cookies. They looked great! It's pretty chic and there's also a good amount of seating in there too for people to have snacks or lunch. They sell sandwiches and other things too that are made to order. read more

Fortunately this bakery has outdoor seating, so i took advantage of the idea of normality. I saw this place has pretty good reviews and is literally 5 mins away from my apartment. Parking in the area was very easy, the bakery was clean with a very friendly staff. Now, the food! I had an amazing skirt steak panini on a focaccia bread, it really slapped me in the face. I didn't think this was going to be as exquisite as it was, what was pretty cool is they offered the food with different sides. Fries, sweet potato fries, or a salad. I'm a sucker for fries but we must balance! The steak was on the medium well side which was not bad at all, if I'm going to eat medium well it will always be a skirt steak, the peppers in the sandwich were so tasty and crunchy while the arugula was so fresh. This review is base on the customer service. The person at the counter was so rude, racist and disrespectful. I placed an order for 11 Inis that I picked up in the morning. When I arrived to pick it the order the person at the counter was so unwelcoming. I told him that I wanted to pick up my order and that I wanted to get a few extra Inis to sit and eat. The person at the counter responded with "you already have 11", which why is that an issue. Its a bakery and should have made more than just 11 Inis especially when it was a order done before hand. Absolutely love this place and so happy they opened this bakery . I've came here plenty of times from the food to the staff everything is always amazing . I even passed by the counter once when the male manager was there and was waiting to use the restroom and saw a fresh tray of pignoli cookies and said how I loved those and he handed me one as I was waiting . Things like that really show great customer skills and how they care about the customers coming in. Upon actually tasting the cheesecake at the end of dinner I found it to be on the tart side (dare i say a bit acidy?) there was way too much icing sloppily spread on the bottom of the gram cracker crust (maybe this was there to hold the cake in place on the cardboard?). We ordered a custom LEGO cake at my niece's request for her 7th birthday. The fondant LEGO "bricks" looked amazing. The vanilla cake was moist and light. The cookies and crream filling was delicious. The birthday girl and other guests commented that the cake was too sweet. I have to agree that the sweetness was over-the-top, and that is excluding the fondant, which most guests preferred not to eat. I'm personally not a dessert person and I don't have a sweet tooth, and this is not my bakery of choice. However, the sugar rush was worth it because the taste and textures were absolutely fantastic, in my opinion. I would inquire with Panepinto again if I had a need for a custom cake or other custom items, but I do not patronize them on a regular basis due to disappointing experiences with employees and management in the past. Me and my husband have been wanting to check this place out and we thought what better day to do so then mothers day, we live really close so we just took a walk there. I have been living in Middle village my whole life and somehow always missed this place, moving on! The layers of flavours and textures are amazing not too sweet and just enough espresso flavour I will definitely be paying more attention to there pastries and little cakes next time. This is the new incarnation of the old Panardo Bakery. They rented one of the other store spaces when the old place closed down and expanded. The orientation switched from the counter being parallel to the door to perpendicular, and the kitchen is now a large separate room. They now have space for several small tables. The food quality is as good as it was before. The sandwiches and hot food are still there. What has expanded is the baked products display, and these are as good as ever. My personal favorite is the Oreo Cheesecake which is rich and awesome. His other cakes are just as good. read more
