I've been to many Panera breads and have always had a good experience. Not so much at this location. Was looking for a place to get a cup of coffee and something to eat after an appointment at 9:30 am. Panera was next door to where I was at, so I decided to walk over there for coffee and a bagel. I order a whole grain bagel with cream cheese and coffee. I'm told they are out of whole grain bagels. I tried a sprouted bagel. Again out. I asked what they did have: plain, cheese, cherry. So, I ordered a spinach artichoke souffle. Out, again. Next was a ham and cheese souffle. No go..all they have is cheese only. My last attempt was the chicken and avocado on whole wheat wrap. Bingo, they had it!!! I got my coffee cup and my buzzer. I had my choice of coffee and decided on the regular roast. But when I went to add half and half to my coffee, they were out! I mentioned it to the woman at the counter and she said she would look into if they have any. What? How do you not have cream for coffee at a coffee bar?!?! After a few minutes, my buzzer goes off and I get my wrap. Presentation was definitely lacking when I picked up a huge place with a small wrap on one side of the plate. Made me wonder if something was missing on this big plate with a little wrap. After all this, the wrap was pretty good. Warm, fresh wrap with egg, avocado and slight spicy chicken. The coffee was really week, which was ok, since I didn't have any creamer. It tasted more like water with a hint of coffee. This was my 1st trip to this Panera and my 1st breakfast at a Panera. Not planning on coming back to this location again, but I'd give breakfast another try at a different location.

Awesome iced coffee! I have the 9.00 a month subscription and it more than pays for itself. The staff at the Jefferson location are always awesome whether I do "rapid pick up" or curbside. Pastries and bagels are always fresh and the selection is better the early in the morning you get there. They also have by far the best and freshest breakfast sandwiches. I love the brioche with a perfectly over easy egg and cheddar cheese, just be warned you'll need a bib but if you love a perfectly cooked runny egg this is sandwich for you. I also love the scrambled egg and cheese on ciabatta. The ciabatta is tender and crisp with just the right amount of chew. One suggestion....please offer jelly or jam.

We decided to have a small diaper shower for my coworkers na s me living a theme called it Bagels and babies. I needed bagels to feed about 20 ppl. I stopped by Panera because it was close to my job. I walked in and it smells amazing. It smells of fresh baked bread and the display is filled with beautiful, delectable looking pastries. Once it was my turn I told the young lady what I needed (which I wasn't too sure). She was very patient. I got 1.5 dozen bagels. Mix and match. There was only 2 blue berry bagels and she dropped one I just picked another one. The honey walnut cream cheese is very good and I don't even care for it but I will get it from there The service was very good and quick. I will definitely go back to cop a quick bite to eat.

In the spirit of being fair I'm giving this location 4 stars because my Frontega Chicken Panini was delicious but honestly my experience...Meh. Side note: I hate that Panera changed the pastry recipes. SO DISAPPOINTING, they ruined the cinnamon crunch scone smh. But yea I've gone to this location a couple of times and they have always made my sandwich exactly as instructed. I usually feel comfortable enough to sit down and eat at Panera but this location didn't give me that vibe. Also literally EVERYTIME I've gone their are never enough bagels. I'm not sure if it's b/c ppl are buying them all or they aren't making enough??? But at least my sandwich was tasty!

Just ordered from there and my bun is burnt... Panera is usually amazing but I don't know what happened with quality there.
    Tarana G.

Bun was burnt... sucks cause I love Panera.. maybe just an off day... I'll try again maybe

    I hope it's a fluke
    Dayne N.

Not the quality I am used to from Panera. Noodles were over done and very soft and there was a cream seem to be dried out in the macaroni and cheese. They also gave a much smaller piece of bread I couldn't eat it

I'm pretty sure Panera Bread could've done a better job than this. Supposedly this is a Chipotle Chicken Avocado Melt

Years ago when they first started building this location I was genuinely excited. A fast and healthy option in an area I frequent? How that go wrong? Well, in the beginning they were great. Everything seemed fresh and it was all tasty. That eventually all went down hill. It seems someone must've made some cut backs. The menu has changed and what's replaced it seems to be less quality. I preferred a chicken sandwich with chicken that looks like actual sliced chicken breasts. Today, I got a chipotle chicken avocado melt and let me tell you...disappointed is not the word! I sat in the drive thru longer than needed just to get a sandwich with processed chicken thrown on it and sloppily prepared. I paid $7 for a half of a sandwich that I never took one bite of. It looked disgusting. Also, let me say this. This review isn't just based on this experience. Panera Bread has unfortunately steadily gone down in quality which I think is very sad. People need more fast and healthy options, it would be great if this were one!

My "chicken Caesar" for dine in. Just lettuce & dressing. Plastic container while others had plates & silverware.
    Rachel F.

Ordered a small chicken Caesar salad and a soup. For some reason , they gave me my salad in a plastic container and it only had dressing on it.. lettuce and dressing. No chicken, no cheese, and no croutons. They gave me plasticware instead of silverware to use. My soup was good and was in a normal bowl like other customers' meals. One day my husband ordered to-go from here (a half of a sandwich and an apple as his side). He picked it up and went back to work only to realize that they only gave him an apple. He could not go back since he had an afternoon full of meetings, and they did not refund him since he did not have a receipt. Poor quality control. Poor service. Poor management. I won't be back for to-go nor for dine-in. We've tried both, and I was disappointed not to get what we ordered either time.

I love Panera! So I ALWAYS get a 2 for meal and you should to. That way you don't have to endure the stress of choosing one or the other. I like to switch it up from a salad and a Sammy to a salad and a soup or if I'm really feeling fun a soup and Sammy. My faves are the tomato mozzarella Sammy, broccoli cheddar soup, and the strawberry summer salad. So cool stuff, they have an app where you can order your food to go and it will be at the door for pick up. So if you need a quick lunch, whoop there it is. Also, they know their baked goods are crack, it's totally why they give you that piece of bread with your meal, it's a lure. And then, if you can believe it, they give you any baked good for a mere 99cents when you buy a meal. They know what they are doing. Don't get the pecan braid /roll. Trust me. It's not really crack, but it is crack-ISH.

    Romaine stems from the salad.
    Lauren C.

Overpriced and underwhelming. Broccoli soup was ok but the Thai salad was gross. FULL of Romaine stems and WAY too much dressing. Yuck

Where has this little gem been all my life? :)…read more My family and I went to eat here last night for my dad's birthday. I've read about this restaurant and wanted to give it a try. We came at 5pm and we were one of the only few customers that was inside dining. Let me first start off by saying, the exterior and interior is such a beautiful and modern built establishment, decorated with the cutest Christmas decor. We sat down and immediately were greeted by our waitress with a smile (I hate to admit this, but she was blonde with medium to long hair and I forgot her name but she was amazing) We ordered the Hummus for an appetizer which was very creamy and delicious served with pita bread, cucumbers and carrots. The entrees we ordered were the Salmon Grillé with cream spinach and the Byronz Sandwich with the chips. My daughter had the Salmon and she said it was delicious but kinda on the salty side and the spinach was very good! My Byronz sandwich was delicious. The bread was toasted just right, piled high with meat and just enough of the sauce. The chips were nice and crispy as well. I even had leftovers for lunch the next day! I see they serve brunch which I am sure is a huge hit. We will definitely be back to try other menu items...thank you!

The food tastes fine, there's no major issues culinarily; it just never meets expectations to the point my wife and I roll our eyes and groan every time it comes up in the "Where should we go for dinner?" conversation. The Vodka freeze is one of the best drinks in Baton Rouge IMO, they definitely have that going for them. Just never overly impressed with the food.

We found Parrain's Seafood while searching for authentic Louisiana food and a good po'boy/seafood…read morespot before making our drive back home to Houston. We were in Baton Rouge helping our grandson move into his dorm as an incoming freshman at LSU, and Parrain's kept coming up in our searches and reviews. We decided to give it a try, and I'm SO glad we did! We visited on a Sunday afternoon around 2:30 p.m., and when I tell you EVERYBODY and their family was there... I mean everybody! The parking lot was packed. There is plenty of parking, but there were so many people that we still had to hunt for a spot. Thankfully, we found one under a shade tree because it was HOT! When we walked up, we fully expected a long wait. There is plenty of outdoor seating for people waiting, and I also noticed they have both steps and an accessibility ramp leading to the entrance. My daughter and I sat down while my husband stood in line to put our name on the list. About five minutes later, he was waving for us to come inside! Apparently, many of the people waiting were large groups and families coming from church, but since there were only three of us, they were able to seat us almost immediately. HUGE plus! Once inside, it was BUSY, BUSY, BUSY. It took our server a little while to initially get to us, but considering how packed the restaurant was, it really wasn't bad at all. Our waitress was very nice, and I was actually impressed with how quickly our food came out. Now let's talk about the FOOD!! We first ordered the onion rings for an appetizer... super delicious I ordered the fried shrimp platter, and those shrimp were fried to PERFECTION! Crispy, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. The meal also came with salad, fries, hush puppies, and a side. The hush puppies were SO GOOD! They are shaped almost like little donut holes... crispy on the outside and soft and savory on the inside. Delicious! For my side, I chose the fresh green beans instead of the dirty rice. Unfortunately, those were the one thing I didn't enjoy. They didn't have much flavor to me and seemed a little undercooked. Next time, I'll definitely choose another side. My husband ordered the fried catfish platter with dirty rice, coleslaw, and fries, and he loved everything. I tasted his coleslaw, and OH MY GOODNESS! Get the coleslaw! It was different from any coleslaw I've had before. It has whole peanuts in it, which sounds unusual, but somehow it WORKS! The peanuts add this wonderful crunch and flavor. It was SO good. And the French fries!! I've never seen fries cut this way before. They're almost shaped like little Scoop Fritos, with a crispy outside and soft potato inside. So unique and really good! My daughter ordered the catfish strips and fries from the kids' menu. These weren't processed little nuggets... they were actual pieces of catfish cut into strips, and she really enjoyed them. She also ordered the crab fingers, and those were another 10/10! They were incredibly well-seasoned with a little spice and tons of flavor. I tasted one and wanted MORE! I'm watching my sodium intake, so I behaved myself, but they were absolutely delicious. Overall, Parrain's was a 10/10 for us. The only thing I wouldn't personally order again would be the green beans. Everything else, from the shrimp and catfish to those amazing hush puppies, unique fries, crab fingers, and especially that coleslaw, was DELICIOUS. Yes, it was crowded and lively, but we still received really good service and didn't have to wait nearly as long as we expected. With our grandson now attending LSU, we'll be making plenty of trips back to Baton Rouge, and Parrain's has officially made our list of places we will be visiting again!

I had really been looking forward to trying Parrain's Seafood, but unfortunately my experience was…read moredisappointing. Our waitress, Kate M., didn't have the best customer service. She came across as short, unfriendly, and overall not very pleasant. I first ordered a Banana Foster's Martini, but she came back and said they didn't have the ingredients. No problem--I asked for an Espresso Martini instead. A few minutes later, after bringing everyone else's drinks, she returned and simply said they couldn't make that either and asked if I wanted something else. At that point, I just declined. When it was time to order, our table had nine people. She took my husband's order, then went around the table taking everyone else's order. By the time she got back to me, she said, "Okay, is that it?" I had to remind her that she hadn't taken my order yet. I ordered the crab and corn bisque, a salad, and the stuffed catfish with creamed spinach. The salad came out quickly and was very good. Then everyone else at the table received their meals while I only received my bisque. After waiting, I was told my stuffed catfish "didn't come out right" and had to be remade. At that point, I honestly wondered if it was a joke. It wasn't. By the time my entrée arrived, everyone else was nearly finished eating. To the restaurant's credit, they did remove the stuffed catfish from my bill, and I appreciated that. However, the entire experience left me feeling overlooked from start to finish. My biggest suggestion would be for our waitress to work on her customer service. A smile goes a long way. Saying things like "Give me that plate," slamming cups onto the table, and appearing annoyed throughout the meal doesn't create a welcoming dining experience. Hospitality is just as important as the food, and I hope this feedback is taken constructively.

They didn't have a nut cracker or anything, so I guess that crab leg was decorative? I ordered a house salad, and by dictionary definition I guess it was a salad. It had three ingredients: wilted iceberg lettuce, croutons, and a couple of fridge-aged cherry tomatoes of the flavorless variety. Bet the profit margin on that salad is HUGE!
