Very poorly managed Paneras. I , along with five other people waiting in line were there was but one clerk taking orders. It was 5:58PM on 3/25/25. The clerk that waited on my wife and I forgot to offer the rewards during our order. There for the $3.00 rewards was overlooked by her for no reason other than not being properly trained. It wouldn't be so bad but things like this happen on more occassions then you would think. The food is good however one server was throwing bags on the counter waiting for an accident. read more

Tried the iced coffee. Was horrendous. Was fooled by the menu item description. Was actually liquid in one of those chiller machines that tasted like a watered down coffee mix. If that liquid been sitting there all day just churning, off course it's going to taste like sewer water. If they actually did what the advertisement said, take a fresh brewed pot of coffee and poured it over ice when ordered, it would taste a thousand times better. False advertising. Not surprised. They are always out of bread. The name of the place is Panera BREAD and yet if you order anything after 5PM odds are pretty good that they'll be out of French Banquette. Want a sandwich? Be prepared for 1/3 to 1/2 of the bread options to be unavailable. Want to buy some bagels for the next morning? Odds are they have none. My family loves to eat at Panera, but the fresh baked bread is one of the reasons. This is an consistent problem. In the last week alone we ordered from them twice and in both cases most of the breads were "out of stock." If you're running out of bread 2.5 hours before closing then you have a problem. I'd understand if it happened once in awhile, but it's a constant problem. On numerous occasions we have cancelled $100+ take out orders because by the time we reached checkout, the bread options were gone. The staff is super friendly. The food is good. But the person(s) responsible for deciding how much bread to make really needs to reconsider their decision-making. read more

Ordered two coffee totes at 6:45 for a 7:30 pickup. Arrived right at 7:30 & was told my order was processing. Got an automated email from Panera at 7:36 apologizing for the wait. At 7:50, after 2 other customers who pre-ordered totes came in & got their orders ahead of me, another person attempted to look me up by the order # I provided them. Because I ordered through the app, they didn't see my order and never fulfilled it. I'm now at the 30 min mark waiting and am hoping to get my order soon. Moral of the story - they need either (a) more staff or (b) need a better system in place since it looks like they have disparate efforts going on with some orders inputted via phone; some the website, some in person, and no centralization. If my company didn't order our office lunch here once a month or so I would never eat at this particular location. Not sure what the disconnect is with this location but EVERY TIME we order from here there is something wrong or missing. I get it sometimes things get overlook, but EVERY TIME is ridiculous. There have been times a co-workers entire lunch was left off. Now is if that isn't bad enough the quality of the food at this location is subpar. Lettuces & vegetables look like they're expired or close to it. The presentation of our food is like Stevie Wonder himself is back there making the plates. It's beyond bizarre how someone could package up food for a customer, let alone another business in town lunches w/ out thinking "hmmmm this doesn't look appetizing". Again this is EVERY TIME! We've complained by phone & sent in surveys asking about our orders but management has the same "I'm sorry we'll try better next time" song and dance. Third time Door Dashing here and 3rd time missing food! This time it's my dinner! So I have none! Where's my SOUP! Defeats the purpose if your meal isn't in the bag $60 plus per order! What's the point of offering curbside pickup if they aren't going to bring the food to the car? We first tried the curbside option over the summer on the way to a get together and were picking up a bunch of bagels that we had ordered the day before. My husband rolled his eyes when I told him I wanted to leave a half hour earlier just in case of any issues with the order but it turns out we needed that extra time. When we arrived we hit the "I'm here" button on the app and it was nearly 20 minutes before they brought out our bagels. I decided to give them another try for lunch the other day because I had my one year old with me and didn't want to bring her inside since she can't wear a mask. I ordered before leaving the house and it said it would be ready in 15 minutes. I showed up after 20 minutes and again hit the "I'm here" button on the app and it said someone would be right out with my order. I noticed several people going inside, ordering, and leaving while I was still just sitting there. After another 20 minutes I finally called the store and sure enough my order had been ready. It's not only inconvenient that they don't seem to have a good system down for the curbside pickup, but also that you can't really track the order once you get there like you can at Chick Fil A or other places. I don't want to bother them by calling if they're preparing my order and planning to bring it out, but now I wish I would have just called them sooner. Days old food under tables, bathrooms are nasty, walls in dining area have old food on them. Tables are not cleaned much as they always have food on them. 2 days in a row. Same food on floor. The attendant waited on the lady in front of me; then told me, not in a friendly way, "I be with you in a minute."; then turned her back to me and proceeded to do something behind her. After about three minutes, I walked out. I think the staff could use some training. read more

Instead of retrieving the loaf for me, your cashier wandered off. Another cashier proceeded to sell the same loaf to the next person in line while my cashier was wandering. They gave the bread to the next person instead of me?!?!? Really?!?!? After I already paid, you sold the same product to someone else. When confronted, your staff was 'Too busy' to fix the problem. "Lunch rush". You even messed up my coffee; didn't give me what I paid for. I even paid extra for an additional shot of espresso. Twice in the same order, you didn't give me what I paid for. Wasted 20 minutes in line to have you take my money and not give me what I paid for. Waited another 10 minutes for coffee that you didn't even get right!!! No chance I was going to wait another 10 minutes for you to 'fix' what you should've gotten right the first time. Horrible experience today. I have really tried to accept that this Panera location may have experienced a plethora of uncontrollable variances (high turnover, etc.) and I, personally, maintain a complete understanding and high-level of respect to individuals who deal with the demand and labor-intensive qualities of achieving customer satisfaction in the food service industry (being that I've worked in the food service industry), but I wish they would SHUT THIS LOCATION DOWN and start from scratch!!! I love this Panera. It has ample power outlets and I go here to work all the time usually ordering 1 or 2 full meals. I used to go to Starbucks but the food here is just so much better. Weekend wait too long at Big Bob's or IHOP? Slide on over to Panera. You'll have your food and be done eating in less than the time it would take you to get seated at one of those. I greatly prefer the breakfast menu to the lunch offerings. I specifically like the non-bagel sandwiches. The only negative was that they were OUT OF plates. Instead of wrapping our 4 sandwiches in wax paper or foil or putting them into a to-go box or SOMETHING they put 2 sandwiches on each plate. For 4 people. So we hovered over our shared plates and had to use napkins as plates. REALLY? That is the best problem solving you could muster? One of the sandwiches had a large piece of egg shell stuck to the outside. I listened to a 5 minute conversation between 2 employees about how difficult it is to change the paper towels. While I know it is somewhat lame to rate a place that pretty much nobody is going to look up because we have all been there at least one gajillion times, I am sitting here right now taking advantage of free wifi and a yummy bagel and I feel obligated to voice my opinion. Yelp is addictive in that way. So as far as Panera goes, this one is pretty fantastic. Same food as every other (I assume), but the service is always way friendly. I have only seen about two dudes working at any given time, but all of the girls are very peppy and very excited to be serving their Panera clientele. In this economy, employees like that are key. I mean, I'm not Panera fan to begin with. I think their food is woefully overrated - soups taste like they're canned, sandwich meats taste like processed deli meats, etc. That being said, it was the closest semi-healthy option to where I was working, so I chose to stop here. The problem with the Lexington Park/California region is that, seemingly, everyone and their mom (and step mom and grand mom and god mom) breaks for lunch at the same minute. Roads are packed, parking lots are packed, and lunch spots are packed. Most places can deal with this with a smile on your face...but not Panera. The staff seemed to be ridiculously overwhelmed with what appeared to be, based on previous experiences, a normal lunch rush here. They weren't quite rude, but they were close to it. The layout of this place is not so great either. The dining area is fine, but the pick-up area is narrow and small. Not good when you have 9 plates sitting on the counter and 9 people waiting to pick them up, in addition to 5 more people getting their drinks because their food isn't even close to being up yet. Poor. Went here expecting a nice treat to cure a long night of drinking. First flaw: all 5 coffee dispensers were bone dry. Had about 20 people pissed as hell looking for their daily dose to no avail. The manager saw me standing in the corner, heartbroken over my empty coffee cup. She whispered to me some things that cannot be shared, and filled up my cup. That was nice of her to do that. The Bacon Turkey Bravo was not nearly as good as normal. Maybe because I ordered a cold cut sandwich at 10am, clearly wasn't thinking straight. Second flaw: the meat still had frost on it. When I reached the frost, I was first shocked, but then I warmed up to it. It woke me up. Cleared my mind. And ridded my headache. Maybe a thank you is in order. The service and the staff are great. The food is pretty good. I really miss the asiago roast beef, which they have discontinued. They replaced it with a steak with the same basic ingredients. As for the wi-fi it's free but, it proves to be a challenge to get connected after 11am. read more
