Had breakfast there on our way to Florida. Coffee was great as usual and I appreciate that panera offers Almond milk as option for those that don't do dairy. My sandwich with avocado, tomato and spinach (the only vegan version your can make) was good but my husband's egg, sausage and cheese on ciabatta was laughable. It was so tiny we couldn't belive it. $5 for something so small. He had to get cinnamon Crunch bagel on top of that sandwich to be full. Sometimes you just have to have Paneras! But I have never been in this one without my order being wrong. And forget about getting a $9.00 loaf of bread anytime of day as they are ALWAYS out, same with bagels. I wanted a dozen last time I was there, I could only get 6 and not what I wanted! I'm not sure I could give any place a less than 4 star rating when I'm meeting up with one of my most favorite people in the world. This Panera was picked by my friend. She was working from home and lived in the area and we needed a place to meet. We were supposed to meet for lunch - BUT - she said she was just getting coffee and she was paying for me. I earn more $$ than her and used to be her mentor - so while I let her, I decided to only order a cookie and a coffee. I looked for this one kind of cookie Panera used to have - a delicious gluten free chocolate delight. It was simply amazing. I discovered it when a friend with food sensitivities brought a box of pastries from Panera and this cookie looked the most normal. (I am not gluten sensitive) This cookie was more delicious than any brownie or cookie I've ever eaten. And sadly, I have not seen it at Panera since then. That being said, I got a simple sugar cookie with Royal icing. It was very good. I also got a coffee. And here's my gripe. Panera has borderline at best decaf in their urns. More often than not - it's not even hot - usually quite cold. At least this time, it was hot enough to show a little steam - but barely. Regardless, I was there for the company. I do like that when you are eating in, you can top off your coffee at the self-serve bar. At least I've never been told I can't. I used to work from the local Panera during summers when hubby was home (I work from home and need some space) - but that ended with COVID when I built a home office. Anyways, we grabbed a table by the door and were able to have a great conversation. While we were there, my friend received multiple calls and texts from family putting in their orders for her to bring home. I guess word got out she was at Panera. And she has 6 children and other relatives at home. So the only down side was the less than stellar decaf. But Panera is Panera - solid quality and consistency. So, I'm not a typical Panera customer and frequently refer to the company as "Panera Steakhouse" because of their insanely high prices. However, they ran a deal for 3 months of free coffee to promote their new coffee subscription. So, in my mind, I thought "Brian, you like coffee. Go ahead and treat yo' self." So, I signed up, ordered a large iced coffee with light half/half and one sugar from this location in Canal Winchester. The coffee was ready upon arrival, tasted pretty good, and they even gave me a free cookie. I thought I had just hit the jackpot and it became my new morning routine. There was no doubt in my mind that I would keep this subscription forever. Fast forward two weeks and 10 free coffee orders later... of the 10 coffees only three of them were made correctly and only two of them were made in under the advertised 10 minutes. One time I waited 18 minutes for a coffee and they just handed me an empty cup for me to make it myself. Attached is a picture of today's iced coffee with LIGHT cream. It was a large cup of milk. After I took this picture, I dumped it out and went back in to make another coffee myself. If I'm going to have to make the coffee myself every time, I might as well just make it at home in the Keurig. It'll be made faster, correctly, without frustration, and more conveniently. So, despite it being free, continuing to get my morning Java at this location is simply not worth it. That's right, the free coffee isn't worth it. Also, I sure as hell won't be renewing the subscription once the free promotion is over. read more

So, let me first start off by saying that I absolutely LOVE Panera! I do. I love their soups, their salads, and their sandwiches. However, I do not like their coffee! (Insert gag face). I am not sure if it's just this location's coffee or if it's all locations, but I definitely do not like their coffee! My husband and I recently signed up for the unlimited coffee promotion that Panera is having and let me tell you - I have tried every coffee (hot and iced) and every cream/sugar variation that they have - I've literally tried everything to enjoy this coffee promotion; however, have not enjoyed any of the coffees that I have ordered. I now just order a large hazelnut coffee to go (it's free). Sadly, I will not be continuing the subscription once the promotion is over. Aside from the taste of the coffee, the service has not been great here either. More than 50% of the time that I have ordered coffee through this promotion, I've been asked to make the coffee myself. My husband - who wrote a review about his own experience (through the Panera website) has been asked to make his coffee more than 75% of the time since writing his review and has overheard snide remarks and witnessed eye rolls from the employees since posting his review. Going forward, I will continue to order my soups, salads, and sandwiches through the drive-thru as this location is a convenient location for me and seems to be the only pleasant experience that I've had at this location. read more

The lady at the front desk was super welcoming and brought a bright attitude to the room. Not sure what all the bad reviews are about, but I can tell you the customer service here is incredible. I worked as a trainer at Chick-fil-A for 2 years, training people on customer service and fast delivery. Less than 30 seconds after leaving the register and walking towards the drink station, the food was ready! Hot and fresh. We ate it so fast I forgot to take a picture! but honestly food was great, place is clean and well kept together. I used to eat here all the time. They just kept taking away all the dishes I liked. They also kept decreasing portions and increasing prices to the point where we couldn't justify eating there anymore. But that's not why I'm giving it one star. We had a gift card so we thought we'd try some of our old favorites, the Mac and cheese and the Asian sesame chicken salad. The Mac and cheese was cold so I had to reheat it myself. Once hot, it wasn't bad, pretty close to what I remember. The salad was flavorless. It's 90% lettuce and costs $11. $11 for a bowl of lettuce with 6 pieces of flavorless chicken, 10 crispy strips and too little dressing. It's a joke. Do yourself a favor and avoid Panera in general. Unless you like paying premium prices for REALLY sub par quality food. To top it all off, there were some VERY wilted/rotten pieces of lettuce in the bowl. You pick up order, (on your own), check your order because the last time you didn't and got charged for something that was out of stock.... but no one informed you or credited your order. Same thing for my order the other day. I got charged for the whole order but one item was out of stock but no one audits or checks the order. I wonder how many customers they're doing this to? No one is paying attention. If you don't check your own order, Panera employees do not even inform you or credit your check that you paid for something they're out of of. read more

Second event of failure to execute a take-out order. Employees are stressed and unconscious of customers. First time, got order wrong. Second time, couldn't produce the order on time. Watched the "cooks" stack-up unprocessed take-out bags. Fumble any process that was possibly to be a production line. Asked for a refund, cashier suggested I return "to the back" to inquire if it was ready. Hmm .. I left. They got the money, it was a standard day of business for Panera. I would give a zero if possible because the service experience I had was atrocious. I asked what soup they have and they tell me they are out of a lot of soups but named off 3 soups. I asked for the tomato and then ordered a grill cheese since they go together real good. I also ordered a grilled chicken sandwich and told them I only wanted the chicken. I was getting it for my dog because he has gotten sick the last couple of nights and I wanted something easy on his stomach. Only reason I went there was because they had grilled chicken. I get my bag and ask where is the soup. They then tell me they didn't have any soup. I'm like thinking at this point this is messed up but the main reason I came was for the chicken and it's like 8:30 when I went in so I leave and get home and guess what? The only thing in my bag is the grilled cheese, no f...... chicken. At this point it's almost 9:00 so I call and the manager could not have been ruder. Of course I didn't have a receipt either. I will never go to that Panera again. Lousy customer service all around from ordering to delivery to management. Don't waste your time going to this overpriced Fast Food restaurant if you expect to get what you order and what your told is not based in reality and once you leave their attitude changes, they are no longer nice and polite like they are to your face. I placed my first online order, drove up to the window, gave my name and was told I needed to come in but ok. Went to the counter, young lady did not at first know what to do with me. Finally sent me to pick up. This was funny, second young lady kept trying to change my name and order. I was finally sent to 'rapid pickup?" where I found my order sitting on a shelf. My biggest issue is no one knew the correct procedure, other that to come into the store. The app should tell me to pick up at RPU. I am a believer in " tell me what you want me to do." They brought the wrong order I called and they kept telling me they deliver through doordash and I have to call them. I told them to remake my order and I will come pick it up they tried to tell me I can't do that I asked for a GM who told me to come in. I wanted to get a refund for my delivery fee and tip they said I had to call doordash which I did and they told me Panera has to do the refund because I paid them directly, Panera was denying this as well. Let me start off by saying that they are consistent-- consistent at getting my order wrong every single time. I have to agree with one of the reviews here-- I love Panera Bread as my go-to for fast food, but the service is terrible in Canal Winchester. They're very slow to make orders even when it's not busy. They also often times make mistakes on orders. The main reason why I'm writing this review is so that their employee, Alisha, reads this or is at least aware of this review by word of mouth. She decided to be rude today. Let's start with the fact that I speak Italian, not French or whichever pronunciation she was using. Today, she decided to correct me on the way that I pronounced, "brioche". Just FYI Alisha, depending on which country you're in, this word is pronounced differently. I happened to pronounce it the Italian way and have spent a month in both countries. Alisha, if you want to be politically correct, when someone orders a chicken panini, maybe you should tell your customers that Panera got it wrong and that it should actually be 'panino'. 'Panini' is plural in Italian for the word sandwich. So the literal translation on ordering a 'chicken panini' in English is, 'chicken sandwiches', not 'chicken sandwich'. So Alisha, if you want to correct me since you're apparently fluent in French, please, message me so that you can teach me French and I'll teach you Italian... I speak 3 different languages and I love learning new languages. read more

20 minute wait for simple order. The kitchen had only one person assembling orders while three others stood around waiting for meals to be handed to them to hand out. They also were still stocking numerous items into the kitchen line at 5:50pm dinner time - totally unprepared. Poor management for this day of 2/17/17. Furthermore Panera as a whole is such a ripoff. Every time I go back (once a year) - just smaller portions and higher prices. I paid about $9.50 for a lousy pick two - only to get a dinky 8 oz cup of thin french onion and small flimsy salad. Mon 10/9 I had a online order to pickup for a business meeting . . I honestly wasn't sure how the process worked - if it is online - the order "drops" for prep 10 minutes before the time selected (FYI;) (catering works a little differently) . . I was driving by early and thought I would just pop in and see if it was ready - this team and the manager on duty - a lovely professional young woman - couldn't have been more professional or accommodating. I was on my way to the Starbucks drive-thru and noticed that the Panera in the same shopping area had a drive-thru, so I decided to order coffee at Panera. I also had a craving for an almond croissant and wasn't sure if Starbucks offered them. The young lady at the drive-thru was very pleasant. I asked for the dark roast coffee with a little half and half - the coffee was not dark roast. It was watery, had lots of half and half (the color was very light brown) and tasted like they may have mixed a bit of flavored coffee with it. The young lady at the window informed me that "he" might have overfilled the coffee - guess she didn't think to check to see if the very hot coffee was filled to high! Of course, it was filled to the top and and I had to throw some out in order to drink it. The almond croissant was not good at all. It didn't taste like a bakery-made almond croissant, but I suppose they're not rolling the dough at 4 am and grinding almonds to make the paste. With respect to Panera baked goods, I've only had their seasonal cookie cut outs, which are yummy. Guess, I'll head to Starbucks - the coffee is burnt but it's consistently burnt, so I know what I'm getting. read more

Your canal winchester location in ohio has been the worst experiance! We came specifically for the french onion soup, which they said they discontinued it. Then we order different items which is fine, but then they were out of french baguettes , so we had to get chips, then they were out of the cup sizes we ordered, then out of the chicken noodle soup we ordered, as well as the bread bowls. Then out of coffee, i mean who can run a good buisness without any of the things on your menu avaliable! I love panera, and spend ALOT of money there as I travel a lot. This panera got my order wrong completely not once, but twice in a row! Missing chips, missing baguette, wrong sandwiches, and all we got was a pastry and half ass apology. Really disappointed in this new locations lack of attention to orders and not treating loyal customers properly. Most paneras I go to offer better tactics for making up for such constant headaches.
