Panera bread used to be my go to spot for studying but I don't think I will be back to this location. First off, this one lady went out to smoke and returned to the ordering counter without washing her hands or anything. Personally I don't care for cigarette particles on my food. As i went to find a place to sit, i had a hard time finding a table with an outlet and the Second of all, the temperature in this place is ice cold and the carpet is nasty. I went there only for a bowl of onion soup. The soup was delicious! The guy making the soup was friendly and polite. He was the highlight of the visit. The cashier could have cared less if I were there or not. The store was OK, however, our table legs were about to fall off. I have recently formed the habit of coming in to Panera before I make my way to the office. It is better than I remember it being years ago. Also, mornings tend to be FAR more quiet than lunchtime. But mostly I come here because I think the menu changes they have made with its "all-natural" ingredients has made a significant difference in quality. Today I got the Greek yogurt and mixed berries so not much exciting to report there (it was delicious and just the right amount as always). The associate was courteous but not not overly accommodating. Honestly, I was dragging too so I wasn't concerned with her low key demeanor. The only real drawback I encountered today were multiple dirty tables. I had to search for a place to sit and finally sat at a table that hadn't been wiped down. When I walked in and up to the register the lady working the register didnt even say anything, so I just started telling her what I wanted. First of all, I was disappointed that they didnt have the Baja Mac and Cheese at this location, because that's what I went in for. I also wanted a Prickly Pear Hibiscus drink and they didnt have that either. I asked a worker if they had it, because I thought I may have been overlooking it, and she said "if you dont see it over there we dont have it". Okay... thank you. When they called out my name to give me my order I checked it and it was wrong. I didn't order a salad, and there was salad in the bag. So I told a worker, and she fixed that. Then I checked it once more, and my sandwich was missing some toppings, so I had to ask her again to fix that. Stopped here on my way to work, they had been open for a short time and I was the only customer. And yet, it took them forever to put the muffins in a bag and make my coffee drink. Marvelous Place. The entire Team acts in a highly Professional and meant to care for customers. Few people worth mentioning are Kathleen - General Manager-who is awesome, very quiet, nice, cares and talks only sense. Her Asst Managers like Austin, Sherry, Brenda -they travel extra mile all the time. You can get the food you want. That's amazing. Austin knows the job. Aaron is very nice and helpful as well. Bernadina is very quiet, does her job promptly, sincerely with a smiling face. They can replace or if it less cooked, they can do anything to make that happen better. Botched the order all up and literally gave me Mac and cheese that was still frozen in the middle. Manager and employees just joking around and causing the line to build up. My food was served on a dirty plate and in a dirty bowl, they put napkins over the crusted food to cover it up. Manager was more concerned with joking around with his employees than doing his job. I don't have much to say about Panera Bread. The place is always busy but no one ever seems happy eating here. It's like there's a shared hallucination that Panera Bread is delicious, but the illusion is shattered the moment anyone digs into their meal and they're angry at themselves for being duped once again. I've never gotten food poisoning from the place, so that's a plus. A car accident happened while eating here at this present moment and that's by far the most memorable thing that's ever happened to me at a Panera Bread. Everybody knows Panera and either loves it or prefers fried food somewhere else, so this a review of the particular location/franchise of Panera. Well, I am so glad that there is a healthy option near the Tanger Outlets, so the location is good for me. I still would love a Panera in Mount Pleasant but anyway, this location is good for the outlet/Sam's club shopper. There is rarely a line which is great but the problem here is with service. Every time I see a new menu offering, like a new salad or soup, I ask the person behind the register about it. Other than reading the description, I have yet to meet a worker at this location who can tell me one thing about the food. Is that weird? Example: "what's the difference between the Thai chicken salad and the Asian chicken salad?" Answer: "um, I don't really know". I find this off-putting because if the person behind the register can't tell me, then who can? So this has consistently happened at this location. Then, today, I ordered the Thai chicken salad and was happily tucking in when I noticed that there was a distinct lack of chicken. As in nada. The man at the food line quickly tossed some chicken in it when I went back but still... a little disconcerting. And finally, the reason for my lingering dissatisfaction at this Panera location is because the inside is a little run down. The bathrooms are dirty, the walls and carpet look dingy and the interior of the restaurant seems a little sad. Otherwise, it is a typical Panera. read more

My five star Friday review goes to Panera for making the best asisgo steak sandwich around! Also dear me the pastries are so good!!!!!! The soups are really amzing as well. Broccoli cheddar oh my!!! The prices are pretty fair and they have a lunch special, get a lunch and a drink and a desert for only 99 cents! Sounds like a plan! The restaurant is clean and the trash never seems to be overflowing. Now on to the restrooms, yes they are clean and smell good. Two separate events. I made an online catering order same morning and requested delivery around 12:30. Only to later get calls that they were unable to deliver. It caused an inconvenience but ok we were able to pick up and they refunded the original charges. Couple of weeks later placed an online order pick two and an additional soup and the second person in the order, ordered a salad. Upon receipt. My order was totally incorrect. Sandwich had mayo and bacon and some requested items were excluded. Salad also had bacon and excluded items and no soup at all. Called to correct order, never received the corrected order. We later found out it was erroneously delivered to the wrong office. We requested a refund as both orders were paid for, and three weeks later, still no refund. Needless to say, I'm done with my occasional Panera Bread orders. read more

I really like this location as far as the food quality and onsite service. I have never had any issues until I started using their delivery service. I work in a very busy office and rarely actually leave for lunch. When they started delivering, I was super excited! I have really not had much luck with delivery services. Only issues with this particular Panera Bread is the cleanliness and customer service. We asked that our order be take-out, yet the prepared it as dine-in. When I need a good salad, Panera is at the top of my list. The ingredients are always fresh and filling. The Fuji Apple Chicken Salad has these apple crisps that for me are the star of the salad. The Greek Salad is pretty standard but once you add the Panera chicken raised without antibiotics, it makes for a great meal. The sandwiches and panini's are also rather tasty although I mostly order the salads. The iced green tea is superb, but ask for it without ice so it is not diluted. Panera offers rapid pickup where you order and pay online, then just grab your food from the pickup shelf and avoid the line. read more

This Chain is by far, in my opinion the best "Fast Food" Always fresh, always clean with ample seating and WiFi for all. It has been a long time since I frequented a Panera & when I went to pay here discovered that I had a treat waiting since my birthday in June. It's a great choice if you want something relatively healthy but in a hurry & just want to grab a bite. This place is your spot. I love that it's near Tanger Outlets, the Auditorium & many Hotels. The last time I was at Panera was a few years ago when staying at a local hotel here in North Charleston I frequented this place which serves the purpose of satiating the hunger pangs while shopping or running errands. The staff are friendly fast & efficient. The sandwiches, soups and pastries are always top notch & you really can't go wrong. They have "Pick 2 Option' which is great. Either a small salad & a half sandwich, or a Soup & Sandwich. Choices involved with all. It appears that this location is always busy. Has to be a good sign, right? When I am up here again & needing to fill the hunger pang void this will be my go to spot. No problem with parking as it's in a little strip mall. Good to know a tried & true chain always delivers what one expects. So if you are in N. Besides the ever-decreasing portion sizes (which seem to be at all of their locations) I have no complaints for this location. A complaint of the management. When I was ordering I had asked about the "summer of Wishes" Make A Wish foundation campaign. The counter girl had no idea what I was talking about until I pointed to the change box on the counter. She then very degradingly told me I could put change in the box and the change will go to charity. I told her I understood that but I don't have change and would like to contribute on my order with a credit card. She asked and said "no." And left it at that. I then ordered a flip flop cookie and later saw this the attached sign on the doors saying my cookie purchase would have contributed (but I used my free pastry item unknowingly). THEN I picked up my order and they got my salad wrong. I accepted the order and said I wouldn't waste it. I then asked for the manager (who was standing right at the counter pickup) and also explained the Make A Wish situation. She seemed disinterested and just shrugged her shoulders and said OK. And I told her I feel like it's a training opportunity and got the response, "it is...".
