Someone was working on a broken freezer in the dining room and another guy was eating Five Guys from next door... we opted for a to go order. The service was a little slow but eventually we were on our way back to the house. The smoothie was great and I've continued to get that same one at other locations, but the quesadilla was abysmal. Don't get me wrong, it tasted fine, but there was almost nothing in it. It was like 85% tortilla. I was starving at the time making it particularly disappointing. I know this is a healthier place, but I knew this had to be a mistake and not the norm... or at least I hoped. I was right because I was at another location later in the week and ordered another to test my theory and it was a regular portion of delicious quesadilla. I understand that people make mistakes, but there is no way you could look at this thing and think it was acceptable to serve to someone. We have gone during their Paella Sunday & Oyster Roast events and spent beautiful late afternoons outside with friends. They offer a great variety of wine to pair with the food. We got to experience a few different wine tastings. These might have moved offside with their second location but were fun and educational. Thursday Burrito special is a great way to explore their different offering. And almost always there is enough for.the next day.

When I saw the truck of the week was Food Box, I made a point to go (especially after seeing their menu on Facebook). I hung out a bit better placing my order, as the food truck was still setting up and not ready to cook yet. I ordered a a black bean burger ($6) for myself and a schnitzel sandwich with fries ($10) for my husband. I felt like was a fair price. Only a few other people were around, so I figured it wouldn't be long for my food. 7-8 minutes after ordering, the staff came to me and said they forgot to bring the black bean burgers on the truck, so he couldn't make my order. All of the other items were burgers or pork. I'd already placed my husband's order and didn't want him to not have food, so I waited around for his and just left hungry. At least the staff refunded me my money for the black bean burger they didn't have. I really hate leaving negative reviews, but I waited 15 minutes on a menu item that they didn't have. I do hope I can give them a second chance and update this review.

I thought they would be small servings, but these were nice size pieces of boneless chicken on a soft bun (think King's Hawaiian). For $9 we had a delicious chicken slammie with fries. The fries were delicious too, thick perfectly fried, and salted, boy these went well with out beer. So glad we the Food Box was here, and we look forward to checking out more items when we find them around town.

The chicken was perfectly cooked and very tender and juicy. The bacon was crispy and paired well with the chicken. It has fontina cheese and herbs wrapped inside and on top although I only got a hint of the herbs (for my taste I would like a bit more herbal flavor, but I tend toward flavor explosions) but on the whole it was very pleasing. The collards and rutabagas reminded me of my grandmother's cooking. They had so much flavor and a nice texture (some might say overcooked but I don't like my greens or rutabagas to crunch). My favorite was the sourdough toast with the tomato jam. The toast was excellent and crunchy. But my favorite of all was the tomato jam. Normally that comes with the chicken liver toast (they didn't have the liver today, which is fine with me, I'm not a fan of liver). My grandmother used to make a tomato jam so I was curious to see how this one was. The tomato flavor came through very well, it was sweet and tangy and you could see the pieces of tomato that held its structure. I definitely recommend that and if they canned and sold this by the jar I would definitely buy this (it's not exactly like grandma's - that's a high bar to reach and hers had pieces of lemon and orange peel and cinnamon sticks). But I think this would make a nice addition to the menu as an appetizer (maybe with cream cheese). The service was amazing. I appreciated the willingness to let me try something that wasn't on the menu. They were very accommodating (above and beyond). I will definitely recommend and send friends here.
