My kid almost always gets the Mac and cheese on a bread bowl, and j get a sandwich with vegetarian fillings. Their bagels alone are worth stopping to eat. Their food is pretty consistent, no matter where you go, and ordering is simple-- either at the kiosk or from a friendly person at the counter. I stopped in here this morning to meet a colleague. It was around 10:30 AM so I was looking for a late breakfast or early lunch. I decided on having a bowl of the cream chicken wild rice soup. After placing my order, I moved down to the right side of the counter Where they call out your name when the order is ready. It wasn't very busy at the time and there were about four people waiting for their orders. Two of them were delivery services and the other two of us were planning on eating in the dining room. I have to be honest... The throughput process was a little bit slow. They need an expediter to call out the orders and keep things organized and running smoothly. Ended up waiting about 15 minutes for my order and found this to be a bit long, especially considering that they were just heating up a bowl of soup That was my only issue. There was adequate parking, the lot was clean. And the lobby was kept very clean by a couple of attendants who were busy clearing tables and keeping trash to a minimum. I feel so disappointed. 10 years ago, panera felt like a true cafe. The bread felt like cafe bread, the food felt like cafe food. I especially loved the bagels, soups and sandwiches. Occasionally had a nice salad. I would go and always be happy I stopped. Now every time I go, I feel like I'm paying 20 something dollars for a meal that I could get at the little hospital deli counters for less, which hospital food already has a pretty hefty upcharge, so this is just that to an extreme. The bread doesn't taste the same anymore, it tastes like grocery store bread now. The mac and soups feels like something out of a plastic freezer baggie you could find on sale at grocery outlet. I mean they're not necessarily bad tasting, but the quality is noticeably low. The sandwiches are noticeably a ratio that's more bread and less protein and fillings then they used to be. The service has always been okay, friendly enough, but nothing exceptional. Just feels a half step above a fast food restaurants service. The only positive thing I have to say is that I still think the seasonal squash bisque or pumpkin bisque or whatever it's called is really good, and I think the atmosphere is clean and plain. Not high compliments by any means, but at least this review wont just be a speech of pure disappointment. I just wish it was the way it was 10-15 years ago still. I've noticed especially in the last 1-3 years that the quality has taken a nosedive, and prices keep going higher for less food and less quality. I ate there the other day, payed somewhere around 25 dollars for a bowl of Mac and cheese that tasted reheated from a bag, and a sandwich that was extremely bread heavy and disappointing as well as a drink which was fine. For around 25 bucks, I'd rather get a high quality meal from a real family owned restaurant that has standards of price and quality. Incredibly slow service. Took nearly 45 minutes for a single bowl of Mac and cheese to go. Food was cold.

Unacceptable!!! My sister and I went in at 9:59am and they start serving soup at 10am. We usually like something small after a good workout and Panera used to be our place to go. As we proceeded to place our order, we waited patiently for our food to be prepared. They have a screen that shows orders that helps guests see where their order is. There were 2 other ladies that came in after us and received their food before us. As we witnessed our order being skipped, we approached the manager about the situation. As we were told multiple times it was coming right up, it never appeared to be up. At 10:23 which is 23 mins after we put in our order, we eventually got up and asked for a refund. Especially after watching the ladies that came in after us finishing their meal. This is not our first time as I have stated this is our go to place after the gym. Whatever excuses you needed to make up, keep it to yourself. We are in the industry so we know how sometimes things may happen but let's take some accountability and apologize. As we proceeded with our refund, the manager stated that they do not refund tips. Excuse me??? You are going to keep our tip for service we did not received? That is pretty much stealing atp. You should be investigated and embarrassed for making a comment like that. You receive a tip for the service we receive. So this is definitely a lesson learned, DON'T TIP BEFORE RECEIVING ANY SERVICE!!! So that messes up my tipping theory. I am in the industry and it is not in my character to not tip. Terrible service. Tried to order my sandwich online and it said it would take and HOUR before I could pick it up, and when I try to order rapid pick up it means I need it now, not an hour from now. Crew was taking their sweet time and I had to order in-store, there was a HUGE line for online orders. It took forever to get my order and staff was so behind on orders and didn't seem to be trying at all. I went in when they opened at 6:00 am on my way to work heading to Seattle. They didn't have two kinds of bagels ready! cinnamon crunch and Asiago bagels. Since moving to Federal Way a couple years we hadn't visited Panera Bread a few blocks away. Well, last night we had occasion to meet with our representative from Medicare to discuss our 2023 coverage. When entering the business we got the biggest smile from one of the workers. We sat down and started discussing business. I noticed the same female worker fervently sweeping the floors. She was meticulous. While she was next to us, we inquired about closing time and found out it was 9:00 PM, and it was already 8:15 PM. We began a conversation with her and she was so gracious in providing information about what we were considering ordering (take out). She even had to go back to the counter several times to find out about prices, then returned to see what we wanted to order. She gladly explained the ingredients of the sandwiches we were interested in (wife also wanted a small bowl of Pumpkin Soup). Her name is "Memo". While talking with her we discovered she's Micronesian. We told her we were from Hawaii and we all had a good laugh. When leaving, we stopped by Memo, who was still sweeping, and I told her she offered the greatest customer service and she was so very personable and pleasant. With regards to the food, we had the Roasted Turkey & Avocado sandwiches and they were delish! The soup was just as good. As a matter of fact,ball the workers in the store were jovial and pleasant. We thoroughly enjoyed the visit to Panera Bread and enjoyed chatting with Memo. We will be back. read more

It's like a fruit salad with bunch of fresh fruit and lettuce and held together by a slightly sweet dressing. Along with the chicken salad sandwich, it'd a good combination. We went in and ordered on a kiosk. We were greeted by an employee who gave me a cookie for Mother's Day. That's pretty much the only time we interacted with someone. The same gentleman was giving out the food. The food was not placed on trays. Maybe due to Covid? We were given our food but it was missing our drinks. We had to ask for our drinks. The dumb short bleached haired girl at the counter was oblivious & extremely rude. Family though Panera would be a good place to go. Decided to use self check kiosk. Kiosk gave angst, kept saying I needed to complete an item on the pick 2, though I was done. Took awhile as I fought trying to complete it. I use computer everyday, not like I'm computer or challenged with electronics. Ordering was horrible, food not good! Ordered the arugula and watermelon salad with ancient grains. Teeny tiny pieces of watermelon, scant amount of salad and my sandwich which was Mediterranean vegetable which I added avocado was ok. Then I ordered a fruit cup that the strawberries seemed old and very disappointing as my fruit cup was like 1.99 which came a very small cup that perhaps was like a 1/2 cup size. My iced tea did not taste good either the whole meal was very disappointing. Best thing was sitting outside to eat. Most enjoyable thing was the weather. This dinner was close to $20 for one person, half salad, half sandwich, micro fruit cup and nasty iced tea. I would have been better off eating at home. What a joke. Went in there this morning for a breakfast wrap. There was no other customers when they took my order and at least 5 employees running around. 20 minutes later I never got my breakfast wrap and I had to leave so I could get to work on time. Let me start by saying I love Panera. I love their easy to use app, the selection in of fresh good ingredients and seasonable varieties. I also use their catering often for work events and think they reward points are awesome. I currently have about $50 in credit on my catering account I use them so often. All that being said. This is one of the worst locations in western Washington. Not only is it often messy (and don't get me started on the bathrooms....) but the staff looks unhappy but for some reason they cannot get an online order right to safe their damn lives!! Today for example I ordered half of a Napa chicken sandwich but I got a full steak and arugula. A few weeks ago it was a different order, still completely wrong. So first of all, this particular location is just fine. The staff was friendly and the place was clean and orderly, as Paneras typically are. My issue is with Panera in general. Their food is mediocre at absolute best. No matter what I order, it comes out completely bland and unenjoyable. Their cookies are good and I like their tea. That's it. Everything else is bland as hell. And what's with the super weird order/pickup situation? Order at one counter and then walk further into the restaurant to another counter to wait for your food. They make you wait in a super narrow, awkward hallway of sorts with short walls separating you from people seated on the other side, trying to eat. Sometimes my name comes up on the order screen, sometimes it doesn't. There are little cubbies with to go orders sitting in them. The whole place is just weird and not intuitive. And the food sucks. I was very disappointed I bought Mac and cheese and sandwich salad combo and a salad $72 the sandwich was a BLT avocado sandwich however it had two tiny pieces of that microwave bacon you know what I'm talking about and the avocado was covered by the two tiny pieces of bacon so the avocado was basically non-existent so was the bacon couldn't even cover have the sandwich If I'm spending that much money I I just personally feel like my entire sandwich should at least have that tiny little crappy bacon on it and avocado on it but no it doesn't and when I called they said that it's normal for the bacon not to cover even half of the sandwich stand with avocado so FYI if you order a DLT you will get less than half of your sandwich an actual BLT there were so many more complaints but I think that is the biggest one and since I've already left such a big message Go ahead and quit there however if anybody has any more questions about all the little tiny portions that I got for $72 please hit me up 989-824-8796 read more

Panera Bread in Maple Valley is the worst one in the Country. I've spoken to the Managers there on several occasions. The last 2 incidences have caused me not to go there anymore. I've gotten stuck in the drive through for 20 minutes so they can process one order in front of mine. They need to move an order out of the way if there is a problem fulfilling it. I've discussed with the manager that the soup is frequently of water consistency. The manager stated that they have no control over that one. I've been told on other occasions that the students from the high school they hire do not get good training at home. Basically, they are "untrainable". If that is the case, then they shouldn't have a job. The problem is the management. I used to frequent this place at least 5 days a week. I can't deal with it anymore. People do not go out to eat to get upset. It was my favorite quick eating place and cannot go there. read more
