Tip: check out the lunch deal on DoodDash I got takeout of the Samurai Select with Pork Katsu, and a side of nori fries. The burger is pretty big, the katsu is delicious. The wasabi sauce is strong. I was hoping the burger would be sweeter because of the pineapple, but it wasn't. The fries was decent but nothing special. A good value for the price if you are craving a burger with an Asian twist.

First time visiting. If you enjoy katsu, this place is for you! Roomy with several tables and chairs and stools at the counter to sit at. You place your order at the counter using a kiosk or at a register with an employee. Our to-go order consisted of an assortment including the ohayou gozaimasu with 2 100% grass fed beef katsu patties, fried egg, bacon, red onion, pickles, tonkatsu sauce, Japanese mayo, cheddar cheese and shredded cabbage on grilled buns. This sandwich was HUGE, just look at the picture below! We also ordered the teriyaki chicken katsu with 2 pineapple rings, 2 patties, Japanese mayo, shredded cabbage, red onion, pickles on grilled buns. Again, another HUGE sandwich....plenty of leftovers. We added orders of fries seasoned with sea salt, and an order of combo banzai bits (chicken and pork). Added a side order of wasabi coleslaw, something I had never tried or thought of before. I was concerned it might be too hot for me, but it wasn't. It was mild, drier than coleslaw I'm familiar with. I truly enjoyed the addition of edamame. Great way to add protein and I look forward to trying this in future recipes. We also ordered one black cherry fountain drink with terragon that was delicious and refreshing. It wasn't a very long wait for the order to be completed. Restaurant was clean and orderly. Food was good, I'm just not a huge fried or processed food person. My husband really enjoyed his meal though. Servings very very large. Price was a little higher than I'd like for a gourmet burger/fast food atmosphere. 3.5-4.0 star range imo.

I have always loved Katsu Burger and I love that they've expanded so much over the last 15 years to be in more places than just SoDo. Hate that the one in Ballard closed, but I get it. The fries and sauce options are unique and all of them are tasty. The burgers are huge and filling. I do wish they would toast the bun so it doesn't get soggy, but with good sauce, something is bound to get soggy. Great business, great vibes, great people, wonderful food and milkshakes.

Found through Yelp. Upon entering you will see an anime vibe and K Pop music. I enjoyed the Tokyo Classic. Burger was served in a red basket tray with fries. Very 50's dinner feel. The burger was packed full of flavor and fries hit the spot. Service was friendly and quick. Enjoyed my visit. Thank you Katsu Burger.

Five stars for consistency and deliciousness. We come here at least twice a month for a beef Wabi Wasabi and 12 spice fries. The burgers are perfectly breaded with you guessed it Katsu. So crispy and makes your meat of choice super moist even when you order it well done which we do for beef. The portions are big enough that my wife and I split a burger combo with fries and a drink. There are other combo options to add fries and coleslaw and or banzai bites. Always busy but they get you in and out with quality food every time.

Elevated fast food, nice twist on an American classic meal. I got the teriyaki chicken sandwich and it was quite tasty and filling. I also sumo-sized it: loved the 12 spice fries with the wasabi mayo, the wasabi coleslaw was good, and I didn't need the bonsai bites (decent, but nothing special and very filling). Atmosphere is a little nicer than typical fast food joints and the service was pleasant.

Came in here for dinner. The cashier was super friendly and nice. The interior was clean. They play great music. The food was delicious, with the right amount of crisp, sauce and ingredients. We ordered the Ninja and the Ohayou Gozaimasu. Both were delicious. Fries were great and you get tm4 choices on how you'd like your fries. They also have a variety of dipping sauce. Overall, great experience.

We went with high hopes given the five star reviews from Yelpers but sadly we were disappointed. The place is nice and clean and was totally empty when we went in. There were a few folks that came in for to go orders but not many so perhaps the quality has gone down since some of the reviews were posted. I opted for the teriyaki chicken burger. It came on a nice bun which I ended up taking off because it was just too much bread, pickles, onion, tomato, shredded cabbage and sauce of which there wasn't enough. All I could taste was the deep fried breading. My husband had the Tokyo Classic which is said was ok but again not enough sauce to cut through the breading. We upgraded and had fries with our meal which were supposed to be sea salt but there was no taste of salt at all. Hubs had the seasonal milkshake which was cookies and cream. I tasted it and thought it decent. Super thick so you really needed a spoon to eat instead of drink it. Will we go back, probably not.

I rolled into Katsu Burger in Federal Way like a Seattle snob craving something different--and I was not disappointed. The miso-glazed Tofu Burger--a crisp, eggless tempura patty drizzled in honey-miso mustard--was surprisingly noble, messy in that "I-want-more" way . My sidekick, the SamuraiSelect, delivered a flavor tag‑team: bacon and pineapple tangoing with wasabi‑mayo and tangy tonkatsu sauce--sweet, bracing, maybe too clever, but it works . The joint's vibe leans casual--trays, anime posters elbowing each other on the walls--and the staff greeted me like I'd just spotted a unicorn in Snohomish. Service was breezy and chipper, fries still hot and Instagram-ready. Tables and bathroom were dirty and sticky which my only complaint and the only reason why I'm not giving it 5 stars. Quirky, greasy, and weirdly charming--like Seattle, but with a tempura twist.

Heard a lot of good about this restaurant. However, our food was pretty bland and couldn't really taste the meat of the burger. Fries were generic and overly cooked (similar to In n Out IMO). Inside floor was very sticky. Service was fine.

Staff is friendly. Food is good. The prices are fair. The place is always clean. What's not to like!?!

The food was delicious. Great experience. Customer service was patient, friendly, and very helpful. The place is chill, laid back. While I waited for my order, I was watching College Basketball.

We also tried the curry and takoyaki on the side. The curry was flavorful and comforting, while the takoyaki impressed me with a good amount of octopus inside (not just all dough like some places). Overall, everything was delicious, filling, and such a great deal. Highly recommend checking this place out! The ambiance is like a cafeteria cause you are in a grocery store, but nice quick easy place to have lunch.

We ordered the Tonkotsu Miso Ramen, Spicy Negi Ramen (level 4 hot), an order of Gyoza, and an appetizer order of Karaage Chicken. Both of our Ramen bowls were absolutely delicious!! I'm used to eating very authentic Ramen when I lived in San Diego so this was a first for being in this area. It was a great portion size, beautiful presentation and everything tasted so good. I think the egg could've been cooked a little bit less so it would be not so well done so to speak, but it was delicious still. Also, the chicken appetizer was a good, but not as flavorful as some Karaage Chicken I have had. I probably wouldn't order that one again even though it was good, just lacked flavor and was a bit grisly. The service was outstanding. They are very kind and very attentive. The place is very clean. The ramen tasted great but not impressive or memorable enough for me to drive all the way back to Federal Way. I dined in solo and actually didn't finish the ramen or even remember exactly what I ordered. I'm guessing it's the spicy negi. The broth was spicy and enjoyable but definitely didn't taste any different compared to other ramen places I've been to. I tend to eat slow to savor my food, but I felt like the staff was overattentive and frequently stopped by my table to ask if everything was okay. Gave me the vibe that they needed to keep themselves busy or I was taking up a table. Might be great for other customers but it affected my experience with dining in; I usually finish my meals at restaurants but I felt rushed so I just ended up bringing the ramen home for my son, after the second or third time of them asking me if I wanted a takeout box. I'm still giving 4 stars just because the ramen tasted better than mediocre, less than spectacular. I just have high expectations for ramen and prefer more broth/topping variety (I was raised in Cali with options i dearly miss). Plus, I do like that they added a full egg for the ramen (instead of half an egg, like other restaurants I've been to) and the chasu portions were fair. I haven't tried any other ramen places in Federal Way (if there are any), but I guess if this is one of the better options (according to Yelp), it might be worth a shot to try out?

For the sushi, the tropical roll had a nice addition of mango, but the sweet chili sauce was a little too sweet for my preference, especially for a sushi roll. The Pacific Garden roll had fresh-tasting yellowtail, salmon, and tuna, and I enjoyed the crunch from the asparagus. However, one of my pet peeves is when menus list crab or crab salad in a roll, but it ends up being imitation crab/krab. I really wish restaurants were more straightforward about what they're using, especially because I enjoy real crab, but am not a big fan of imitation crab in sushi rolls. This restaurant used the words crab salad and I thought it meant that they still used real crab in it. The rainbow roll and edamame were just alright. The gyoza was also disappointing because it wasn't crispy and didn't have much flavor. Presentation was another thing that fell a little short for me. I wasn't impressed with the plating, especially with the random pieces of greens on the plate.
