Absolute trash. What a pathetic excuse for a Panera restaurant. I was so happy I didn't need to drive to milbrae when they opened in the neighborhood. They suck at service and quality of food. They always mess us orders so double check take out orders. I went her many time and the only consistent thing is how awful they are. The staff have attitude issues. They don't label coffees and always run out of milk and half and half. If you ask them for it, they audibly sigh that they have to work. My recommendation would be to go to Panera in milbrae - you would be saving time even if you drive. Or go to Noah's bagels in foster city. I've never been to a Panera bread that sucks so much. This place is a disaster I'll never come back, screw it. I placed my order at 1:08 (according to my cup'a registration time) and we got our drinks served at 1:32, the food following later. So many people ordering after us got served before, why is that ? Well, staff here doesn't check if there are guests outside. Guess what, some people don't sit inside. Crazy huh ? Other than making you waiting for 10 years while this is still a fast-food, the order is totally wrong. I ordered a Caesar salad with extra croutons and extra dressing on side, modified but still simple. I got a salad with rotten lettuce, no dressing in it but just on the side, and there was 2 small croutons in my bowl. Really ? The guy who brought the food was also rude and barely apologized for the wait, though the entire staff was caring about insides table. That's why we had to move inside of the restaurant for someone to finally see us. I won't be back, I prefer a 100 times those of the brand I've visited in SoCal. This place is stylish and modern with friendly staff, however, the portion sizes of the sandwiches are bottom of the barrel. I've tried sandwiches twice here, both part of the pick two. The Mediterranian veggie I got was familiar in taste, but the bread was cut so small that it was really a two-bite sandwich. The second time I also did a pick two with a turkey flatbread. There were literally only two small strips of turkey and it was 80% flatbread. If I wasn't in a rush I would definitely complain. Mediocre at best. 2/3 orders came out incorrect. Beware if ordering to go and check your order! Soup was lukewarm. It was just... Alright. I've had this sandwich a million times at home and it's fantastic but the bacon at this place could have broken your tooth. Husband enjoyed the bread bowl though. Mary was the only shinning star here. Polite, helpful, happy, even offering to take my dishes and saying no when I offered to carry my tables order back to the table after it had been corrected. This place really doesn't deserve the Yelp hate. Business is good, which means there can be a wait to order or receive your food - but they really make more efforts than your average restaurant to alleviate wait times and make sure you know what's going on with your order. First of all, there are 3 kiosks to the right when you come in if you want to take a crack at automated ordering. This can really save you time if there's a long line to order from the cashier. For some reason, I often see people not exercising this option when there is a long line. Secondly, you can order from an app which is fastest. Your order will likely be waiting for you when you arrive if you do it 10 minutes ahead or so. Once you order, there's a screen by the order pickup counter that tells you what's going on with your order. It'll either fall under the "prepared" or "ready" category. Where else do you find this? In my experience, even though they're swamped, the staff is always friendly and accommodating when it comes to little asks like extra dressing, etc. If you haven't been, ignore the angry reviews and give this place a try. Corporate HQ really seems to be ahead in leveraging technology to deliver a good customer experience. If you don't like the food here, it's probably just not the place for you, but the angry reviews are a little surprising. I've been here at least 10 times and have always felt like the staff was doing their sincere best to make it a good experience. Their Fuji Apple Chicken Salad is my favorite. read more

I've always been a fan of Panera because they have great tasting food. However this location always seems to top the experience compared to other Panera's. Customer service is always fast, warm and welcoming. The location is always clean and inviting (whether for dining or doing some work), and lastly Mary, who I believe is the manager of the location, takes very good care of the customers! I really recommend this Panera location! I'm only here about once a week since I don't work or live close by BUT every time I visit, I always enjoy every single bit of my experience here. Ana the general manager stormed into my job mad demanding to talk to a manager in charge. I told her I was and she told me with an attitude why I went to Panera to grab a bunch of folks. Little did she know that before she started her shift I went in there to purchase 2 salads,2 bagels with cream cheese and 2 large drinks. I only had grabbed 5 folks and my boss showed them to her as we talked. The only reason why I went to get folks was to eat my salad I purchased at Panera. Not to mention her employees forgot to put utensils, napkin, my side which was chips and one cream cheese but I didn't bother to complain about that till she stormed into my job unprofessionally and rude. In front of customers at my job Ana confronted me about some folks her staff didn't put in my bags. The only reason why I even got the folks was because I like Panera folks because they are bigger and better. I can't believe she did that. I explained to her Calmly what happened and she said she would talk to her team about it. I described the person who took my order as well to make sure i wasn't lying about purchasing food. Too bad this place is the closest we have around to get bagels for the morning or else I would not come here. What. A. Mess. The restaurant is new and may improve in several months, but it is not worth the time or energy right now. My coworkers and I ordered lunch and it was so unorganized and hectic. My coworker was told that they didn't have anymore of one soup, so she made another selection. By the time her food was ready, she was told THAT soup was also out so she had to make ANOTHER selection. The same thing happened to me, but not until I had waited 30 minutes and was told they didn't have what I wanted at pickup. I also ordered a flatbread, but was given something else instead that loosely resembled what I ordered. I was never told that they were out of flatbread and would need to make a substitution - either at order or pickup. My other coworker wasn't given dressing for her salad. Such a mess. Waited 30 mins for our food AFTER waiting almost 10 mins to order on a Sunday. Their menu board has No pictures or descriptions so I guess you are supposed to have ESP to know what everything is. Not wanting to hold up the rest of the line, we asked minimal questions but the cashier did provide me with a catering menu, which described all the items. Hmm.. wonder why they don't leave these out ? Our 11 yo ordered a small Mac and cheese (almost $6) that came in a small size to go cup. Still hungry after that, we got him a milkshake from The Habit. The 2 sandwiches ($9 each) and my half salad ($7) were good but not worth the $45 spent (drinks $12) and the 40 min wait time. I have been to this Panera twice in the last 2 weeks and both times they have made mistakes on my sandwich (to go). The first time, I got back to my office and they didn't add what I requested and they put it on the wrong bread. Today I decided to check my order before I left and they again, didn't add what I requested and they didn't grill the bread. Not a huge deal, but I'm glad I checked this time. The kitchen staff is friendly, they just seemed distracted which is why both times they made an error. When you ask them to correct it they do right away and are apologetic, but I wasn't shocked when I saw they had made a mistake just based off the conversations they are having. This location is horrible. I order online to pick up. They often have a note on the bag that they were out of XYZ and to see the cashier. Today they were missing half the ingredients in the sandwich I ordered so I had to wait for them to remake it. I have never had these issues at other locations. Not ever once have they ever offered anything. They deserve this one star because when you screw up and don't do anything to keep the customer happy well this is what you get. We stumbled upon Panera Bread the other day while out shopping. Since it was our first time we ordered at the counter because we needed a little help with the menu. I don't understand why there are so many poor reviews here. We experienced polite and helpful service. The quality was very high. I guess I don't mind waiting for my food to be made fresh. They do have an app for people to order ahead if time is an issue. I had the Fuji Apple Salad and was pleasantly surprised at the variety of ingredients. My husband had a turkey sandwich that was fresh and very well made. I think the value for what you pay is much better than the nearby competition (Mendocino Farms). With each meal you can choose an apple, chips or a piece of French baguette. I thought who wants a baguette with a sandwich? Whatever you do don't turn down the baguette. It was so soft and yummy. I took mine home and had it with dinner. I look forward to going back and trying one of the other salads. read more

Been here twice since it's been open. Service is always really friendly and quick, but sometimes the food lacks. My chowder was watery the first time I went and the caesar salad the second time had some old lettuce, BUT the chicken panini was really good! I like this new shopping center though. The Foster City Panera is amazing! My team has meetings monthly nearby, so we regularly order our lunches from them. Their food is always fresh and they deliver on time. If i could give them a 0 stars i would. Came in to dine and have breakfast on thursday aug 22. Ordered my food and waited about 10min for my order. As im waiting for my food an employee comes up to me and says sorry we just sold out of your items because an order for a large order came in for a pickup and took the rest of the inventory. I told the employee that we ordered this before they received the order a d she acknowledged that we did but shes sorry that we cant get what we can and she will need to give me a refund. Like come on people how are you going to give away my order to fulfill some other order. To top it off this employee didnt even offer us anything for their fcuk up. Ive been here before and really enjoy the food but guess after this i will never bring my business here and forsure will be telling my friends and family to not come here anymore for lack of their customer service. This experience started off a little shaky but in the end I left beyond satisfied. I placed a mobile rapid pickup order for a sandwich and soup as well as another half sandwich and soup with a side of bacon Mac to share. After getting home I realized that we were missing two items. Annoyed I drove back to see if I could get the items I had ordered. One of which they were out of. The manager Sabrina's service recovery was so above and beyond that I didn't even mind having to drive back. I ordered Strawberry Popeye Seed Salad. Once, I took a bite, it tasted bland and there was no dressing. I went back and ask them to put dressing because there was none. He said there dressing on my salad. He still gave me an extra dressing. If you want your wonton crispy things on the side and you type that in your special request you will never get it on the side. Last time they couldn't make my sandwich. Once they forgot a pastry. Like they have never done my order correct not once. I am always in a hurry and order in advance so I can swing by and pick it up yet their mistakes end up wasting my time two fold. If this wasn't so convenient I would stop coming here. Why can't they just get things right, even just once. I have been here about a dozen or more times and not ice was my order correct. I typically like Panera. However, tonight we ordered two half salads and one half sandwich at 6:04 with a delivery estimate of 6:34. It's two hours later. They farmed the delivery out to DoorDash and Panera hasn't answered after 4 calls and 200+ rings and DoorDash will not help us as we've paid $12 in delivery fees. It's just awful customer service. I go to Panera often for food and we use their app to try and help the company avoid extra fees. We're being conscientious and not one of these companies are offering any support. It's a silly $34 order, including delivery fees and tips. It's unconscionable. Done with both companies for some time. read more

Thank's "Erin". This was my first visit to this location. I decided not to place my order on the computers and instead waited in line to be helped in person. That was a mistake, the Asian woman who helped me at the counter, my receipt states her name is Erin, was beyond rude. She instantly got my order wrong and accused me of saying I wanted something I didn't ask for. She acted impatient with me when she had to cancel my order to start over again because of her own mistake. I gave her my order correctly about 3 times before she got it right and rudely told me I was incorrect in saying their "Frozen" Agave Lemonade was frozen. Claiming "it's not frozen, it's a regular drink." Lovely place to have a quick soup and grilled cheese after fighting the crowds at Costco. We ordered a broccoli cheddar soup but afterwards was told it was still cooking.
