Nice spot to pick up lunch on the way to the beach or a picnic at the park. Freshly prepared food in a nice atmosphere with nice and friendly staff.

Doordashed the Cobb and Mango Thai salads and not fried chicken sandwich on ciabatta bread. The salads were on the small side but the steak was good. I liked that the salad dressing was on the side on top of the container not inside. The sandwich chicken was really good but kind of on the small side. I split it with my mom so it wasn't that much food. Overall I would order from them again.

I think this might be a new location? At least for me it was! Before when I was craving their quinoa avocado salad I'd have to drive to RWC or Palo Alto! But no more! Met some friends here for lunch and I love that there are plenty of choices and parking! Two of us had the avocado quinoa salad, one person had the bbq beef brioche sandwich with tomato basil soup and hubs had a salad and sandwich. I always love the avocado quinoa salad and it the main reason why I go to Mendocino Farms. It did not disappoint! Friend said the soup was good and he seemed to like the sandwich so eh. Hubs said the portion size for his was fine but the salad look so disappointingly small. I'd go back again cuz I love the salad but I would say the place is noisy so if you want quiet, go sit outside. Staff is friendly and I was surprised they brought us our food instead of using a pager or shouting out our number so that was nice that they took the time to bring it to us. The guy even bussed our trays (maybe they wanted us to leave)? But we still hung out.

Having no relation to the coastal town, Mendocino Farms first started shop in downtown LA, and has been expanding rapidly as we consider healthier diets in modern times. This location in San Mateo is pretty chill, despite being right next to a Whole Foods. The parking in the underground garage is pretty easy, and you just pop right up the stairs. If you're lucky, there's some temporary street parking as well as the Whole Foods lot. It's a fast casual sandwich and salad place. Usually, these aren't on my radar as I can generally make the equivalent at home, but Mendocino Farms sources ingredients that are a bit better, more varied, and often unique. Generally, I approve of a meal here and wouldn't mind having it for lunch often, but the prices are high if you have a bigger appetite. They have an easy online ordering system, and you can pick up your takeout food from labeled bags on a shelf. When dining in, you order through the cashier, pick a table, and receive your food when it's ready. - Chicken Parm Dip This tastes like a clean chicken parmesan sandwich with fresh tomato marinara dip. I'm not too fond of the numerous sesame seeds embedded in the bread, but everything else is good if you want a heartier meal. - The Farm Club It's simple and solid if you want a BLTA-type sandwich. This wasn't my order, but my friend described it as good. - Peruvian Steak This is my favorite sandwich. It's flavorful, well cooked pieces of steak covered in some good herbaceous sauce that actually had some kick to it. Very saucy, somewhat messy, but quite tasty if you like acids and meat. - Italian Roast Beef Sandwich This was a seasonal/limited sandwich that tastes very much Italian due to the giardiniera pickles and cheesy herb sauce, like similar to something you'd grab at an Italian deli. The roast beef was very moist and tender, almost ham-like. - Sweet Heat Thai Crispy Chicken Sandwich I thought this flavor was popular, but apparently it also left the menu. I think there were a lot of things going on, and the vegetable components of the cabbage slaw were in thick chunks. It was crunchy from the carrots and daikon, acidic and sweet from the vinegar and slaw, savory and sour from the fish sauce, and spicy from the creamy sriracha mayo. The brioche was a bit more odd as a pairing, as I would expect more of a baguette texture. The chicken was very lightly crisp. - The Modern Caesar It definitely tastes like a healthier yet still filling Caesar salad. I like mixing the avocado around to get a thicker mouthfeel. The krunchies are a good substitute for croutons, and make almost every bite crunchy, perhaps to a fault. Overall, I like how this salad tastes more balanced than a standard Caesar. - Hummus Pita Crunch Salad It isn't a looker, but it's basically a healthy Greek salad with some salty hummus and lots of crunchy pita chips. The dressing is a tangy pomegranate ranch, and there's enough fresh veggies to balance out the stronger flavors from the feta and olives. - Basil Pesto Shells It's a standard pasta salad made with smaller pasta shells. Perhaps not as oily or creamy as ones you'd find at a grocery store, and I like that it's mixed in with some arugula and sun dried tomatoes. Basically, if you are paid well and don't have a big appetite, their salads and sandwiches are a good meal. Otherwise, you can get the same nutrition with less class at home.

First time here! We loved our experience. Edgar welcomed us right away. Got the combos, turkey avo sandwich with tomato basil and vegan banh mi with lemon chicken & farro soup! Loved that the soups came out hot in temperature, both sandwiches were flavorful. Got the avocado and quinoa salad also, loved it. Place has plenty of seating inside and outside.

This is one of my favorite places to get a good soup, salad, or sandwich. I'm obsessed with the modern Cesar salad. It really is a twist on your classic Cesar by including kale, avocado, grape tomatoes, and superfood crunchies instead of croutons. At first, it sounds a little chaotic but trust me this is an amazing salad. I like to add chicken for extra protein. If you're feeling something a little different, you can pay a few extra dollars to get this salad as a wrap! I also recommend this. The staff here are friendly and accommodating if you want to make any modifications. Lots of indoor seating and a few tables outside too. Easy, free parking lot. Located next to Whole Foods which is also convenient.

I've always liked Mendocino Farms. Food is fresh and doesn't feel unhealthy. Was in the area and didn't have a lot of time so decided to stop here. Parking was a little intense, but other than that it was great. Again, great healthy eating here.

I don't go to mendo's often but I always have a good experience every time! Today I got the baja green goddess salad with chicken and it is actually so addicting! Everything tastes so fresh and flavorful, and the portion is really big. I'm also a fan of their sandwiches. Definitely want to work my way through the menu. Wasn't too crowded today but sometimes it can get really full during a lunch rush. Parking here can be tough since it's in the same complex as whole foods and a lot of other spots.

    Turkey Avo Salsa Verde

This place is a go-to for many people in the area as they are always busy preparing pickup orders and having extremely long lines for lunch - as they should. I came here for lunch recently and had their turkey avo salsa verde sandwich. It was huge and tasted fresh. The bread was pressed and crunchy yet soft. It was packed with ingredients, with various flavors. I enjoyed the sauce it came with as it added a bold salsa verde taste. I came with 2 friends and they both enjoyed the steak sandwich. I would definitely come again and order more of their sandwiches/salads. Reminds me of a high-end Panera bread but with the same prices.

Mendocino Farms is literally a staple in my life. I've eaten here regularly for the past 10 years! Growing up in SoCal, it was my go-to sandwich spot! My all time favorite sandwich is the Peruvian Steak, and it still tastes exactly like the first time I ever had this sandwich! The amount of meat, veggies, cheese, and sauce is always on point with the perfectly toasted potato roll. The service was good. When you walk in, you order your food first, then sit down at a table. You scan the QR code, and enter your number for your receipt . I came here during a work day at lunch hours, so it was quite busy, but they were pretty quick to deliver the order to my table. Although it was busy, there was plenty of seating inside and outside the restaurant. I sat outside since it was a nice, warm day. The food was so good, a bee landed on my last two bites, so just be aware of that :') Thank you Mendo, for always being consistent every time I'm here!!

Avocado & Quinoa Superfood Ensalada + chicken, $4.80
    Summer C.

Refreshing, fresh, crisp, vibrant, the Avocado and quinoa superfood salad checks off all the boxes. I didn't know a quick lunch from Mendocino Farms could boost my expectation for SALAD from here on out! Ordered DoorDash, and was already blown away by the size of the salad. HUMONGOUSSS!!! I will be eating this for dinner again.. and I'll be happy too!) The cherry tomatoes were perfectly sweet and I loved the crunchiness of the quinoa seeds. The vegetables tasted fresh, as they still have the crunch and the vibrant green color. Though the chicken add ons might be pretty pricey (+$4.80), I totally recommend it. That 4.80 totally worth another texture thrown in. I also ordered a kids Grilled cheese with turkey sandwich for the lil sis! It comes with a few slices of green apple and a bottle of water. I have to say that I was pretty disappointed with this one. There was too much bread in contrast to the cheese and turkey, and it was altogether very dry. Nothing more to add. Though I ended this meal with a stuffed tummy, it didn't feel too heavy or it was dragging me down. Everything felt healthy. To all my fitness gals, get Mendocino Farms for a clean meal that feels and tastes like a cheat meal!

The Modern Caesar Wrap add chicken
    Megan S.

I have been hearing about their chicken Caesar wrap and I was very excited to try it. I would give it a 4/5 stars. I enjoyed the mix of kale and lettuce. The chicken was almost shredded and I really liked it. Definitely get it again. The service was super quick and it's a great place to eat inside or outside. The only negative about this location is parking. But, there is an underground garage that is not too far.

well, what can I say about this place. I can say a lot of things. Great food great atmosphere friendly staff really gets that vibe going. Definitely try the salads. They're the best. I will definitely come back again. Only downside is that the parking is very tough because it's next to a supermarket and the parking lot is small. But don't get me wrong. The food was terrific.

M sandwiches pleasantly surprised me with its warm crusty bread, crisp tender bbq pork, and fresh cilantro and pickled veggies. The place is tiny - really no seating indoors and just a few chairs outside - but I'm adding this spot to my regular to-go rotation. I love that they give you potato chips with every sandwich, and unwrapping every sandwich that has the twine tied around it feels like you are unbundling a treasure. I was hungry and started eating the sandwich while walking, but after just a few bites I had to throw it away. The grilled pork was unbelievably salty--easily one of the saltiest bánh mì fillings I've ever had. It tasted like the meat had been heavily over-seasoned with salt, to the point where that was the only flavor I could taste. The sandwich was also loaded with mayonnaise, which made it feel very heavy and greasy. Combined with the salty pork, it ended up tasting like mostly fat and salt. The bread didn't seem particularly fresh or house-made either, which made the overall experience even more disappointing given the price. I hate leaving negative reviews, but for the cost and quality, this was not a sandwich I could finish, let alone enjoy.

They melt the American cheese on the sliced roast beef, then placed on the sesame seeded bun with shredded lettuce, mustard, MO's special sauce and lots of lovin'. When I took my first bite, I said out loud, "Am I eating a Big Mac?!" Very creative are these folks. The chocolate croissant speaks for itself. It's fully loaded flaky croissant goodness and it's huge! Head over to Mo's for an excellent sammie experience! Plan for to-go as it is very tiny, however, there are tables and outside area, too.
