I really enjoy this place. We used to come here really often when it first opened, but don't seem to have as much free time as we used to. I stopped here today for a jalapeño and cheddar breakfast sandwich and a coffee. The coffee is atomic hot! This isn't a bad thing - it just takes longer to drink. The sandwich was a bit soft. Like the other review, I have to say they should take a little more care with their breakfast sandwiches. Even if some of the ingredients are prepared ahead of time, a truly toasted bagel would go a long way. read more

We live in the area and like to stop in for lunch, but this location is always dirty inside. Food on the tables and ground into the carpets. My wife has brought it up to management's attention on a number of occasions, but it is usually filthy. We would like to continue to eat here, but they need to clean up the place and establish a better process to keep it clean!!!!! read more

This is definitely one of the worst managed restaurants in the area and NOT up to Panera's usual standards. The eating area is ALWAYS dirty, which makes you wonder what the kitchen must look like. Even when there is no one in the place it is impossible to find a clean table and dirty dishes are stacked at the tray/trash stations. As to the staff, generally friendly; however, the staff in the food prep/plating station is awful. The same two equally nasty women were there during our last 2 visits (at night). The food came out half-cooked and they literally THREW the sandwichs onto the plates. There is no explanation for their behavior or attitude since neither myself nor my husband has ever complained, despite the lousy customer service. These women are just nasty by nature and have no place interacting with customers in ANY WAY. Management is never on site. I think the place must be run by the teenagers behind the counter, which explains a great deal. I sent an email regarding our experiences to the Panera website. Never even got a response, so obviously corporate does not care either. During our last visit (and it will be the last time we walk in the door until we hear something has changed), it was nearly deserted at dinner time. Time to check out Potbelly's!! I love Panera, and *this* Panera in particular. They really bailed me out recently. I needed bagels for Sunday morning at SHORT notice (like late the night before). They jumped through flaming hoops and got the order done for me, with a smile. They even helped me put them in my car. Panera is just another common chain where the food is good but not great. The best part about the resturaunt is the bakery section. I am a huge fan of their bear claw, so if you enjoy almonds definitely try it. Their sandwiches are tasty but way too small for the price. The customer service was great the last couple of times I have been. They also have a new pick up system that on paper should work but for some reason the first time I ordered there was a mistake. Since then however, the system has worked great, and the one error that occurred was quickly resolved. Panera is consistently good so I continue to go back but it isn't a place I get extremely eager to visit. Maybe if they mix up their menu occasionally or have seasonal items it will grab my attention more. read more

Penera food is usually quite reliable, today the same. But on this Sunday afternoon it was the absolute slowest worst service I've ever seen any Panera in my whole life. It's enough to keep me away from here for a very long time. Manager is just walking around doing nothing, claiming they are shortstaffed but not helping them at all. It's a disaster. It has recently undergone some changes and I've noticed that some customers don't like the new flow. But I LOVE IT! the new fast lane options are awesome!!! Usually every time I come to this restaurant my experience is awesome, the staff is really wonderful and my food almost always comes out right. However last night when I ordered some takeout, the manager who's name on the tag said Nicole was incredibly rude and short when I asked who's takeout was ready and if it was mine. She was very quick to snap at me and my friends and I felt not only unwelcome but very uncomfortable.Hopefully this won't ruin my image of the restaurant, and hopefully I don't have to encounter her again. read more

I have been to this Panera a few times now and don't get the hype. A bunch of my friends love this place, no comprendo! We went today for lunch (being that the new Bungalow place wasn't open) and I got the half and half greek salad and potato soup. Both were decent, nothing great. My husband got the salmon club with the garden veg soup, he said the soup was almost good and the sandwich was decent. My daughter got the mac and cheese, which my husband loved and I thought was ok. I do like how they use a lot of organic brands/ingredients. In my other visits the sandwiches are just ok, and the french onion soup (I love french onion soup) was nasty, lukewarm with the onions not fully cooked and a sad sprinkling of parmesan cheese on top. The bakery items are pretty good, tho I have only had the bread and a bite of a couple cookies, but my husband looves their shortbread cookie. Also this place is just way too $$ for a simple lunch. I love panera and the atmosphere, but they have re done their menu based off "seasons" and they took away French onion soup & cheese bread ???? why would you take away SOUP during the fall and winter. I don't understand why panera has suddenly decided to re do their entire menu and make basic menu items "seasonal". why on earth would you ever make cheese bread seasonal??? I had to have a sandwich today with this nasty weird lookin bread instead of standard cheese bread because they have decided to make it "seasonal". I'm surprised to see some of the reviews here. It may be a coincidence, but I have not had any bad experiences here. My kids and I stop by about once a month and we all leave happy. I will say this, Panera coffee is by far the STRONGEST coffee I have ever had! There are times where I've had one cup at 5 pm and stayed up (against my will) until 5 am. I was helping a woman with her baby, and sat my stuff down on one of those big cozy chairs. I had quite a few things because I was having a business meeting. I turned around, grabbed my stuff and left. I went on with my day, not realizing my wallet fell into the cushion. The next morning I realized that it was gone. Not only did I have a ton of money in it, I also had Tiffany's jewelry, gift cards, and more valuables. (By the way, yes I realize I shouldn't have all that stuff in my wallet). So, when I was retracing my steps, I assumed my wallet was gone, and somebody made away with a amazing find. I did call this location, but they couldn't find it. The manager informed me that the manager from the day before would be in at 11, but by then I gave up hope. Well.....guess what?!!!!!! He had it!! Everything was in place!!!!!! I have never been disappointed in any of my dozens of visits to this Panera. For the most part, the line moves quickly and the cashiers are friendly and helpful. The food comes out pretty fast, and is always well made. I have had the tortilla soup, french onion soup, and Asian sesame chicken salad and all were great. This is one of the better options in the shopping center to get some lunch. read more

Not very happy with the managerial part of it right now. My daughter was scheduled for Monday night and on her application it specifically says she cannot close during the week because of school both during the day and at night. She tried for a week to work something out with the manager ( Evelyn ) who informed her that she would be written up if she did not show up even though it says on her resume that she cannot do Monday's because of school. I am a loyal customer at Panera Bread. I've been going to this location for over ten years and each time my experience gets worse and worse. Today, I asked an employee named NABILA a question about my smoothie. She replied back to me in an EXTREMLY RUDE manner. Nobody deserves to be talked to the way she talked to me, A CUSTUMER!!! VERY VERY BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE AND ATTITUDE FROM EMPLOYEES!! I WILL BE CALLING CORPORATE AND SHARING MY EXPERIANCE ON ALL MY SOCIAL MEDIA!! The managers don't care about how the customers are treated by the employees or their experience in general. The management and employees used to be so much better.... with better people! The quality of this place has decreased dramatically including bad customer service, terrible staff, gross food quality, less food portions, careless management, dirty environment, and much more. You are not treated like you are getting your full value and you most certainly DO NOT get what you pay for! This location is a waste of time.. save your money and patience and go somewhere else. If they continue this type of behavior they'll turn into something like Chipotle (was once on top of the world and now barely makes any money). read more

Dirty and the staff did not take the time to clean the restrooms after two requests. The women's restroom had feces marks on the floor under the changing table, one toilet was backed up, urine on the floor & toilet seats, no paper towels, and the toilet that worked looked as if it had not been cleaned in over a week. The Men's bathroom was in the same condition, urinal broken, urine soaked toilets with urine soaked toilet paper all over the floor and no paper towels. There weren't even napkins in the napkin dispensers and the ice tea was practically clear. The soup was barely warm and the salads were soaked in dressing. I cannot imagine what the kitchen looks like if the front of the house was in this condition. The male staff serving the food seemed to find amusement in my complaint after I walked away. read more

I love Panera. Any chance I get. I go to Panera. This has been a local Panera for me for years. I am a rewards member. I love Panera. That being said, I'm on my period and I'm like hey. I want a tuna sandwhich and Mac n cheese cause I'm bleeding and I want what I want. So I go in. I order at a kiosk cause why talk to someone when your on your period. It doesn't print a receipt. Whatever cool. I trust Panera. My names on the board. We good. I wait. And I waaaiiiiiittttt. And my name disappears off the board after about 15 minutes. The kid packaging orders up turns around and notices I've been there a hot minute and don't look happy. He asks my name. And they can't find my order. After about 5 min they find the slip and start my order. SO I WAIT SOME MORE. in all my angry bloody glory. Finally. They give me my order. And I leave. And I drive home. And I sit down. Ready to serve the period cravings it's tuna sandy and Mac - AND I DIDNT HAVE MY TUNA SANDY. I can't trust Panera in Gainesville anymore. This Panera is not my favorite for several reasons. One is that on an occassion when a placecard fell off of the muffins the chick behind the register simply picked it up off of the floor and placed it right back onto the platter with the muffins - unwashed - EWWWWWWWWWW!! I voiced my opinion, and was met with a response that was equal to me spontaneously growing a third eye. I, appalled, promtly turned around and walked out. Another reason is that this place is just a bit too busy for me. The last time I decided to visit I knew it was going to be busy so, I called my order in so I could avoid the line and simply pick it up. This location does not have a pick up line or anything like that so when I arrived to pick up my order I immediately went to the end of the register and asked about my pick up order. Of course, it wasn't ready, I mean I had only given them 20 minutes to complete it. So I still had to wait. This was awkward and unpleasant. I couId feel the 25 pairs of eyes on my back and those in line tried to figure out who this chick was that just jumped the line to the very front! Very Awkward and Uncomfotable. I wish I could say that I will not be back, but I probably will because their food is so good and tasty. read more
