This may be true of Paneras in general, but we mostly go to the Hadley store. The food is not bad. The bread is about as good as an old school mom and pop bakery, nothing special, but not bad. I tend to order salads. The Feta they put in their food is not authentic at all but an American interpretation of Feta, made with cows milk. Mercifully they don't put much in, so it passes. The seating is comfortable and ambiance is nice. They have gone to the self-serve tablet ordering system, which means you do the work of the person who used to take the orders and then would give you cups to get drinks, find a seat and wait for your order. Now the tablet finishes the order with the prompt for you to go get your self-service drinks, but there are no cups. So that is impossible. When you ask behind the barrier about cups, the answer is; "They will come out with your order." no deviation possible. A big downgrade in the experience of ordering and getting ready to eat.... I may change the three stars I'm starting with to two.... I think I am going to start carrying my own coffee canister in my car, as that is usually my drink of choice and I see the writing on the wall for a lot of places like this.... read more

We got a curbside pickup order. A sandwich, one salad, a you pick two sandwich and salad, an iced papaya tea and some bakery items. Our sandwiches and salads were excellent and the drink was delicious as always, service was fast and the person that brought us our order was very pleasant and kind. Our only big complaint is that unfortunately our bakery items were extremely dry and old tasting like they'd been sitting out for a long time. Not the end of the world but definitely a bummer since we ordered almost $26 worth of cranberry orange cake (it's our favorite if you couldn't tell haha) and the chocolate chip muffie wasn't any prize either it was super dry. We'll definitely be back to this Panera location, just maybe skip out on the bakery items or buy your bakery items first thing in the morning to avoid this issue. read more

Valery took our order. Valery seems nice, but was hard to communicate with due to her KN95 and inability to make eye contact with inability to clearly talk. After 25 minutes she went table to table asking what folks had ordered. She determined our order never got rung in. After going back up & waiting another 10 minutes to order again successfully, Dave the manager basically yelled at us saying he had 20 to go orders ahead of us and too bad. They do not care period. We patiently waited over 50 minutes from initial order to getting food. The food was incorrect with the wrong name in a to-go bag for our in house lunch. Not even one once of acknowledgment that they messed up or any attempt at making it right. I typically buy a ton of panera GC for my mom at xmas. Never again will I be bothered to go there. I highly recommend the Plainville location. Everyone there is so right on top of everything and they really know what I like to drink and they're very helpful right now. I'm actually in a cast so I can't actually go in and see them as often as I would like, but if I take and say, please have it pre-poured when I go through the app they'll put it all together, so the hubby can walk right in pick it up and leave, my favorite person in the morning is Kathleen. She's right on top of it. All always happy smiling and a good attitude positive upbeat. The managers, especially Lisa and Kristen and Hayden really do their job well and everyone that's on their teams are always right on top of everything. This place sucks. Terrible staff, terrible sandwich, and cost $33 for two sandwiches and two medium sodas. The guy overcharged me for the drinks- rang us up for special turbo lemonade thing when we ordered regular drinks. When I asked about it, the guy said they just charge everyone the turbo iced tea price (4.09) as standard operating procedure since it's at the fountain with everything else, meaning they overcharge everyone who orders a soda but doesn't get a turbo iced tea. Cool. My sandwich was 90% bread that was just thick toasted wonderbread, 8% barbecue sauce, which turned the wonderbread into a thick paste, and 2% chicken. Awful. Never go there. read more

I ordered a steak sandwich and a teriyaki chicken bowl over door dash since me and my girlfriend have to be quarantined due to covid contact tracing. Not only was the door dash driver very late but the food was horrendous. The sandwich which was supposed to come with a ciabatta roll, onions and cheese topped with horseradish was actually a few small pieces of steak on floppy white bread from a grocery store with a disgusting amount of horse radish, One onion, and cheese on the one corner where there was no other ingredients. I broke out the scale and it weighed as much as a McDonalds cheese burger but costs 12 hard earned, much needed dollars. The teriyaki chicken was half the amount of food you get from chipotle bowls but costs 2-3 dollars more plus tax. I called panera afterwards to get my money back for the sandwich and to my surprise they said they would take the whole order off my cardI was psyched. If its free its good to me. But I just checked my bank account and they charged me for full price of the meal. Never giving my money and would highly recommend staying away from this location. After 20 minutes the food came out but the eggs on the breakfast sandwiches were runny and undercooked. Another bad experience on the 9. Ordered a bowl of soup and a turkey panini to go. After about 9 (no lie) people that ordered after me got their food I went up to check on it and was told they made our sandwich wrong and that it'd be up in just a min. We get home to find they gave us a cold ham sandwich and the "bowl" of soup was about half filled- literally 2 inches of space left in the bowl. The process took over 20 mins to get this lame excuse of a $14 lunch, too. After calling the manager I was told they'd only be able to mail out a gift certificate to make up for it and that they'd "try to mail it out tomorrow." After reading the consumer complaints online about how this is is a common promise to disgruntled customers, it seems they rarely ever make it to the consumer. 2 stars just because I'm hopeful the refund actually makes it to my house, I'll update to 3 stars if I receive it. I have generally thought panera to be a good place for a quick bite. However, the order my office got the other day was disappointing especially since I worked there in highschool. There was live bug in one of my friend's sandwiches. In addition there was a hair in my other friend's turkey sandwich. To top it off, there was a long hair in my boss' salad. There were about 10 orders and it was ridiculous that there were so many issues. Overall I love Panera and this partcular shop - but I would say to them: Be more careful in selecting salad greens: eliminate large, tough stalks from kale, and sort through and remove wilted or rotten lettuce. Same with the apples - sort out the ones that have "gone by" in terms of ripeness and have brown mushy spots. Check your fruitcups for RIPE fruit. I just bought one in which none of the melon pieces were ripe, at all; they were hard and not even juicy. Do not order catering from this location. I order catering from them once or twice a month for two years and they were consistently late, missing food items, bringing incorrect orders, missing plates, cups, napkins and utensils... The final straw: they did not make or deliver my last catering order. I placed my order online a week in advance. I got an email confirmation. I called three times the day of the event and was assured that the food was on its way. Halfway into my event they finally admitted to the website "messing up" the order and suggested that I call in the order next time, and sounded like they thought they were doing me a favor by canceling the order and not charging me for food that wasn't delivered or even prepared... Something's up with this location. They are either understaffed, mismanaged, poorly trained, disorganized or some combination of all of it. I ordered Panera the other day through Doordash. I got the You Pick Two with a greek salad and small mac and cheese, I also ordered a bagel to receive a discount through Doordash. The food was delicious, still warm, and exactly how I ordered it. It was prepared and ready to be picked up within 10 minutes and I received it in a timely fashion. My only complaint is that Panera does not have their own delivery service. The food I wanted was under $12 dollars, but I had to spend $22 total in fees and extra add ons via doordash. It would be great if there was a more affordable way to have it delivered, especially given the current circumstances. read more

I waited a day to review because I had a bad experience. I ordered the turkey bacon avocado sandwich, but switched the bread type. 3 bites in, I realized it was deli turkey, not the oven roasted,(cheap and salty), no avocado, and other things I didn't order. This place brands itself as made with care, but it's more like" defrosted quickly"there is no point going to a restaurant where I have to defrost or microwave my meal then dump my dishes is gross buss pans. If it were less expensive, I would be okay with it. The people who work there are cool. They're doing what they're supposed to. Panera sandwiches are not for me. I had a horrible experience today, ordering a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and receiving 2 slices of bread and I had to make the sandwich myself. I went up again and ordered a cup of soup and asked for a piece of bread and the workers were very unwilling and unhappy. I used to come here all the time and loved the food, but this new system is so impersonal and annoying. Never coming to this Panera again. read more
