I am very disappointed with the food quality and portion sizes here. The baguette that comes with the meals is always rock solid, the salads are not fresh, the meat on the salads is McDonald's quality, and the soup portions are so small! My husband recently came in this week to get a to-go meal for our family of three. It was $31 for a kids mac and cheese, a sandwich and a soup. When he came home with my chicken noodle, it was literally three sips! Mostly broth in a tiny cup and I ordered a full bowl. My canned soup in the cupboard was better quality. This is now the third time we have tried to go to Panera right at 6:30pm and there has been a car parked blocking the drive thru and the door locked. They do not close until 7pm. The staff is inside doing nothing for at least 30 minutes. Change your hours or continue serving customers until your actual close time. read more

My fiancé was a little bit apprehensive about Panera, since it is fast food (although healthier than your run of the mill) chain. We decided to go today, because it was quick and close to work. The food was awesome, super fresh and tasty. We both got Mac and cheese which was delicious. I got a Caesar salad (they don't use anchovies, vegetarian win!) and my fiancé got their tomato mozzarella flatbread which he said he would get again. Love their food but pretty pricey for me. I went out to lunch with my husband and youngest child last weekend, this was my first time eating out here and I was pleased. They have a friendly staff and a nice sized dinning area! I ordered the Pick 2, I got a Chicken and Avocado Panini sandwich (I cant remember the name) and a strawberry vinaigrette salad ( again I am the worst and don't remember the name but I will find out and update latter) The Panini was good I have had better but I have had worse too but the Salad was amazing it was filled with yummy fruit, Strawberries, blue berries, Pineapple, and almonds it was so good. My husband got the pick 2 as well with a Turkey avocado BLT sandwich and a fuji apple chicken salad.( I know weird I remembered his order lol) He said both were very yummy I tried the Salad and the bite I had left me wanting more. and our little one got the mac and cheese, It was so good way better then mine! the staff here was completely unprofessional, the register attendant was in a conversation with another employee when we walked up and we were entirely ignored by the attendant for a few moments. I had ordered a large mac and cheese, the serving I received was obviously not a large, on my way to bring it back to the counter i spotted the register attendant laying on the ground laughing, like I said, completely unprofessional. when i showed one of the cooks the portion i had received they told me that it was a large, she held up a bowl the size of a fist and told me that was a small. When we arrived, EVERY SINGLE TABLE was dirty to the point where we had to sit outside. We had to wait with no buzzer and they did not call our name when our food was done so it just sat way longer than needed. When we received our food there were disgusting finger prints inside and outside of each of our dishes WITH OUR FOOD IN THEM!!! Been to this location multiple times, and ive got to say its just ok. Most of the time anything i want off their menu is sold out. Breakfast items at 930am are down to one left. So, not sure why they dont make more of the popular items? In fact its happened so many times, wife said she is done with this location. She cant get what she wants most of the time, and that's being there at 930am. Drive thru isnt the friendliest at times either. Ordered turkey blt- nice chunks of tasteless turkey, nice paper thin slice's avocado, nice giant pile of 'emerald greens', nice rustic sourdough with a crust that was like concrete, and a real nice fake bacon slice. Not sure why so negative on the other reviews outside of people being impatient and unrealistic expectations. It's a brand new location and people LOVE the food. It's the only one in the immediate area and it is always busy...THAT SPEAKS FOR ITSELF! They are learning systems and processes and that takes time to get good people trained and doing things well. Cut them some slack! We eat here every week and NO, I don't work here and don't know anyone who does. The food is good, they have a high tech ordering system that gets the food delivered to the table. I'm impressed they do as well given the high volume of people going through. My wife and I love Panera Bread, but when I ordered my wife's favorite salad to welcome her back home... we were served a salad with frozen chicken. This wasn't cold chicken, it was frozen chicken. I found out the chicken was frozen after presenting the salad to my wife at home (of course). I called Panera and the manager told me that it's gets cold sometimes but didn't offer to compensate me for the inconvenience. "Salut Fin Microwave" Have you ever just gone to Starbucks and only order food and no coffee? Do you enjoy microwaving everything you eat at home no matter what it is? Then you will definitely love Panera Bread! With every kind of super generic food that you'd assume would be in a Starbucks display case + some soups, Panera Bread really hits the spot. You will notice that there are at least 20 employees at all times just running back and forth in the back (from microwave to microwave) yelling at each other through their headsets while there is maybe 1 employee smiling and taking orders from people who are deciding over microwaved soup or microwaved bread. Besides being extremely forgettable food, Panera Bread will leave you wondering why you paid $$$ for a microwaved (then VERY lightly toasted) bagel, and why you ordered a half of a microwaved sandwich. Epic fail. I would say the inconsistency and horrid service is the direct result of management incompetence. Easily the worse Panera in the inland nw. The errors which happen on nearly every order are probably the result of carelessness and lack of quality control. Some of the errors have included missing protein(4) times, unecessary salt on an item not listed in its description, missing veggies, quinoa in my fruit cup, the wrong type of lettuce in my salad. First time at this location. Placed the order, even bought two pastries and a baguette. Sat down with my teenage grandson to wait for the order, which arrived promptly served by a senior citizen employee. When I asked him if my soup would be forthcoming, he looked at the order in his hand and informed me that there was no soup, at which time I reminded him that what was on my plate was a half sandwich which came with soup. He left, returned to again inform me there was no soup! Right about now I was ready to scream! He then went back to the kitchen and came back with a bowl of soup and said to me here's your soup 'on the house'!! I told him no, I paid for that soup because Panera only served halves of sandwiches on the Pic 2 menu. He then said I'm sorry for going out of my way for you. What Customer Service is that for a measly cup of soup. That old coot needs to be fired along with the cashier that took my order, which by the way I tipped $2. Oh! I am just going to lay it all out there, with this review. All of it. I waited until my second visit, to write a review, as I normally do. I have been to countless Panera locations (mostly in CA, but also in Spokane Valley) and not once, elsewhere, have I experienced such complete disappointment, on all levels. My first time, was a drive-thru event, where I just wanted to pick-up something quick, for my toddler. There was only two cars in front of me, so things looked good, for time. I don't expect a Panera drive-thru to be as fast as McDonald's, but I also know, that almost everything is not cooked-to-order, so I don't expect that type of wait time either. I ordered the 1/2 Mac N Cheese and 1/2 Grilled Cheese Sandwich and apples (the other option was chips). And then I waited. And waited and waited. $9.31 and 16 minutes later, I received a completely soggy (actually wet), tasteless 1/2 grilled cheese, about 7 bites of Mac N Cheese and chips (because when I got to the window, they said they were out of apples). It was an absurd experience, from beginning to end. So, why did I go back? I figured I owed them an in-house visit, before I formed a true opinion. I came back to this location this morning (a Thursday), at around 8:15am and went inside to eat. I was the only person in line and ordered the Ham & Swiss Soufflé. While I was ordering, I could hear employees complaining about the man that had ordered before me...already a bad sign. I paid for my "soufflé" and watched the cashier head over to get my food. This egg soufflé, is stored in the same (not heated) case as the other pastries and muffins. I was given a plate, with a COLD (not even room temperature), ham and cheese thingy. As I walked away and realized it was cold, I turned around and said "I'm sorry, is there is any way that I could heat this up a bit?" And she responded snottily and with a point of a finger over my shoulder, "Yeah, there is a microwave, right over there!" There is a microwave, located under the coffee bar, apparently for people to nuke their own egg breakfast dishes up!? That was a first. I kid you not, folks. I kid you not! I know that things at chain restaurants are microwaved and I don't mind it, but never in my life, have I experienced something like this. It honestly makes me laugh. Even at McDonald's, I can count on a warm McMuffin and a "have a great day!", every single time. I want this Panera location to do well and I might even give them a third chance someday. There are plenty of places in the CDA area that have good food and bad service, Panera is yet another one. Front counter service is good but once your order hits the kitchen things come to a standstill. A simple sandwich delivery took 16 minutes, and a word of warning, don't get stuck in the drive through line where service time is crazy long and you have no exit from the line once you are stuck in it.
