It frustrates me to have to go through the drive through multiple times to correct a mistake or gross coffee. I have done this on more than one occasion. With sleeping children in the car it becomes challenging for local choices. Visited Ithaca for the day and really wanted to go out and try a local restaurant; however I have the pickiest 4yo on the planet and so we went to the place where I know he'll eat a reasonable dinner vs just bread. Thankful for kids mac & cheese with yogurt. I'm also a fan of the Fuji Apple Salad with Chicken; it's my go-to meal at Panera. read more

They asked every other person who was trying to order if they needed assistance. First time in there and people just walking in are getting asked if they need help. Meanwhile I'm struggling with the kiosk and can't get it to function. Before you ask, I tried to speak to the employee walking past but she kept walking. read more

Long line waiting for one cashier on duty at 9PM at night - thought I was outsmarting them to use the kiosk no one was using - ended up waiting literally 30 minutes for 2 half and half orders (nothing unique) to be made. Not given ANYTHING to accommodate for the wait - not even a drink. Considering we opted to go here for 'fast service' it was a huge disappointment. Oh for being an out of town-er was surprised to see a "big" dog inside with owner that was eating - guess Ithaca is a dog friendly town??!! yet there wasn't water and biscuits at the door so not sure what's up with that read more

This place is horrendous. I waited 35 min in the drive through line for an order that I called in over the phone. The manager on the phone didn't tell me that there was only one lane and it wasn't for pick up only - awesome. Ordered soup and salad. They gave me the wrong size soup (smaller than what I paid for), the receipt was wrong, and there was hair in my salad. I don't think it could get any worst. read more

Typical Panera. I secretly love Panera and its a very good option when you want something fast but don't want to eat too unhealthy. Plus the nice thing is you can customize your order very easily to what you want - for example whenever I get a sandwich I always ask for it on wheat bread and so on...the sandwich are all delicious, the soups are perfect for a cold winter day and the summer salad when they're in season are delicious! Saddened to have to write this review, but having to wait 20 min for two breakfast sandwiches when there were 3 other tables of people in the entire room. Having the staff say, we ran out of eggs. Period. No apology, no "hey sorry for the inconvenience" nada. I could have gone to Dunkin and got a flatbread breakfast sandwich within 3 min and it is roughly the same flavor. This Panera is better than other ones that I've gone to. Although there is not much room for parking during busy times, additional parking is available nearby. The servers are all quite knowledgeable and are all happy to help. Their customer recovery process is also acceptable. If something is wrong, they will fix the problem. The one problem is that for the amount of food I'm getting, I think it is a little expensive. read more

This Panera bread is particularly nice! Lots of self order and checkout kiosks, and lines are never too long inside. Wide variety on the menu, usually with some vegan/vegetarian options. Black bean soup in a bread bowl is my personal favorite! Food always comes hot and relatively quickly. This Panera has lots of seating and places to sit and work, and stays mostly quiet. People taking your order and making the food are mostly very helpful and friendly. Overall, a great place to grab a quick bite, or sit down for meal! read more

We became acquainted with Panera many years ago when living in the Midwest. We've made it a regular stop wherever we live or travel, and were happy to see one open here. Meh. The place is overrun with college students and knitting groups taking up tables for hours on end so there is often limited seating. The menu is the usual, but they don't quite get it right yet. And the place is not clean. They don't stay on top of keeping the tables wiped, the bathroom cleaned or the floors vacuumed. For these prices, they should do better. The parking lot out front is small, but there is a large lot adjacent to the store, so it's not the problem others are making it out to be. read more

Excellent food and spacious location! If you want creative soups, salads, and sandwiches this is a great place for lunch. Quiche and pastries are yummy in the morning. Not sure why people complain about parking; there is huge lot adjacent for overflow. read more

It's a typical Panera Bread eatery. It's a lot cleaner than some other fast foods around town. Depending on when you go, you're gonna get service immediately, or you're going to wait for a significantly long time. Either way, the food is always fresh and the staff is always friendly. They've added the kiosks now and have the online ordering to simply and speed the process. They have also added the pagers and bring the food TO you, rather than crowd around the counter for your order. Atmosphere is typical standard issue sweatshirt, yoga pants, Ugg boots, and iPhone (with a side of Frat boy gym shorts), but the sit-and-study vibe works out well. Go for a You-Pick-Two soup and sandwich. Get the Mac and cheese and a baguette. read more

Worse and worse unfortunately is the theme. Having come here for the past 3-4 years, it saddens me to have to write this review, but when you spend $40-50 for a 3 person dinner meal you expect the quality and consistency, which is not what you get at this Panera. Many times I have brought home dinner for the family, just to realize, something is missing or not made correctly. Soups missing, ingredients on sandwiches missing, wrong items all together and being charged and given items I didn't even order. The last straw was when I brought home a soup and half salad for my wife, who let me mention is vegetarian, and pregnant with horrible nausea and can barely keep anything down. Her half salad was more like a quarter, but more importantly had tiny pieces of meat on it which was only noticed until she had taken a bite!! You can only imagine how sick she was. I called the manager and was given an unapologetic sorry and then was told they would send us some coupons as I did not want to drive back to town 20min away to get a refund. Obviously coupons never arrived, but I am happy they didn't, so I will not be tempted to visit this establishment again. read more

I've eaten here several times, and I do like their menu as a change of pace. It is however a bit pricey (in my opinion), and is still fast food.....just a gussied up version of it. This particular location has very little parking. Not sure how the City of Ithaca let's some businesses utilize a postage stamp sized lot, while other projects are shot down because they don't have sufficient parking? Well, that's another argument for another day, but the lack of parking sometimes means going elsewhere for lunch, after driving though the parking lot, only to find no available spots. While the food itself was fine, the management and services seems to need improvement. First, they were out of stock of something I ordered, but it seems the cashier hadn't been updated on that. Then when they brought my order out, they didn't get it quite right, and as I looked at my receipt, and it was also incorrect. A similar thing happened to the table next to ours, where they ordered something but they were out of stock, and the table behind us was assumed that they wanted whipped cream without asking first. read more

I've definitely been to better panera breads. Not always freshest ingredients used. Not friendly service either. Really hit or miss for us and we have been here about 5 times. We will keep going since we love panera, but just disappointing sometimes. read more

Wish they were cheaper, but I liked the setting. I really liked the soup and my friend got a huge bowl of salad which I stole from. Honestly, the salad was like a regular salad. Just opened recently, and a corporate chain, so you get hype and a pleasant setting--although the pastry and bread looked like it was constructed from play school dough and baked to an uneventful brown hardness--form without substance. i ordered a turkey and artichoke panini, my dining companion ordered an Asiago and roast beef sandwich. We shared, each taking half. The cheese on the Asiago and roast beef was a garish yellow looking and tasting like processed American cheese. In fairness the baguette on which the sandwich was constructed seemed to have some white cheese baked to the top crust. The Asiago? We are still looking for the artichoke on the turkey and artichoke panini. There was some sort of paste, dressing, glue holding things together that had leaves in it that looked like kale or spinach. Perhaps this was a puree of artichoke with additional greens? But come on guys, if you say turkey and artichoke, there should be some artichoke on the sandwich. If you say Asiago and roast beef there should be some asiago in the sandwich, not simply decorating the top crust. The food was not bad, just dismal: so much hype for white bread and yellow mustard. read more

I am a big fan of Panera Bread. The Ithaca store has the same food quality as that of other stores in the U.S. However, the ambiance is not as nice and clean as many of the locations I have been to. I would have given 4 stars if the store was a bit cleaner. read more

I have been going to this Panera for several years. I live in Binghamton, but we spend a lot of time in Ithaca due to you my daughters activities. This is not the first time I have experienced this. I went to the drive through at 8:15. First of all, they were "out of most types of bread" How can Panera BREAD be out of any of their bread. It infuriates me. However that is not even the worse part. So I ordered on white bread and when I get to the drive up window I proceed to sit there for literally 30 minutes while I watch the workers cleaning. They are not closed for the night, but rather than make my order they are literally cleaning. After 20 minutes I see them starting to make my order. Then he comes to the window with it and says sorry it took so long. I could not even bring myself to say anything. The employees should know what when a customer is sitting at drive thru we can see EVERYTHING going on in the kitchen. Even the manager who walked by the mess several times. When I finally get the order, the inside of the panini was actually cold. I will not go here again. read more

Today I had a great experience that just made my bad day great again. I go through the drive threw and order my bagel and tea and realized I left my wallet at home I go to tell them to void my order bc I can't pay and they hand it to me and say "everyone has those days". Today I had the worst Panera experience of my life at the Ithaca location. Usually everything is fine, but today was completely terrible. At first it seemed okay, considering my family and I waited until we thought the lunch rush would be over (about 2:30) to go. There was no line to order. I had asked for the Pick 2 with a chicken caesar salad and mac n cheese, and an iced green tea, but by that time of the day they were already out of mac n cheese as well as the green tea. I quickly chose something else, and my family and I got our drinks and sat down to wait. Literally 30 minutes later our food was brought to us. Way too long of a wait for a "fast food" type restaurant. When the food did come, 3/4 salads did not have dressing, and my mom's "Asian salad" consisted of lettuce, chicken, and sliced almonds. That's it. Many people around us were told that their orders had to be changed because certain things had run out, and at least 3 people around me had received their meal and it turned out to be wrong. On my way out I warned others about my experience. Totally sucked, although the manager was very nice and worked extremely hard to try to keep things running smooth- I felt bad for her. read more
