A couple of months ago I ordered online for a pick up. When I arrived at the predicted time the subs were not ready so I sat and waited. Then I waited some more. Then I walked up to the counter and asked the person making the subs how long it would take. I was informed one sub was made, but the second still needed to be completed and would be ready shortly. So I sat back down and waited some more. After another 15min another employee ringing up a walk-in customer realized I was waiting a looong time since I had been sitting there for almost 40min total. That person asked me what I ordered and immediately found it waiting behind the counter! It was never moved to the pickup shelf and was completely ignored. Once I got home I submitted feedback to DiBella's via their website. I was sent a coupon code for my next visit. I waited a week then decided to use the coupon to order on my phone app. Well, the coupon code would not work no matter what I tried. I used my laptop's browser to order with the same result, "coupon code not found." I then submitted feedback again to DiBella's on their website and to this day I have not heard anything back from them. I've decided to give up on them completely and tried to delete my account via the phone app and received the error message, "Route not found." This is the most amateur operation I've ever seen. I just want to say the employees of the Ithaca location are VERY nice and have been the best part of my experience with DiBella's. It just seems like once something goes wrong, the efforts to make things right just make it worse. read more

They made 8 sandwiches and knocked them out of the park. I read the reviews and agree with other yelpers medium subs are the right size unless you are starving. We were hungry but not starving so we ordered the medium. The moving guys all wanted tuna on everything but the bagel sub rolls with lettuce and tomatoes with some mayo! They loved them. The boyfriend had turkey on everything but the bagel sub roll with lettuce and tomato, he loved it too. Of course, I had the veggie sub with tons of fresh and delicious vegetables on multi-grain roll. My veggies were lettuce, tomatoes, onions, cucumbers, pickles, sweet peppers, banana peppers, roasted red bell peppers, and spinach with spicy brown mustard. Just amazing. If I had one way to make it even better please add more mustard to the sandwich. Highly recommend! Run don't walk to this gem of a sandwich shop! read more

It was getting late, when I came across DiBella's and decided to go in for a sub. With few sub shops in Ithaca and vastly different qualities, I decided to try DiBella's to avoid the only other open shops like Subway. I was pleasantly surprised with my experience! Coming in 20 minutes to closing (sorry about that again!), I was still met with friendly staff who helped me navigate the menu. I ordered two "$9.99 5" mini meals" which were actually great! I wanted to eat something light but filling for dinner, and this meal deal was perfect! The portion was just right. Additionally, the subs are super affordable and customizable without stupid upcharges. I ordered a veggie sub which was really delicious! I also have heard that their meat options are tasty! Do I think it lives up to their self-proclaimed slogan of "being the best sub sandwich you've ever had?" Not exactly. But I can say that the subs are pretty good and maybe the best SERVICE I've ever had at a sub shop, especially in Ithaca. This place is better than Subway, Jimmy John's, Firehouse Subs, and Panera. I genuinely enjoyed my meal and I'm sure the non-veg options are super delicious. Additionally, the restaurant was pretty clean and has good seating for lunch. Although I've never been here during busy times, the subs were made pretty quick! My only complaint is that the packaged pickle you can buy as a side order is very average. Not a good classic NY sour pickle, so I would avoid it and buy chips instead. Overall really happy with my food, and the friendliness I experienced from the team at DiBella's really drives me to recommend this place even more. They're also super attentive with food allergies and openly tell which ingredients may not align with your dietary restrictions. Shoutout to 2nd manager Dariyen (? DiBella's still makes some of the best subs in Ithaca, arguably. I'm updating my review because I'm disappointed with how the service has become. I came a couple of weeks ago with some friends, and we were forced to stand there and wait for over 20 minutes to even place an order, as the employees were busy with what seemed to be an enormous online order. Had I never been here before and known that they made great subs, I definitely would've walked out, which is what nearly everyone behind me in line did. read more

Food is generally great- service is terrible. Waited over 25 minutes for three medium subs to be made- and we were the only ones in the restaurant! There were 4-5 employees working. The one that took our order sat down on a break in the store (before we even got our food) and one male employee was in the women's bathroom for a very extended time and when he finally left & I went in, the toilet seat was left up. This was our favorite place to stop going through Ithaca but I don't know anymore. UPDATE: when we finally got our food, my Philly Cheesesteak sub had only a little cheese and meat- not enough to even cover the length of the roll and no peppers onions or mushroom. I'm giving this the stars for price, size and quality. So the subs are huge and the prices are great. Also, we catered from here before and it was a good price and everyone liked their subs. We had Buffalo chicken and cheesesteak. Both were good. I liked the Buffalo chicken sub better than the cheesesteak. The bread is too thick is my only issue here. The steak is not top quality however the price makes sense and it wasn't anything bad or not edible. I would definitely come back here and use this place for catering. read more

We stopped by unplanned for dinner on a Friday evening. We were greeted and served very promptly. The staff were very welcoming. We ate inside because we felt comfortable about the cleanliness and distancing. We received our subs (even my hot one) very quickly and they were delicious. My husband loved his Godfather--the meat was fresh and flavorful and he got his fave toppings. I got a meatball sub--tender and yummy. (Only little complaint is the skimpy amount of cheese.) The Ithaca DiBella's is my favorite go to restaurant for subs. Everything about the experience is the absolute best! Their staff are always so friendly, kind, and professional. The food? OMG the food is amazing. There hasn't been a single time in my frequent visits that I haven't had bread so fresh that it practically melts in your mouth. I had the chicken Caesar salad and it was fabulous! The lettuce was very fresh and the chicken was cooked perfectly; it was cooked but not overcooked which often happens with chicken breast. My only suggestion is that the bacon be cooked a little more so that it is crisp; next time I will mention this when I place my order online. Philly CHEESE steak sub was missing the cheese (yes, I ordered cheese)! And mayo and any kind of sauce. Horribly bland. Just a fresh roll with a few pieces of chicken peppers and onions, but mostly dry roll. My husband spit his out and wouldn't eat it because it had grizzly chicken. read more

Nice place! Two vegetarian sub options available, plus salads. Bread was fantastic(!) - reminiscent of a NYC/NJ deli. Best hoagie I've had in the area. Interior is "old fashioned" - comfy booths at metal tables, stamped metal ceiling, black and white photos on the walls, 30's big band playing on the radio. Staff was friendly & helpful. Potato chips are Miss Vickies! Prices for a meal (hoagie + chips + drink) are comparable to Subway, but much better tasting! Will definitely return. read more

Absolutely fantastic. I was back in Ithaca for a hockey game and I've been known to travel far distances for DiBella's when craving it (during the summer of '16, I traveled 90 minutes from MA to CT just to get my fix!), so when I was in town a few days after DiBella's opened, how could I NOT try Ithaca's newest (and best) sub location? The thing that I was most impressed with was efficiency and kindness. Rochester knows how to do subs and the people they trained in Ithaca are no different. There was a decent line on the Saturday afternoon that I was there (they opened officially on Thursday, so still in the early opening days), but the line moved super quickly and everyone knew exactly what was going on. When I ordered a sub by name, I didn't have to repeat what meat was in it, I only said what type of bread, cheese, etc. once. Definitely on top of their stuff. AND, unlike *my* DiBella's on East Ave, they have COKE ZERO! Talk about exciting. My only knock down from 5 stars was that the bread, while great, was not quite up to the quality I expect from DiBella's. I'm not sure if that's because they overbaked the amount they'd need in the morning, or what, but the bread was just a little tougher than I was used to. I go back and forth from dining in at DiBella's and having DiBella's 4-5 hours after my boyf picks it up for me. Unfortunately, both rolls were just a little tougher than we were used to. We got the DiBella's Philly and the Uncle Louie on plain and multigrain respectively, so we did try different types of bread and noticed it was the same with both. Even with that, I would not hesitate to go back with regularity. The vibe was great (nice and busy, too!), the people were awesome, and food was solid. read more

Great Subs, I was in town a couple of days both the Tuna and Chicken Buffalo were outstanding. Service was average. One annoying aspect was that at 6:15pm on a Sunday night, the floor was clean and dry; but they blocked the entire two rows of seating. This left five two seated tables, and a round table for five. This large restaurant sectioned off. Very poor way to treat customers. I read at my table and left at 7:30pm, still just the small section open. If I were local and this is their policy I would never return. You are opened until 9 pm, start cleaning at 8:30pm not close off an entire restaurant from 6pm. Wrong message to customers! read more

Stopped because we had never been, and not sure I would go back. There are too many other choices in the area. My husband wanted a grilled sub and they told us they could heat the meat, but not toast the roll. Not sure why that would have been too much to ask. Seemed pretty expensive for a chain sub shop.
