)-1 actually...Where do I start.. The young guy working the register had no clue what he was doing. We asked for 2 bread bowls. I was informed they only had one left. I backed up and punted, ok things happen. My kids and wife are hungry. So I went to order my daughter's sandwich and they asked me 3 times which one?? Umm you dont know your own menu?? Then when I got my son to finally agree to something, he asked for a baguette as his side. The cashier then read me my order. Totally wrong. I repeated myself and he got it wrong again. I asked if he was even listening. He was like yea I was.. I then asked for someone who knew what they were doing to ring me up. He took offense to this. Well sir if you dont know how to enter a simple order, not my fault. A young girl came over to ring me up. She didn't like the fact I asked for another cashier but I would think you should listen and get orders right. We walked out. I hope they made and wasted that bread bowl because it was pathetic that at 5 pm you have no food. There was only 2 other people inside. found a finger nail, one of those glue on ones, in my tuna salad sandwich today, 01/30/2026, at around 2:30-3pm. didn't discover till at home because my wife only ate 1/2 of her sandwich. Totally grossed out. Apparently they don't wear gloves when preparing food. Makes you wonder if they bother to wash hands after using the bathroom. Makes all other considerations totally irrelevant. A consistently solid Panera Bread experience. Really enjoyed the limited time FRENCH DIPPER sandwich, especially the french onion soup like dip. Small point, the sandwich just fits into the dipping cup which is probably industry standard size. But if had a little more room would make partial dipping an option. Every Panera seems to have it's own floor layout but a unifying theme. I like that little bit of variety. This one has different chamber like segments which makes it feel a bit like a vacay getaway, lodgy. The front if the store has plenty of sunlight, great in the late fall to winter. Supplements the warmth of a coffee or soup. And the back portions are more shaded. The food is Panera good. There was a little confusion in explanation to us of the current promotions, which seemed simple enough to me. So possibly a little bit on explaining would be of benefit. Overall a good experience to include with the staff. This Panera sits well in the middle of this Kernersville shopping strip. Conveniently located well off Main Street and near SALEM PARKWAY US421. Gave it another shot. The customer service was better. The food was decent. The cleanliness was poor. The store needs a serious power wash. One or more of the tea/lemonade dispensers was leaking quite a bit. The puddle that had formed on the counter and continued to the floor was huge. It has obviously been happening for quite a while because the black mold that was all over the floor and wall was thick. The baseboard has also pulled away from the wall due to the amount of liquid that runs down it. The floor was sticky and dirty. We stopped in BEFORE the dinner crowd and the place was a mess. What once was a nice place to just have lunch has slowly gone downhill in the past couple of years. My husband and I decided to have lunch here today but was so disappointed in just about everything that I didn't even bother to take pictures. The price is for a sandwich and a salad cost over $40. The place was unkempt. The way they were handling our drink cups made me cringe and thankful for straws. I just don't think they care anymore. The prices are ridiculous. No rewards anymore and yet they ask for a tip upon completion of your order. I highly doubt we will be back. read more

Thanks for really practicing social distancing. The drink machines where one fills and refills using the same cup are compromised. Other than that and the closeness of outdoor seating, I felt Panera was doing their part to keep guests safe. We ate inside and tables are clearly marked to maintain space. We were hungry for salads and Panera is a go to for a variety of filling healthy salads. The green goddess Cobb and Asian were our choices. They did not disappoint! I went full-size, someone else in our party did the half size with a half salad and another was satisfied with just half-size salad. All varieties come with choice of side bread or chips. Next time, I will try the flatbreads. Generous serving size (enough for a second lunch or share with a friend). They looked delicious! read more

Ordered from Panera today through Uber Eats. Service was very quick; delivered ahead of estimated time. I ordered the chicken and wild mushroom soup and it arrived still nice and hot! Also ordered the half smokehouse bbq chicken. It arrived warm and freshly wrapped. The only thing -it looks smaller than it used to be which I wasn't crazy about especially since prices have increased a bit. The taste is still good; however. Overall always enjoy this meal especially the warm delicious soup! The 4 rather than 5 is due to the price increases and what appears to be smaller portion for the sandwich. read more

The coffee bar, lemonade and tea offer enough for any discriminating foodie. The Kernersville location was quick when I ordered. The cashier who took my order was helpful by suggesting the combo. Incredibly kind manager and staff. We camped out here two days before Christmas after having wheel problems 800 miles into a 900 mile drive from Chicago to Raleigh. Car was being fixed down the road, staff was super friendly and reassuring and I think the manager actually hugged my wife who was thinking she was about to miss Christmas with her family. We got back on the road and actually was kind of a positive experience because everyone we met in this town was so darn nice. Good job Kernersville. read more

I have been to this location multiple times, and each visit I'm surprised at how it's possible to be worse than the last visit. I've experienced multiple things, like a girl who had just cleaned a table come over and take my order and start to prepare my food without washing her hands. Yes I asked her to wash her hands, which she did. Another visit a young man set a bagel I ordered directly on the counter top, which had clearly not been wiped off for a while. Needless to say, the staff could benefit from some ServSafe training, and maybe a harsh visit from the health department. Food-wise, what I've managed to get has been alright aside from the price of course. The biggest problem is that they are always out of things. Popular items like Bagels and pastries, and not even late in the day. I've been as early as 9am before and my only options in the bagel basket were plain, blueberry, and cinnamon crunch. People enjoy eating bagels at all hours of the day, maybe prepare for that? Upper Management definitely needs to do some work on this location or otherwise shut it down. This Panera is like any Panera besides one key component: a single employee. The Kernersville location has always been a little slower but today when I went in, the nicest employee was there. He told me my shirt looked clean and that he loved me, but more importantly he hoped my dreams came true. The broccoli cheddar soup was amazing as always. I was having a rough night until I stumbled upon this Panera bread location in kernersville, I was delighted with the welcoming of a handsome young man wearing the name tag "og mudbone" . He seemed to be the only worker who could answer my questions even after consulting the manager. After I placed my order, I only waited roughly 5-7 minutes to again see him alone preparing my sandwich and pouring my soup as if he was single handedly running this store. I have been to this location before, now it looks like the employees do not care about the cleanliness of the place anymore. The floor in front of the register and serving counter was very dirty. The drink machine area was also not clean. Additionally, the women's bathroom smelled of urine and trash. Also, they were out of hazelnut coffee, so I tried the lite coffee instead, it tasted similar to McDonald's coffee with a high level of acidity-meaning it wasn't fresh. Living in Kernersville, I've been coming to this location for years, and although the food is consistently good, the service and management is by far the worse. Always slow and disorganized! Waiting for coffee to be brewed is a standard here during breakfast along with souffles rarely prepared. Kind of an average to below average Panera. I stopped in for a quick bite as I was passing through and had a craving for a warm chocolate chip cookie. I was disappointed - this is the first Panera I've been to that had no warm cookies! The cashier said, "I guess no one put any out on the warmer plate." A little bit of passing the buck to be sure, but also, it shows a lack of front end management. If your pastries are a go-to and a symbol of your store, you should do your very best to keep that front end stocked. And if you can't, then you supply your staff with information on what they should tell customers. Communication is so important, especially for front of house. I know it seems to be a lot just because I was disappointed about cookies, but again, your front of house should always be the part of your business that looks the best and runs the best. I've been going to this Panera location on a regular basis since I started working in Kernersville about a year ago. Generally speaking they do a decent job, as compared to other Panera locations. Usually the food and service are pretty good and they generally are on the ball with order accuracy. I tend to get the Rapid Take Out since so I can just pop in and pop out without a wait. Occasionally the order will be a little off and I don't discover it until I'm already back at work, but I just shrug it off and try to enjoy the food anyway. Today, however, I had the worst experience I have had at any Panera location. I walked into the establishment shortly before 2 pm. There were a fair number of people in the restaurant, but it wasn't overwhelmingly busy by any means. I walked up to the counter and looked over the menu. There I stood for several minutes waiting for someone to walk up to the cash register and help me. Several employees saw me and continued about their business without batting an eye. Finally, one cashier walked up with a stern/bored look on her face and said she could take the next person's order. I walked up, asked for a You Pick Two with a chicken Caesar salad and a cup of French onion soup. She asked if I wanted bread. I asked if I could get baked chips instead. Without a word she rang up my order. Curtly asked if I had a My Panera card, which I did. She told me I had enough points to save a dollar on my meal, I said sure. She seemed like she was in a foul mood for some reason, but at this point I just wanted to order my food and be done with the exchange. She muttered thank you while handing me my receipt and cup (I ordered a water) then proceeded to the next customer. While unpleasant, it was not the worst part of the experience. I received my food from another employee, who also seemed to be in a foul mood, and headed out. Upon arriving back at work I discovered that not only had they not given me baked chips, they gave me no side at all. I was annoyed, but I wasn't going to drive back for a side. I also checked the receipt and it clearly said "baked chips" so someone other than the cashier dropped the ball. I opened my bag and saw that my French onion soup came with four croutons, disappointing but acceptable. The soup was fine other than being a bit short on onions. The problems again arose with the salad. My chicken Caesar salad had no dressing. Not on the salad, not in a container beside the salad, nowhere to be found at all. Call me spoiled, but I don't enjoy a salad without any dressing at all. I ate some of it but couldn't really enjoy it. Overall, I usually enjoy my dining experiences with Panera. They have good, if a bit expensive, food. When you consider the fact their focus on fresh and "clean" food as a cornerstone of their business it's worth a bit of extra money. Unfortunately, I am apprehensive about returning to this location. I would rather go to the locations in Winston-Salem where the service is consistently good. If I do go back, I will have to thoroughly check that my order is correct before I depart. Maybe it was my own fault for not checking this time, but I don't think I should have to scrutinize a relatively simple food order before going about my business. Regarding the attitudes, I understand that everyone has bad days but please don't take it out on your customers if they haven't done anything to warrant it. read more

The boy at the counter with the name tag "Hudson" was completely rude to the women in front of me. She wasn't being a bad customer she just had a few questions about the pick two options which are never accurate on the board there anyway. He was dismissive and responded very rudely.. Like sorry you don't want to be there I get it!! But don't be mad at the people paying for the service. The food in this Panera is as good as any....but the experience my wife and I had last night was terrible, service-wise. When I tell you it took a half an hour to get our food, I'm not exaggerating. As I said, the food is the same as you'd expect at any Panera. It's a chain and they all work from the same playbook. But this one needs to train it's people better or figure out a better organization strategy so they can make people's food faster and more accurately (while I was waiting I saw an instance where an item was made wrong and another were an entire meal was missed in a group). read more
