Had a wonderful experience for lunch today at Panera Bread at Springhurst. I rarely eat at any of the locations anymore, but today may have changed my mind. I wanted soup and a salad. While placing my order on the kiosk, it appeared they had a special for chicken noodle soup and half a strawberry poppyseed salad for only $12.78. I got the chips as my side and a cup for ice water. Within only a few minutes, my name was called to the counter that my order was ready. I was able to find a table near the big glass windows. I was given a bowl (not cup) of the soup and it was hot and had lots of chicken and noodles in it. I remember on several occasions in years past that it was mainly broth that would be served. So, I was pleasantly surprised today. It tasted delicious too. The salad was as good as I remembered it used to be with lots of blueberries, pineapple, strawberries, and orange slices in the lettuce salad. I will definitely be back. read more

I am a fan of Panera Bread overall. However, the last few times I've ordered from this particular location. they got my order wrong and missed giving us a bagel, a soup, or something. I called to let them know multiple times about the orders. I talked to the manager to see what they could do. First they were going to credit my card, then they said they were going to send me a coupon in the mail. Neither of these happened. Very frustrating. I remember coming here a lot with my family on Sunday's after church. It's packed but we always found a parking spot and a table. I've ordered so many things on the menu, but my go-to is now the chipotle chicken. I still miss the old menu even though it was unhealthy. LOL. I also used to come a lot before work to get breakfast here. The drive thru seemed slow...in comparison to Jimmy John's. I'm not a huge fan of their coffee but their breakfast sandwiches were good even though they were a bit pricey. Definitely something I didn't splurge on very often. read more

Silly me. I was expecting a sandwich that had meat in both halves. One half-good. Delicious bread, chicken, etc. other half: 2 tiny pieces with a tiny cheese.... Then there's the bagel. Really? So I stop by my local Panera this afternoon around 4:30 to pick up dinner, arrive to the drive thru and the employee says "I'm sorry but we're out of everything! I couldn't help but laugh but in disbelief, I replied "of everything?" I then attempted to order a large drink but they were out of large cups also. This is ridiculous! How does a business like Panera not have anything? I'm sure this is ran as a franchise but clearly has management issues. What I got was a sad, poorly cut, half burnt sandwich with barely any mozzarella, a light af sprinkling of arugula, and the sauces smeared all over the inside. This isn't a sandwich. I used to eat at Panera Bread at least 3 times a week while living in Nashville and sometimes even more than that...so I guess I got a little burned out. I normally get some type of sandwich soup combo but today, BAGELS ALL THE WAY!!! I LOVE the EVERYTHING Bagel...and the Onion Bagel. I always get the plain cream cheese, never a fan of the flavored cheeses. I love Panera, but, I think that the current state of finding employees to work has greatly affected their business. The last few times that I have ordered, my order was not complete and they were out of a lot of menu items. This is an ongoing issue right now in the restaurant business and I feel very bad for the people who actually show up for work. Lots of times I don't write a review of a business because it was fault of just one person who ticked me off. The business itself was doing a good job. Many times the business does a good job due to following company policies. In this case it is Panera's company policies which upset me. To begin with Panera's menu is full of ingredients and fat content. This is an old trick chefs have been using for decades. List a bunch of pretentious ingredients to make the meal seem more important. The fancier the food the more you can charge . Their seating area is really upscale. The entire area is carpeted. Many small seating areas with floor lamps. There is lots space for walking around. All very nice and obviously catering to a young upscale croud. The WiFi and the air conditioning made this the perfect safe haven during my recent power-outage. But I found myself staying much longer than I planned! Everything was so convenient. I went for breakfast and was able to charge my phone and my laptop right next to me while I ate. I felt so at ease that I ended up staying for lunch too! Today we did the Rapid Pick Up, we've also tried the drive thru it just isn't the same as if you go inside to eat. The attention to quality and quantity is very lacking. We ordered sandwiches, lots of bread very little meat and fillers. We dined in last week and didn't experience the same issue. Rapid pick up was placed on the shelf as I was walking up to that area. I've always been a fan of Panera Bread for lunch. Their soup and salad combo are priced right and fill me up. What I was suprised to find out, was how much I would like to go there for breakfast. My boyfriend and I went there on Saturday before a big day of shopping. Mind you, we slept in so didn't get there until 11:30ish. I wanted something small and I wanted to give him the option for lunch. I ordered a coffee and a cinnamon crunch scone. YES! I said it...CINNAMON CRUNCH SCONE. They took my favorite bagel and turned it into a delicious scone to accompany my hazelnut coffee. So, I could be behind the times, meaning, they probably have always offered it, I just never saw it, but still. It was flipping amazing! Panera Bread is sooooo addicting!! I have scouted out 4 stores near my place of employment. So which ever way I travel, bam, there's one there lol. My norm is breakfast. There is a good variety to select. I enjoy the spinach soufflés, but also now like the sausage/egg/cheese on ciabatta. There is a wide array of pastries to choose from also. My fav's are the pecan braid, cinnamon roll and bear claw. And to wash it all down is hazelnut coffee. So far the staff at each location I have been to are extremely friendly. The atmosphere is pleasant and the volume is fairly low. I have not had any issues, knock on , but you may want to arrive early during the work week for they get pretty busy with peoples heading to work. Fresh hazelnut coffee and a breakfast sandwich is all I needed every morning during my stay in Louisville. This Panera certainly delivers quick and fresh food. I came here three days straight during my stay at the Courtyard since I didn't trust the cafe within the hotel and in glad I did. I strolled in at 6:50-7 each morning and I never had to stand in line. I definitely recommend coming here if you need a quick morning fix or have a hankering for some sweets.
