Enjoyed a nice meal last night at this McAlisters. I ordered the old Spud Ole! (Not specifically on the menu anymore but they can easily make it.) it's a giant potato cut open and has chili on top and jalapeños and cheese and comes with a side of sour cream and butter. It's fantastic! My friend had a chicken salad sandwich on gluten-free bread with a cucumber and tomato salad. Both looked amazing and tasted equally amazing. Hot/Cool and fresh! Food came out quickly! The iced tea is world class here. It tastes like tea. A young lady came around to check on us on nice and that was nice. read more

On one fateful, evening, my wife was feeling under the weather, and since it was her turn to cook, I volunteered to handle dinner. After multiple rounds of discussions, a decision it was made. She wanted a baked potato from McAlister's. Now it has been many many years since I eaten at a McAlister's. I have not darken their doors since I lived in Atlanta, so it has been over 10 years. So when she finally told me what she wanted and how she wanted it I headed down to the closest one. Not having ate there in years, I wanted to wait until I was in the store to make my decision for my entree. I parked and walked in. I was greeted my a very nice employee who took my wife's order and helped me to decide what I wanted. With his help, I landed on the Memphian, Roasted turkey, Black Forest ham, Black Angus roast beef, provolone, spring mix, tomato, mayo and spicy brown mustard on baguette. All the stuff I like. I also picked the potato salad as my side. My order came out quickly and I headed back home. I honestly was not expecting much, but I was wrong. My Memphian had great taste and the potato salad was another pleasant surprise. My wife enjoyed her Baked potato with all of her options, and I really enjoyed my sandwich. The service was as good as he food. All I can say it that it will not be another 10 years before I give McAlister's my business. read more

I was eating my meal when two women walk in with a lap dog that was not a service animal. They walked right up to the counter and started chatting with the employees whom they clearly personally knew. They allowed the dog to dine in with the woman. Normally I would ignore but the dog was literally whining for food the entire time I was trying to eat! I noticed another couple was also disturbed by the crying dog, noting it wasn't a service animal. It cried and whined and begged the entire time in the store and I could not believe they allowed it! I didn't get a photo because I would never take someone's photo without their knowledge but I'd be willing to talk with someone about my experience, preferably not the management that allowed it. read more

McAlister's is one of those restaurants that's one our weekly Sunday Lunch rotation. The food is always good, the service is always pleasant, and we've never had a problem. This is a newer location, having taken over what once was the Genghis Grill. (I actually really miss that place). The McAlister's menu is extensive, with salads, hot and cold sandwiches, salads, and spuds. Yes, baked potato entrees. VERY COOL and unique! I can personally recommend the Spud Ole if you're looking for a starchy Mexican stomach filler, and it never fails to make you happy. My current favorite sandwich is the Turkey Jalapeño Crunch. Seriously. It's got turkey, bacon, avocado, potato chips, and comes on a VERY tasty Jalapeño bun. Yes, that said potato chips (hence the "crunch" part) and it was AMAZINGLY good. Since she wasn't feeling well my wife had the Chicken Tortilla soup. Delivery times were very reasonable, and our food was brought out on real plates, not paper or plastic. And a metal fork. You don't realize how many times you eat with paper and plastic until you're given the real stuff. The staff was very pleasant and kept busy. The restaurant was kept clean, and tables were cleaned almost immediately after they were emptied. The staff also refills your iced tea frequently (and their iced tea is awesome). Incidentally, when you order an Iced Tea at McAlister's, be prepared. It's not so much a cup as it is a tankard. And I'm not kidding. Try it the next time you're there. read more

Didn't actually get to eat. 4 pm on a Sat. They were out of potatoes. Ordered a veg sandwich. Sides cost extra unless you want a bag of chips. Man who took order nice. Waitress nice. Then a very young woman steps in for a diatribe on how they aren't fixing as many potatoes because they were always making too many burning them, and throwing them away. When I didn't want to hear it, she blew up and ranted for 15 minutes. Was still yelling when I had my refund and was walking out. She is the shift manager/asst mgr. Her mother is the mgr. Apparently this gives her cart blanch to say or do whatever she wants. Other diners stopped us on the way out wanting to comment on the tirade. I took video and when I started, she got less loud but just refused to stop ranting. Can you imagine being a mature worker and reporting to someone who has these kinds of tantrums? read more

I've been to two different locations and ordered the same thing each time. The Springhirst location is awesome and gives me the juiciest French dip sandwich ever. Never fails. The Lime Klin rd/Brownsboro rd location gave me what looked and tasted like the day before leftover sandwich which was burnt and dried out with hardly no meat in it. I don't care to ever go to that one again. I'm giving 4 stars for Springhirst and no stars for Lime Kiln. Update: I gave the Lime Kiln / brownsboro rd McAlisters a second chance. Again the French dip was horrible. Bad beef, burnt, tasted like leftover bad burnt beef sandwich. The cheese was even burnt and horrible. Never again will I go there. read more

We stopped in here for a quick bit while out shopping. We ordered immediately with no wait. The employees were masked and friendly. We were given a number and sat down at a table. Our food came pretty quickly. My friend and I got the choose two deal with sandwiches and salads. We opted for large sweet teas because everyone knows McAlister's has THE BEST sweet tea. Compared to all of the McAlister's in town this one is fairly new and the customer service is impeccable as always but most of all the Smoky Pepper Jack Turkey Sandwich is the best quality I have tasted at any McAlister's I have been to. The Mac and Cheese has more of a pronounced cheese flavor and the pickle is just a pickle. Food came out within 5 minutes. Back to the sandwich the difference between this sandwich and any other one I have had is that the bread is crispy on the outside but sought on the inside and the bacon is crispy and with every bite it makes me want to get up and order another. From someone not from Louisville, I would call this the Panera of the south. We ordered the chili, mushroom soup, and the jalapeño crunch sandwich. The chili was ok, not a lot of flavor and no beans and tomatoes. My son was ok with it though. The Mushroom soup had quite a bit of flavor, topped with fried onions and scallions. You can definitely taste the Sherri or some type of alcohol in the soup very flavorful. The jalapeño crunch was fantastic my favorite by far. Came with melted cheese, turkey, bacon, and fresh avocados on a jalapeño bun. Great sandwich would definitely order it again. Also if you like sweet tea, you will definitely like this tea. read more

The wife and I were Out doing some errands for Easter and the ear urge came on! Big problem a lot of the time since she is vegan and I'm not. So McAlisters was the final settlement for our urge. She got Tuna Salad sandwich and salad, I got the Rueben with chips and have to say I will be back was good and serve was great and speedy. The lemonade was great also even got a refill at my seat. All was good and the atmosphere was pleasure and our order taker was great even though she team up with my wife against me. Long story all good. I just ordered a lunch for two. $31.20. 1 Ruben (which was good) with potato salad. The salad came in a 8 oz cup and it was less than 1/2 full. ($13.99 for sandwich and 1/2 cup of potato salad). Then 1 bowl of broccoli cheddar soup. Then 2 brownies. ($3.49 each.) Brownies are smaller than they used to be. Will not be going back until they give you what you pay for. This was our first visit here. We went because they are dog friendly. We were so pleasantly surprised with our meals. The Rueben and the fresh turkey sandwich were both delicious!! Their bread was also wonderful. The coleslaw side was some of the best coleslaw we've ever had and the macaroni and cheese was very good, The price was also very reasonable. My wife and I dined here recently. I had a fine ham sandwich and my wife had a good bowl of soup. We received our food in a timely manner and the restaurant seemed clean. The problem was that the establishment was over staffed with loud inattentive teenagers. We would have gotten much better service at the counter if half the employees had been gone. After having endured their heightened interest in each other at the counter we then had to listen to their laughing and giggling while we were eating. We noticed that other customers were also disappointed. There's too many other nearby establishments to put up with that again. read more

This is one of my friend's favorite restaurants, therefore, we visit this restaurant regularly. Depending upon where we are out and about, we visit the Lime Kiln or Springhurst location. They both have outdoor seating. He loves the pot roast potato and sweet tea. I usually get the pick 2. It has to include their Southwest Chicken salad and either a cup of soup or a half of a potato. This salad is Amazing! The salad has Grilled chicken, roasted corn, poblano and black bean relish, red onion, tomato, cheddar-jack, blue corn tortilla strips, avocado and the crispy mixed greens base is always fresh. I like to get the lime vinaigrette and the southwest ranch dressing on the side. If I have a carb craving, I like to get it with the spud ole. This is no longer on the menu, but, they are always willing to prepare it. The fresh potato has chili, cheese, a few jalapeños. It also comes with butter and sour cream on the side. The southwest ranch is good with it too! Finally, their Broccoli and Cheese soup is pure comfort. It is so good that I have ordered an entire quart of the soup several times. If you want to order a quart of any of their soups, they are available. When placing your order, you will need to directly call the restaurant. Do not go through the catering option on the phone prompt. This large serving will last me for several days and reheats very well. Also, they are doing a great job as far as following Covid protocol. One more tip, if you download their app, you can get a free tea on your first visit and build up points for special perks! Bon Appetit! read more

its very hard for me to eat out at deli and to give a unbiased account.In another life I trained as a meat cutter with full-service deli. I've also ran a full bakery operation in my earlier years. We owned a hot deli which which had made to order sandwiches and soups this is back in the 1980s...so I've never gotten into going out to soup and sandwich restaurants or even upscale fast food but there is this McAlister's & it's brand new it's opened up here across from Indian trail in Louisville and I had never tried one before. If you absolutely positively don't know how to cook and don't know how to make a sandwich and definitely don't enjoy cooking at home which seems to be every human being in Louisville Ky these days ...this could be for you. Seriously As far as a sandwich goes it's a decent sandwich as far as soup goes it's OK but I can also take my 1998 Chevy pick up truck and put a $20,000 paint job on it it's still going to be a 1998 Chevy truck .... The restaurant is beautiful it's brand new the booths are nice the restrooms are clean the front in spotless everything is new and everyone that waited on us was very nice your food brought out to you I(i included pictures )they clean up after you there's nothing that I can say about that that's bad and the food wasn't bad but it also wasn't something I would want again. Everyone was friendly, welcoming and didn't seem in a hurry although we received our food within minutes. It's 21 degrees outside and EVERYTIME we come here the air conditioning is on! There are so many overhead vents it stays drafty! Closer out by the window seats the restaurant is literally freezing at 2 pm! These people do not know what heat is! Or customer comfort! Literally everyone in here has their heavy winter jackets on! Benita (cashier) was very rude and short. Gave attitude and very hateful responses when asked simple questions about the menu. When I asked what the drink options were, without even a response, she just pointed at the coke machine for me to look for myself.
