The BBQ chicken mac and cheese gave me food poisoning. Its the only thing I ate that someone else in our group didn't also eat when we went up north for the weekend. It wasn't overly hot when I received it, but seemed fine so I ate it anyway. Terrible mistake on my end. This was Friday evening 3/22 in case anyone had a similar experience. I have never written a bad review online, literally not ever. But i have had SO MANY instances of receiving food from here that was either not at all fresh, or the incorrect order, some instances both. Every single time i have ordered anything other than mac and cheese, the lettuce is ALWAYS brown. They often charge me for chicken and then don't give me any. Every single time i try to order an apple as a side for a healthy option, it is severely bruised or rotting. The only reason i have continued to come to this location is that it is conveniently located. I will never go here again after today. The lettuce in my salad was brown, the strawberries were browning and dried out, and my daughter's mac and cheese was very clearly spoiled. I will be traveling 20 minutes each way from now on when my daughter gets her mac n cheese treat, because i refuse to give this location my money one more time. read more

Not very happy tonight with Panera. Seemed to have run out of everything even bread which is kind of ironic. Espresso machine was also apparently broken and I was unable to order a beverage. Had to cancel my order and go to Wilton. Not impressed read more

Have always loved Panera but this new location can't get it right. Nearly every time I get take-out, they mess up my order. Even though 2 people often check the order, they still leave off the dressing, bread, chips, or pastry. I now have to take the time to pull everything out of the bag and check everything. If you can take an order, you should be able to follow the order to ensure the customer gets what they paid for. My salad today was missing the extra dressing I ordered and it contain unchewable branches of something I can't identify. Get your act together! read more

This is a nice new addition to Malta. Have been here multiple times and used the drive through, cafe, and rapid pickup. Being a brand new building, the order process is state of the art. Lots of order terminals, and wireless table tracker. Real simple to get your food and less chance of mistakes! Normal Panera menu, everything I've had has been prepared correctly and is fresh. Portions seem generous compared to some other local Paneras. read more

Best customer service I've experienced in the area! We made a mistake and accidentally ordered online rapid pick up from the Amsterdam location but thought we had ordered from this location. The manager called the other location to cancel our order, filled the order at this location, and then com'd the order for us so we didn't have to pay--AND IT WASN'T EVEN THIER MISTAKE! I order from this Panera probably 5 times a week due to the proximity of where I live and work, I've never been disappointed! Thank you all so much! read more

As of today I will NEVER go to the Malta Panera. Three strikes! Here's why - When the Panera was being built in my community I was very excited. My 12 year old son loves the chicken noodle soup, it is a real treat for him, and my commuting partner and I were looking forward to a new place to get the coffee that we love! I work in Albany and go to the Panera on Washington Ave extension frequently for lunch, coffee and baked goods. The service and quality has always been excellent. They are great at that store. I could not be MORE DISAPPOINTED with the Panera in Malta. My first experience was to get take-out dinner for my whole family which included, of course, the begged-for chicken noodle soup for my son. It was broth and a few noodles. Really? I figured they just opened, they are new, this will improve. Next I stopped for coffee on my way to work. ALL the carafes were empty, when I asked when the next brew was coming out they practically rolled their eyes, like I was such an inconvenience. The staff seemed to be helpless without the manager. (they had to call the manager to find out when the coffee would be done? really?) I stood around for about 15 minutes (a significant delay when you work 40 minutes away) when finally the manager offered to make me an Americano. I was appeased and went away happy. Next I stopped with my commuting friend. She loves Panera coffee, we usually stop for Starbucks. The SAME experience as I had above was repeated, but this time the staff was even more put-out and no manager in sight. Finally I asked if they would make us both an Americano so we didn't have to wait (we already were waiting 10 minutes with just rolling eyes and a staff that looked unkempt and incompetent). They made what they thought was two Americanos. We headed off to work and it was just light brown swill. We dumped it out when we got to work it was so awful. As of today I will NEVER go to the Malta Panera, no matter how many times my son asks to go. He wanted his birthday party there, NO WAY. I will go to the one in Albany, but certainly this Panera Restaurant needs a DRASTIC SHAKE UP. read more

Went for lunch and ordered pick two and was asked to choose a side from Baguette, chips, apple and watermelon cup. I picked the watermelon cup since never had it in other stores as side. I was charged additional $1.35 for it (not been told) and when server brought my food there was no fruit cup. Half size salad and sandwich were both very small in size (salad was about half size of half size I get in other stores) and sandwich bread was soaked by dressing or something else. I have to ask for the watermelon cup after lunch, and it turned out there is everything but watermelon. I like Panera but will drive extra miles to other stores next time. read more

What! No coffee ready at 9:30 Sunday morning! Several people were waiting for it.When it did come out it wasn't enough for everyone to get a cup..My daughter ordered an iced latte. It came out hot in a regular hot cup,also was bland and tasteless. Breakfast sandwiches were just ok,but my cherry Danish was delicious. Get it better next time,Panera! read more

I had the best customer service experience at the Malta branch about a week or so ago when I went there to eat here for lunch. I needed coffee and food before my dance class later that night, so I ordered a caramel latte and a chicken panini. As the gentleman asked "For here or to go?" I dug through my purse for my wallet...only to find out that I had pulled it out of my purse earlier that day for an over-the-phone purchase and forgot to replace it in my bag. The only thing I found was a stray $5 bill on the bottom of my purse. Dejected, I explained that I left my wallet at home and I asked him for just the latte, as that's all I could afford. He asked if I was a regular, and when I told him yes, he grabed a woman behind the counter who must've be the manager, and explained it all to her. They told me that they could see it was an honest mistake, and they discounted the entire order for me! I was so surprised and so grateful. When the food was brought out everything tasted amazing. Couldn't have asked for better service! read more

A little pricey but the quality is worth it. The home delivery is great and we rarely have problems with orders.

so we decided to go to this panera after practice one day, there was five of us. We ordered about five things plus a few cookies. So first they give us two halves instead of the wholes we ordered, no straws and they make us wait out front for 10 minutes and finally we get our meal. I ordered a toasted bagel with cream cheese and when we look inside and there are two cream cheese packets and no bagel. This is not the first time they have messed up the order. i don't think they have gotten it right once. i don't recommend going to this panera. read more
