First time at this restaurant, first impression looks like it's always busy . Staff taking orders and preparing the meal were very helpful and knowledgeable. The restaurant was bright and clean ,prices are reasonable ,ordered the Philly steak sub and #13 small sub . Both were excellent and I was happy with experience. I must admit I read a few of the past negative reviews . So I was hesitant to try this franchise but having said this I didn't see anything wrong with this place. For a new location, this was disappointing. First of all, the joint was dirty. I was not happy about that at all. The main eating area was dirty and so was the men's bathroom (which generally indicates how clean the establishment probably is overall). Please see all my pics for proof. Philly cheesesteak flavor was overwhelmed by marinated sweet peppers and they use American cheese that they don't melt. They grill the meat and onions and then put that on the sub roll and put the cheese slices on top and wrap it up...the roll cannot be toasted or warmed, so you get hot beef/peppers, but cold cheese and sub roll. LAME!!!! Don't bother with a turkey sub as you can make one yourself just as good for a lot less! Wife and I split a giant sized Mike's Philly sub and we got 1 small soda and a bag of Cheetos. All total it was near 17 bucks. The sub was about 14 inches long. Sodas are high priced and they serve only Pepsi products. They also have unsweetened and sweetened ice tea with one Sobe LifeWater flavor and Lemondade on tap. They have a couple or three TVs going in the sit down eating area so that's cool. Volume turned all the way down. They also have outdoor seating. I would say go somewhere else. read more

We love Jersey Mike's, get them any time we want sandwiches (don't even bother with anyone else anymore, *especially* not Subway)... but that's not the review. The review story that will show you why you need to go here is much simpler. My in-laws came up a few weeks ago. We got Jersey Mike's. I got a call out of the blue yesterday, making sure that Jersey Mike's is where we'd gotten sandwiches during their visit. She got so excited when I said yes, because a Jersey Mike's just opened near them, and she wanted to make sure - and that was what they go for the night, with friends. Why? Because Jersey Mike's is that awesome. Literally every sandwich (I've probably tried 9 of them at this point) is delicious. They're well made every single time. Let's not joke around here, the quality is superior to Subway in every way, and anyone who says otherwise is probably living in the 1990s. Just go to Jersey Mike's. Then be happy you did. read more

The sub I got here for lunch was fine, once it was actually made correctly. The rest of my experience here was mediocre. It started well with the lady at the front of the sub-making assembly line. When it got to the next person, she mixed my sub up with a similar sub ordered by the person in front of me but with different toppings. It was only when I asked her to lift the top of the roll that I realized everything I wanted was missing. The guy after that was probably new. He was in charge of wrapping the completed subs, and the paper was winning. It was equally painful to watch him try to get the wrapped subs into the bags... it reminded me of the old stories of how you had to get into skinny designer jeans. It also would have helped if he asked in advance if an order was take out or stay in. You know what would also help? Cleaning the tables in the dining room periodically. These subs - with cornmeal on the bottom and lots of shredded lettuce - lose bits and pieces while you are eating them. I saw customers have to wipe their own tables down before they could eat on them. C'mon, guys, you can do better, and you need to. There are countless other food establishments in the area who would be eager to take away your business if you can't deliver better. read more

Our first experience at Jersey Mike's Subs was good.... the bread was good, but only one choice, the cold cuts were fresh and the topping were good and good choices. They didn't skimp on the cold cuts, we ordered a large and it was enough to share. Staff was very cordial, and patient as we placed our order. Our only suggestions would be to have a choice to get the sub toasted and maybe more different bread choices... oh, and maybe add soup... As far as chain sub joints go Jersey Mike's is top notch far above Subway, Mr. Subb's, and edging out Jimmy John's. What's not to like? Fresh sliced real meat and hot subs actually cooked on a grill and not just thrown in a microwave. My favorite is the Club Sub (Number 8) which is a perfect blend of bacon, ham, and turkey and I order this about 90% of the time. So why only 3 stars? This location in Clifton Park is perpetually understaffed. The staff who are there are all nice and clearly trying to do a good job but they are just too short handed which falls on whoever owns this particular location. As James D noted in his review this has resulted in some issues with cleanliness and if you see a line of around 10 people you can count on at least a 20 minute wait. I've actually only seen both slicers being used during the first month after their opening. read more

The staff (that has been there for months) is completely untrained - they know one little portion of working there and if you ask them anything else, the answer is, "I don't know how to do that." And the Assistant Manager is a complete jerk and always putting down staff that aren't there, including a person that I am assuming is the Manager. The Assistant Manager is also extremely unfriendly and sometimes completely rude to customers!!! Literally the best sub chain out there. It MIGHT not beat your local Mom & Pop, family owned Local sub joint but DAMN it's good, really really good! Plus their open when Mom & Pops closed at 6 pm I order the giant Italian original each time, Mike's way with salt pepper, extra vinegar and oregano. 13.99 and it feeds me and my son for dinner. Each bite is a delight!!! The place is clean, the employees are nice as well. They slice the meat to order so it hasn't been sitting in a make table or cooler all day. They did offer the customer a "free" Brownie to make up for it. There were only 2 people in front of me when I got there.. and 5 people behind the counter working..but yet it took almost 15 min for anyone to even ask me what I wanted. They forgot the bacon and the banana peppers when making the sandwich. Instead of adding them for me, they put them in a cup for me to take home and add myself. Once I was home I realized they had forgotten their signature oil and vinegar dressing that I had asked for. At the end of the day I paid $18 for an average sub with below average customer service. Simple and rustic, Jersey Mike's Subs offers a refreshing choice to compete with other sub chains in the Clifton Park area. ATMOSPHERE: Jersey Mike's has a bright, clean seating area. I did my first order online (free sub when you join the e-club), and upon arrival I saw a long line which was a good sign for a place that has been open several months. This chain smartly does their online order pickup. The counter area for that is immediately at the front just off to the right side. That way you don't have to sift through the line of people like you do at other places. Also, I noticed the efficient method by which they took orders as they had one person going down the line and writing people's orders to save time. FOOD: I ended up going with their Big Kahuna Cheesesteak sub. Despite being "regular" size, it was absolutely stuffed with hot meat, cheese, mushrooms, green peppers, onions, and a ton of jalapenos. One thing I really appreciated was the fact the bread looked and tasted fresh. You only get two choices (white or wheat) like Quiznos, but at least they do it right. Now, when I say this was a regular size sub, I'd guess it was about 10" long, so I'm really interested in knowing just how big their "giant" versions are. VALUE: This chain's prices are a tad on the higher side. A regular size sub is normally $7.95, but given how much food was in it and the quality of the ingredients I don't begrudge them too much. We've be back a couple times since then and although not as impressive as the first time, the subs were still very good. But this weekend was a real disappointment! It appears that the rolls have gotten smaller, the meat has gotten thinner and the veg is layered on with two fingers instead piled high.
