The food always tastes good that's why you guys get two stars but I was super grossed out by the lady in the drive that handed me my food. She was wearing gloves which I totally understand right now however she messed up my order, which wasn't a big deal but when she handed me my baguette it was not wrapped in a napkin. She handed me the piece of baguette with the same gloves she took my money with. I work in fast food and understand her frustration with me probably not being clear on what I wanted but sanitation should be number one right now. This is not the first time I have had an incident with this panera either. The time before, I came through drive thru the girl didn't even let me finish speaking before she gave me the total. I left the drive without my food I was so upset. With as costly as panera is, I would think you guys would be a little better with your customer service. I loooove the autumn squash soup! Perfect blend of sweet and savory, creamy consistency, and beautiful presentation!!!! I do come here every once in a while for lunch, and normally do not enjoy the lack of space both inside the restaurant and in the parking lot. In terms of menu, while not a total fan due to small sandwich sizes, there are some good choices in the salads. But today, I gave this seasonal soup a try, and it certainly exceeded my expectations. Have come here often since they opened in Manteca. So nice to have another choice for healthier eating in town. Their salads are very fresh. Love the Green Goddess Cobb Salad. I've had the soup/salad combo a couple of times. Like the soup, but not so keen on the sandwiches. They just kind of fall flat on flavor for some reason. The pastries are yummy...but both times I went with my daughter for coffee and pastries, it took them so long to bring us the lattes that our pastries were already eaten by the time the coffee came. Might be better to simply order the self-serve coffee; cheaper anyway, and you get it right away! read more

Holy crap if your Asian DO NOT come here People here treat us Asian bad. My family was traveling around San Francisco and Sacramento and driving down south. We had excellent experience in Los Angeles. But here, they treat Asian very different. As soon as I walk in, customers eating there, they stopped what they are doing and all they do is stare at us. Even workers stared at us. We started feel we are outsider and surrounded by the RACIST people. One of the guy who stared at me, I looked at him back, I asked him, "is anything wrong?" He didn't say a word. They just kept staring. I told my family to go back inside the car and I just order food Togo. I end up ordering Togo. I asked the clerk for cup of water and he gave it to me, I realized I have family who are thirsty so I asked 3 more cup and one of the female worker there refused to give. I told her that I purchased 4 orders but she reply, "it's not my problem". Luckily someone gave me 3 additional cup. While I was waiting for food, person who is preparing the food was looking at me and I look back and he looked away. It was very unpleasant environment there. I can feel the hate towards Asian. I got the food, but worried that they might of did something to our food. We end up not eating the food due to hate vibes. I don't mind people stare but all the customers and workers stared. We were eating in the car, people drive n park, they get out and look at us for a moment and walk away. We felt we are NOT welcome there at all. If your ASIAN, don't come here. read more

I'm sick of ordering the large macaroni and cheese, then getting HALF of what I ordered for $8.29. First off, this place is pricey and it takes time. But, I EXPECT to get what I pay for, no less. The past FOUR (yes, I said four) times, I let it go. This tine, I called management. She looked up the price, offered NO apology. What she DID do is offer excuses. "It must be the new packaging", was the first even though it's never changed. Then, it was the "oh well" attitude followed by a "We're given the rules, we just have to follow." So I flat out asked "So, you're okay with customers paying so much for an order and getting half? Her response: "As I said, we're just following the rules, we don't make them." By then, I was infuriated. I told her I was getting a "We're told to give HALF orders and charging so much to people, so we truly don't care attitude", and from management." I worked 25 years in customer service and what you are supposed to do in order to handle this situation is start out by being sympathetic to the people who bring in YOUR business. Apologize, try to calm the customer down, not LOSE a customer, and apologize for any inconvenience. ALL I got was attitude. These people DO NOT CARE. As much as I love their Mac 'N Cheese, it might not be worth it to pay such a pricey amount, then get a small order dumped into a large container. With as much time as you may wait at the drive-thru, you'd think they'd care more about customer service, the loyalty of customers (in order to keep them -- but NOT with that attitide), and quality. Epic fail here. This location couldn't hold a torch to other Panera locations I've been to. These people just don't care. And, it's NOT made fresh. Yes, I watched an employee MICROWAVE my order of Mac 'N Cheese, drop it on the floor, have to re-do it, then put it in a container. No wonder it took so long. The only thing they DID NOT do is try to put the order that fell on the floor in the container and hand it to me. With the attitude I just got, it would NOT surprise me! read more

Always have enjoyed the tasty salads and fresh juicy sandwiches. But wife got a large piece of bone in her chicken avocado sandwich. Manager made up for error with voucher. Service is quick and waiters friendly. Prices seem high, but worth it for tasty offerings. (W/O chic bone) But bought little round scones, not triangular ones, and some bagels for takeout. Prices are higher, and the plain bagels are sooo chewy. Even after toasting on grill with butter. My morning breakfast lasted a lot longer, may have to skip lunch. Don't know what's going on here, but seems to have lost its consistency. Last week, wife's Asian salad came with the wrong dressing, and the turkey sandwich was made with chicken. She went back today, and again the sandwich was not prepared right. In each instance, she was not charged, and received vouchers for free food. I am tempted to put these vouchers on eBay! read more

Okay let me start off by saying FOOD POISONING ALERT. So I have eaten at Panera in MANTECA, CA a few times and one time I got a bowl of soup (it was really good until I got home and started throwing up and having diarrhea like crazy). Once I started feeling that way, I looked up the reviews on Panera's soup and other food, it was DISGUSTING. People who had actually worked there before said terrible things about how the freeze the soup and reuse it over and over again. I decided to try the food one more time, but ordered a half sandwich and salad instead. IT WAS NO DIFFERENT. If I could give the place a negative star, I definitely would. read more

I wanted to like this place... I really did. I've gone to other Panera's, and my experience at the Manteca one is unlike all the other ones. Ordering: I used the tablet considering there was 1 cashier and she was pre-occupied. They very easy to use. Atmosphere: restaurant was not packed, and lots of seating available. Perhaps because it was freezing, since the AC was on full blast! Saw a couple of associates RUNNING around clearing, they looked exhausted and rushed rushed. Food: so we get the order, and out of the 4 plates, 2 were wrong. The Mac and cheese plate had dried out cheddar cheese on it, the kids turkey was a grilled cheese instead. And check this out... 2 of the forks were still dirty! I showed our server the dirty plate. She apologized and took it. I told her about receiving the grilled cheese vs. Turkey, and she took care of it by taking a replacement order. By the time she returned back... She came with a ham and cheese vs. a turkey. "Is this what you wanted.." I replied with a "that's fine". We couldn't wait until we were done eating. Got out of there quick. Turning tables is an obvious priority, associates are not all in sync. read more

I want to mention a specific person at this location her name is Selena I took my mother to Panera for the first time she had recently had foot surgery and when Selena brought us our food she brought my mom her coffee and asked what she would like in it and then went and grabbed all the items my mother requested and brought them to her so she didn't have to get up in to her wheelchair and grab them herself it was very nice of her to do that and I really appreciate her kindness to us. read more

It's a Panera. Which is to say it's consistent, tasty, and decently priced. Employees are friendly, and I never feel cheated despite having to drive out of my way to go here. I will echo other reviews and say that they always seem to mess up our orders, but they're apologetic and usually make it right. We still don't have a Panera in Tracy (we're getting one later this year), so they're still a relative treat and an escape from fast food. read more

Let me start off this review by saying that this is in no way a reflection of the Panera franchise what so ever. I often frequent the Stockton location with no issues. This one however has some improvement that needs to happen. During my last view days of work, I frequented this place 4 times on 4 separate days for lunch. In the first three, we received the food we had ordered and it ended up being great. We tried various different methods for ordering such as: phone app, in store ipads, and cashier register. The final day however, the amount of cars present in the parking lot should've clued me in as to what was about to happen. My co-worker and I go to place our order on the Ipad. After we put in the various customizations, we submitted our order and proceeded to wait for it. In the past, your name appears almost instantly on the screen. This wasn't the case today. We waited there for a little over 30-45 min before the worker noticed us. By that time, we were starting to get a little irritated that our name hadn't appeared on the screen and nothing was mentioned to us. Finally, we get noticed and asked for what we had ordered. Neither myself or my co-worker could remember since we had both made various customizations using their in store ipads. They informed us that the store iPads were down and our order was not submitted. I checked my phone app for my bank and conveniently I was charged. Irritated and fed up at this point, I just gave the order as well as I could remember it and we waited. I casually reminded the worker of the type of soup I wanted as well as the few customizations I made on my sandwich. Finally an additional 20 minutes later, we were on our way. We finally got back to our job site and were ready to dig in. They ended up forgetting the various condiments I asked for and gave me the wrong soup. Multiple times I reminded them while I was in the store. I think i'll give this place a while before I head back. Good food and more then often I had a great experience here. I just think it needs some room to grow. read more

Yayyyyyy!!!! I can't tell you how happy I am that Panera Bread has finally come to Manteca!! I love everything on their menu!! Can't miss Tuesday's special on bagels $6.99 for a bakers dozen. The soups and salads are so good, love cream of broccoli the best!! My kids love their Mac n cheese bread bowls. This is the first time I've been to Panera Bread & I was very disappointed. I ordered a panini in the drive thru & first off, the girl was rude & rushed my order. When I got to the window, the girl made it apparent that she really hated her job, something I as the customer should never know. When I got the food home that I ordered, the sandwich was smashed & cold and the inside didn't look like a sun dried tomato sauce but more like cat food. No way was I paying $12 for this meal, so I took it back. To add insult to injury, upon asking the MOD for a full refund & showing him the dispicable food they served, he had the nerve to give me attitude like I should just accept mediocracy & be happy with it! Not a fan. Had a couple experiences here 1 being 2 pieces of chicken strips in my sandwich. Wasn't going to complain because they are new and probably still getting things settled. However, when I went thru the drive thru and made sure he knew I was allergic to hazelnut and wanted dark roast coffee... he gave me hazelnut. I have gone to this Panera, and likely all other Panera locations, for the last time. Cashier had attitude and the muffins we bought were hard and dry. We sat and actually talked about how many days old we thought they were. Not finished but ended up in the trash. Poor service, poor food = No need to darken their doorway. To boot, I get a chance at taking a survey related to our "experience" and I thought "what a great idea!" Funny thing about that survey... My daughter is a huge fan of Panera and she is here from Wa. So she usually does the ordering and almost every time we get the food which is from the drive thru it's wrong and there are never any utensils in the bag... today they were out of rolls so ok I'll take an extra sour dough well no extra for me..... got soup and Mac n cheese got a knife and extra butter to go with the bread I didn't get and the girl at the window was as friendly as a shark and had an attitude for who know's why and it's so sad that customer service isn t customer service like a few year's ago and they want more money lol !!!
