Called the cafe to tell the employees that the lettuce they were serving was not good to go and the worker said "okay". This place puts all chairs up on tables and flips the tables in the booths upside down every night starting 2-3 hours before closing time. So that when customers arrive and can't find an available seat/ booth, if the customer doesn't t just leave immediately, an employee will need to approach the customer and let him/her know that he/she can open up a table. But generally, it results in an experience where one feels rushed to eat and leave, even though the place will be open for a couple more hours. Also, I've driven by and seen the chairs up through the windows and thought the place was already closed. How many others do this? How much income is lost? Doesn't make sense. read more

I am not sure if this is an issue with Panera in general, or just this location. But this is the third time I've been to this location and it feels like they continue to cut corners. One of the perks of eating at the restaurant (versus getting the food to go) is having real plates and silverware. My soup was in a paper cup and my salad was in a plastic container, all placed on top of a plastic plate. The salad wasn't even tossed - it had a separate containers of dressing on the side. Silverware was the plastic kind in individual plastic sleeves. Not to mention, the paper soup cup seems to be about half the size of their ceramic bowls, even for a cup. This felt like expensive cafeteria food. Disappointed in the overall experience and product. read more

I don't understand why they keep most of their bread products out in the open, given there are flies walking on them. Blechhh. We ordered sandwiches and smoothies, made in the back, and they were made quickly by friendly people, and they were big and tasted just fine. The chowder was terrific as well. Mashpee now has the Panera Bread chain restaurant in our town. I like the Panera Bread food! They have good reasonable prices and friendly enough people. However they must all go to the same training class where they are taught to be slow! One day I was there and 15 people where inline to place orders and only 2 people at the cash registers! I Took one look at that walk out the door! This hasn't happened just once , this happened multiple times at this location. Best time to go to this location I believe it's between 8 and 10 a.m. and between 2 and 4 p.m. lines seem much shorter. Another interesting situation is the seating is to little and all bunched together so if you wanna have a private conversation do it somewhere else. They do have nice outdoor seating but who wants to do that in the cold, but will be really nice this summer. Again really enjoy the food but the service is something to be desired! This franchise is conveniently located in the Mashpee Commons but like one other Yelpee said the layout is certainly not one you would find in a typical Panera Bread. There are two entrances one located in near the ordering area and a second location on the backside of the restaurant which makes you have to go through eating patrons just to get to the ordering area. The food was ok as the soup was warm and not hot. The sandwich was well made and tasted good. I had the turkey and avocado BLT with the wild rice soup. The staff was friendly and I didn't stand by the ready line so I didn't get a look at how the staff interacts and works together from a a cohesive standpoint. During a steady day they can typically have your order ready by the time you find a place to sit down (approx 1-2 minutes). On a busy day this place is packed and it could be a few minutes before you see your food but that should be expected with them making everything to order. Overall this franchise is good but I would not put them in the great category quite yet. A little improvement on the temperature of their food would get them at least the 4 stars. read more

I door dashed chicken noodle soup for a sick child from this location. When it arrived it was my name on the slip with chicken noodle soup as the item...but it cream of broccoli soup in the bag. When I called the restaurant and nicely explained the situation they asked me to hold for the manager, I waited on hold for 15 minutes and was hung up on. Each time I tried to call back after that they wouldn't answer. And now that there is a mobile order service? Sold... then again, maybe not... Some of the staff are extremely nice. Others look rather sullen. This review is long overdue and strictly about the food. Every mobile order - and I do mean EVERY. SINGLE. ONE - has been incorrect. I work in the Commons and it's simply easier to walk over and grab lunch when in a hurry. But I just laugh at this point, walk back, and have them correct my order. Since most people really can't do this, the one-star rating is generous. Previous multiple experiences: 1. Wrong salad dressing - too many times to count 2. Missing Chicken from Asian Sesame CHICKEN Salad 3. Actual broth missing from a BROTH bowl (this one was gross.) 4. Cilantro missing from Salad (too many times to count) 5. Onions added to a sandwich after a no-onion request 6. Cheese missing from French Onion Soup 7. Consistently wrong side-items 8. Missing Bread Bowl for soup bread bowls 9. Missing vegetables from a veggie sandwich I actually haven't placed one order in the last several weeks that has not had something wrong with it. The cooks are never surprised when I appear at the counter, but always apologetic. I love Panera but I find the location does not operate like other Panera restaurants that I go to when I travel around the Northeast. I had a very negative experience at this location a few weeks ago see the attached pictures. Where they were preparing the food was clearly not clean and the "cook" kept wiping her gloved hand across her for head and then making food. Oh Panera, how far you have fallen. What was once my favorite "go to" for a quick and delicious bite to eat has quickly become my "one to avoid". Poor service and food quality. I ordered a steak sandwich that was skimpy on portion and unevenly cooked throughout. Pink and grey splotches of meat on a roll cooked panini style. Yuk! As someone who is a huge fan of Panera Bread anyways, I was highly anticipating the arrival of the new Panera in Mashpee. In the first opening week alone, I was there three times. The food quality was great, all my favorites and I even got brave and tried some new items off the menu! The layout of the place is a little strange. It's definitely on the smaller side, but they utilized all the space possible for seating. I don't care for the glass room they have in this Panera, so I prefer to sit elsewhere. That is my only compliant. What makes this Panera so outstanding, is the service. The staff and managers go above and beyond. Managers come around and ask if they can do anything, staff actually takes your trash for you. Once, they accidentally messed up my order and they not only gave me my correct order, but put my wrong order in a box for me to take home as well. I'm a little biased because I love Panera Bread so much anyways, but the service in the Mashpee Panera absolutely excels over any Panera I've been to so far! (And I have been to every single one in the Boston, Cape Cod area!) read more
