Even something as simple as the ham soup (soup of the day) was nuanced, Smokey, layers of herbs, and rich while still feeling just a little light. Thai Buddha was the best of our orders. I was surprised how well the coconut and peanut flavors melded. Caesar salad was a wonderful twist on a classic, with herb du provence dressing. My burrito was fantastic, but something you could theoretically find elsewhere. Other items are truly unique, so if this is your one chance to order from here, go for the unique. Recently moved to the area full-time so I was looking to add to my list of regular go-to's for local restaurants and came across Le Bon Jour in some online article that featured the owners' story (I forget where I saw the article), which piqued my interest. Fast forward to last week when my boyfriend and I were looking for a spot to grab a quick lunch during the work day where we could get fresh and healthy options that weren't our same1-2 places we have visited during our summers here. Le Bon Jour is not too far from where I live so we hopped in for lunch after perusing their menu online. Upon entry, the interior of the restaurant could use some improving to make it more appealing for dining in, but the menu options were solid and pricing reasonable. My bf opted for the Mediterranean (falafel with veggie) Bowl while I went for the Indian Bowl (with chicken). Both were made fresh and were decent sized portions and smelled / tasted delicious. We tasted both and agreed that the flavors were each unique and we both wanted more sauces because they were so good! My bf finished his bowl and I took some of mine home as leftovers (that's when I really could have used more sauce). One thing I was not a fan of was that the bathrooms were pretty gross. I've worked in restaurants / hospitality and always equate cleanliness of bathrooms = cleanliness of kitchen so I hope in this case, the kitchen was nothing like the bathrooms as they were very dirty and the sink had visible remnants of food dumped into the sink and caught in the drain. That aside, overall Le Bon Jour is a solid option for a freshly made cooked to order lunch in the East Falmouth area. We will be back! read more

We finally stopped by after reading all the great reviews and they weren't wrong! We had a Thai bowl with flounder, a Mexican bowl, and a cup of the soup de jour (sweet potato and leek) Everything tasted so fresh and delicious - the soup was amazing! Even my son's plain cheese quesadilla was way above the norm. The staff was incredibly helpful and accommodating. We will definitely make this a regular spot! read more

The food here is absolutely terrific, fresh, flavorful, and delicious, from the quesadillas to the salads to the bowls.

So the usual rule is that the less a restaurant is trying to do, the better it will be at it. Le Bon Jour is the exception. They do a lot of different things and they're good at all of them. Their bowls are complete meals with multiple elements brought together with intention. Even their gumbo is pretty good - for $6? What? They even have hidden things in the menu like Crispy Flounder that're really good. You don't make a restaurant like this unless you love food and you love people. It shows. We're lucky this is here. Food is good but the chef is super rude and belittles customers. Refused to add carrots to a salad and refused to give me a side of carrots, even though I said I would pay extra for it, and they have it on the menu just in a different salad. When I asked the girl at the register about getting a different side of dressing, he interjected in our conversation talked to me like I was an idiot. There shouldn't be an open kitchen since he goes out of his way to talk down to customers and making food is literally his job. This is my second time there and he has done it both times. Le Bon Jour has an abundance of flavorful, filling foods, with lunches costing about $15. The Thai Buddha bowl blends savory red curry with pineapples&potatoes, with a choice of quinoa or rice. The customizable street tacos are excellent- one can get them mild, medium or spicy. I went for spicy with crispy flounder (the bottle of Tapatio went untouched) The Le Puy lentil salad elevates underrated veggies like Brussels sprouts and beets, with apples, a tahini dressing, and avocados. On a hot humid summer day, their tropical, berry, and kale smoothies are excellently refreshing. Le Bon Jour's Senegalese owners call back to their roots with a hearty gumbo soup, the Le Puy lentil salad, and croque monsieur mac&cheese. Le Bon Jour is a good day indeed! This place is so good it makes me want to go back to all my other reviews to take one star off because they're not as good as this place. Here are some of our reactions while basically having culinary orgasms: "How is this so good?" At the same exact moment. "Omg, did we die?" Boyfriend looks at clock to make sure we weren't in a death dream. The bill was $70 with a steak quesadilla, fish quesadilla, le puy salad and the Mediterranean bowl with lamb added. The price doesn't even matter but I put it here in case people are money conscious. Healthy, fresh ingredients and good sized portions. I'm pretty sure we started to tear up. We ate our salads and bowls first. The lamb in the bowl was perfectly seasoned and melted in my mouth. The hummus was housemade with that smooth creamy texture that store bought just doesn't do. The le puy, I took one bite and realized every take out decision that's been made since we moved here in March was all in vain and we should flog ourselves for not finding this place sooner. My prescription pharmaceuticals could never bring me as much joy as my first bite into this "salad" it's so "meaty" and delicious you forget it's vegetarian. The lentils, beets, apples and avocado add a delicious weight to a still very light dish. The quesadillas almost shot us into the outer atmosphere. We finished 75% of our salads/bowls but we're determined to take at least one bite of our quesadillas. Mind you, there are probably 12" tortillas folded in half with up to six extra ingredients on top of a pick your protein. As my boyfriend bit into it he also lamented finding this place so late into our move. Nothing else matters, only Le Bon Jour. Best. Quesadillas. Ever. EVER. The cheese was chewy, salty with a yeasty flavor to it. Got halfway through the first half and had to stop myself, lest I have to roll myself around the house for the rest of the night. Yet, as I write this a mere 15 minutes from my meal, I feel satisfied but not weighted down. Other pluses include: the use of (mostly) recyclable take out products. The owners as Senegalese, if you're looking to support a black owned business. The menu options vary from Latin to Mediterranean to Asian. All options are hearty and filling. Probably going to try the Cesar salad next time because I love Cesar salads and they throw in chick peas and asparagus. read more
