    Indian Bowl with Chicken
    Maranda M.

Recently moved to the area full-time so I was looking to add to my list of regular go-to's for local restaurants and came across Le Bon Jour in some online article that featured the owners' story (I forget where I saw the article), which piqued my interest. Fast forward to last week when my boyfriend and I were looking for a spot to grab a quick lunch during the work day where we could get fresh and healthy options that weren't our same1-2 places we have visited during our summers here. Le Bon Jour is not too far from where I live so we hopped in for lunch after perusing their menu online. Upon entry, the interior of the restaurant could use some improving to make it more appealing for dining in, but the menu options were solid and pricing reasonable. My bf opted for the Mediterranean (falafel with veggie) Bowl while I went for the Indian Bowl (with chicken). Both were made fresh and were decent sized portions and smelled / tasted delicious. We tasted both and agreed that the flavors were each unique and we both wanted more sauces because they were so good! My bf finished his bowl and I took some of mine home as leftovers (that's when I really could have used more sauce). One thing I was not a fan of was that the bathrooms were pretty gross. I've worked in restaurants / hospitality and always equate cleanliness of bathrooms = cleanliness of kitchen so I hope in this case, the kitchen was nothing like the bathrooms as they were very dirty and the sink had visible remnants of food dumped into the sink and caught in the drain. That aside, overall Le Bon Jour is a solid option for a freshly made cooked to order lunch in the East Falmouth area. We will be back!

    very clean !!

My new favorite go to place. I have been searching for a place with great Mediterranean fare and bowls and am thrilled to have found one. I had the Mexican bowls with chicken today and will try the Mediterranean next weekend!! Everything is fresh and delicious.

Good, fresh, creative food menu at a fair price. Nice variety of different ethnic options with a West African flare.

Very pleasant staff & really good bowls. Great change of pace from fried seafood fare everywhere on the Cape.

It's the most random place but the food is so good! (At least everything I've tried). Has tables but definitely more of a take away spot.

The energy is upbeat without being chaotic, and it feels like a place where people are actually enjoying themselves. The food is good and tastes authentically Mexican, which makes sense considering much of the staff is as authentic as it gets. That always matters. Portions are generous, which helps balance out some of the pricing and keeps you from leaving hungry or annoyed. If I had one knock, it would be that prices are a bit higher than they used to be, but honestly that is everywhere and everyone is just trying to survive. Service was fast and efficient without feeling rushed. You can see why this place is a local staple and also a magnet for tourists. It knows exactly what it is and leans into it. And the drinks deserve a special mention. They are stiff in the best way and absolutely appreciated. Overall a solid choice when you want good food, strong drinks, and a night that feels like a small vacation.

The dining area and bar area need to be separated in some way as we were seated right around the wall next to the bar which was too loud for my dining preference This was not my 1st visit to the area but definitely my last visit to this establishment.

We got both fresh offerings of oysters to start.- so good. For beverages, I had a Maine IPA & Kate had a pear pressure. We really enjoyed them both. Kate got the Seafood Pot Pie. The good news is we try each others meals. An absolute home run! The scrod, lobster, scallops and shrimp were perfect. Add in Newburg sauce asparagus and spinach, top it with a puff pastry to soak up the sauce-10 out of 10. There is a reason it's a house favorite. I had the baked seafood trio. Shrimp, scrod and scallops, with baked potato and asparagus. 2 u-15 shrimp, 3oz of fresh Chatham scrod and 3 local scallops, done in a lemon beurre blac. A small portion of each but delicious. The baked potato was just like you would hope. Asparagus was underdone, by our tastes, but not knocking the rating over that. Overall 8/10. Will try the blackened mahi mahi next visit. Kate's not budging from the seafood pot pie Our server Taryn was nice and busy. They have runners who are all over the place. Owner? out picking up plates and checking every time to make sure we were happy. Nearly half of my life was spent in the front of the house-that's how I treated every person I encountered in my establishments. This place was crazy busy. Every server, food runner, host etc had a genuine smile. Customers were happy, among them, many locals. Our take; if you are here for a few days or a while, make it a point to enjoy a meal here. Pretty confident you'll be happy you did.

In my experience one can tell a lot from a restaurant's name. With cliche names like "Quarterdeck," "Fisherman's Catch," etc. it's almost guaranteed to be average at best. I don't know why but it's usually true. I got a clam roll which turned out to be a mistake. I got it because I wanted a smaller portion than the platter. But the clams were oversized for a roll and too few in number so it was hard to eat. Good for a platter but for a roll, smaller clams and more of them would be better. But the clams though were fresh, cooked correctly, and the batter was decent, not outstanding. The roll was toasted and buttered, and a small lettuce leaf completed the sandwich. My biggest complaint was the tartar sauce, homemade, which was a disaster. Tasted of little more than plain mayonnaise. Unfortunately the fries were almost room temperature. I wasn't going to say anything but when the waitress came by and asked I told her. She apologized, took them away, and returned with a new platter of fries, a very large portion, and scaldingly hot. I was no longer so hungry but ate a good fraction of them, as leaving them after she brought a replacement just seemed rude. They weren't very good though; greasy and the oil didn't taste fresh. To drink I had a "mocktail" version of a Moscow Mule. It was way too sweet. Without the bite of alcohol it needed something else to tone down the sweetness. It wasn't cheap either. I should have just had a plain ginger ale. I would recommend trying someplace else instead. Lots of choices in the area.
