Stopped here for a quick salad and a drink. There is ample parking and the restaurant is large, bright and spacious. Despite the size, and that it was quiet inside, pretty much every single table was dirty and needed to be wiped down. In comparison, the bathrooms were clean. The young woman at the register helping with our order was exceptionally sweet but it was hard to understand what she was trying to explain to me regarding my order and price. Despite this, the salad came out correct and was very fresh and perhaps better than other Paneras I've been to. Of note, there was another patron, walking around, who seemed to have some mental health issues and was approaching other people eating. Including myself. The staff could see this but didn't take action. With all this going on, unfortunately, this Panera's star count for me is down by one. The food is a four. I visited the Panera on Carlisle Pike ( Mechanicsburg) on Saturday he morning of 6/18/26 While the workers were very friendly, only after I was waiting for my order did I learn that they had run out of the breakfast item that I ordered and it would be another 15 minutes (for FAST FOOD?).....I was refunded for that portion of the order They verified the rest of my order was ready and handed me my bag Once I got to my work, I opened the bag only to see that they gave me the wrong order!!!! I go to a lot of different Paneras and this one is rather new on the Pike in Mechanicsburg. The ambience was off, the bathrooms were clean, service was really slow. I seen they were hiring for a lot of positions but non of the tables were cleaned when people left. The food was alright, the greens that were supposed to be in my salad weren't. It was mostly romaine, when it's supposed to be mixed greens. And my arugula was kinda yellow I added to my chicken salad. It still tasted good but I wouldn't go to this Panera again. read more

Today my husband and I had lunch at Panera on the Carlisle Pike. It was very disappointing. First of all when I went to order my usual sandwich at the Kiosk it told me that they had run out of avocado! That is what makes the BLT so delicious. To add insult to injury my sandwich was slapped together with two slices of bread that did not line up at all and that made it very messy to eat. As we were using the kiosk I suddenly remembered why we usually just go to the counter to order. The kiosk isn't very user friendly. Also, the restaurant floor was VERY sticky the whole way through the store. Last time we visited it was also sticky, but this time it was much worse. Whoever is cleaning that floor is doing a poor job. I'm very surprised that management has not noticed. We've patronized this particular Panera monthly for about a year now and hope our future visits aren't such a great disappointment. read more

Made a visit today to get a muffin for my Loving Sweetheart. Was greeted with a smile from a young lady and requested my desire. I got a cup of coffee and my Sweetheart got an Iced Tea and cinnamon roll... There was a large selection of pastries, but the cinnamon rolls caught her eye... The cafe is clean and was being wiped down again by a staff member... The tables were also neat and clean... There are a lot of windows so we could view outside as we enjoyed our meal... Also ample parking is available... We will have no problem visiting this Panera again in the future... Want a decent pastry and a good cup of coffee... Stopped in for quick dinner as Paneras are usually a known quantity - tonight being no exception. Went the standard U-pick-2® route - either the portions have gotten smaller or I was REALLY hungry....ended up scarfing down my asiago bagel which I had ordered 'to go' :) Food was above average for sure - wait time wasn't bad. Fairly busy (was around 8pm) I was REALLY looking for their limited-time lobster roll which I heard was back at some locations...maybe I'll find one yet! This Panera Bread used to be in Silver Creek Square, opposite to Wegmans, but has since moved to a brand new building opposite REI. Not only has it added the drive-thru, the layout is drastically different from what most Panera Bread is known for. I'm not sure I like the new one. It's open partition so it's lost the cozy personal touch it used to have. A drive-thru for Panera is also questionable. It makes sense if it's used to pickup mobile or online orders, but if someone ahead ordered cook to order, then the wait will be too long for the people behind. This Panera has the worst delivery drivers/service I have ever experienced. I've ordered from them several times and every time my order has been missing something. Either the people bagging delivery are largely incompetent or their delivery drivers/service steal; it's one or the other, after all, their orders come through a computer system. This location has good food. The service needs work. I came in to get a beverage and as a first time Rewards member, asked about my beverage having milk and sugar. I read from my slip milk and 2 sugars. I was on the road and needed a quick wakeup. Manager and a male employee kept talking, and manager was doing the talking. I excused myself twice to speak to them. (Perhaps I was wearing my invisibility cloak). The manager pointed to the counter where there was a pitcher of creamer. I again said I had asked for milk. The manager looked dumbfounded while pointing at the pitcher. I said no, milk. A woman employee helped while the two men continued their conversation. Awkward! They seemed like I was a bother. Parr 2: I returned and did a curbside order for the tuna sandwich and vegetable soup duo. Specified no onions on sandwich. It came loaded with onions. Got the chicken noodle soup, ended up with food poisoning. Would NOT recommend. For context, my girlfriend and I decided Panera might be a nice meal after a long day, so I got the broccoli cheddar soup, and she got the chicken noodle. After eating the soup, the rest of the night consisted of trips to the restroom until every last bit of food came up, dizziness, and a sore throat from all of the throwing up. Took a half hour to get a bagel and coffee. I'm not sure if it was an ordering system issue or some sort of coordination challenge because there were several people clearly working hard in the kitchen area. Shouldn't take this long. Also, the bagels are much smaller than they used to be and their coffee cups are incredibly flimsy. This is supposed to have romaine lettuce as the only lettuce. That's what I expect. It's been the same way for years. Now all the sudden, they throw spring mix in there with no romaine. I deserve to be notified if they are out of ingredients and substituting things! I should be asked if that's okay with me! I hate spring mix! So, it's Panera. Personally, I find it overpriced for the servings you get, but it is a good spot (in non-COVID times) to work or meet up with a friend for coffee. We had gift cards on hand, so decided to treat ourselves to Panera delivery for lunch. The ordering and delivery was seamless. They are currently (as of 1/8/21) doing contactless delivery. I asked for my order to arrive between 12-12:15 and it was here at just about 11:50, which is great! The food was fine. Like I said, I don't personally find it anything to write home about, but it is a somewhat healthy fast casual option. Our order had a few customizations and they got all of them right - woo! I don't think they included cutlery in our bag, but we were going to use our home silverware anyways, but something to keep in mind if you aren't eating in a place with silverware on hand! Checked in 3 times recently, different days. Love the store, the customer service, the food, the products. There is nothing to not like. Very good bakery. All breads are freshly baked. Though the bagels could be smaller in size. They are so big so as to be unappetizing in looks. I like the fact that they use antibiotic free chicken. The service at this particular Panera Bread was anything but friendly. I was actually startled at how passive aggressive the cashier was during our visit. For the greater Panera chain, I appreciate the free WiFi and opportunities for Breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Refillable coffee and the rewards program is also a perk. I would really like to see more vegan friendly options like something dairy-free to spread on bagels and dairy free creamer at the coffee station. Some of the bagels are completely plant based and you can manipulate a few menu items to make them vegan. read more

Best Panera Bread that I have ever been to. Maybe it is just all the Panera's in Massachusetts but the service in all of them is just awful. So I did go in with low expectations. The man behind the counter was very nice and gladly put an my order for a special panini through without a problem. I always have huge problems with getting them to do special paninis in Massachusetts. They made my order promptly and when they gave it to me I realized that I forgot to ask for it to go. Expected eye rolls and rudeness I got the opposite. Maybe people really are just nicer in Pennsylvania. Got the food back to my hotel room and the sandwich I had was awesome. Our office just tried to place an order for a birthday lunch -- about $300, 13 sandwiches plus some sides. The staff at the store made it clear they did not want to be bothered with a big order. I've never had a bad experience with Panera until I went to this location. I ordered a chicken Caesar salad and I got it and it didn't have any Romaine lettuce. So I brought it back and said "hey sorry to bother you, but my chicken Caesar salad doesn't have any romaine lettuce on it". The manager said "yes it does, I can see it right there!" Lol what? I should have just walked out right then. But I was like "uhh this is awkward but that's not romaine". So then he started explaining all the lettuces they offer. And I was like "ok that's cool but can you just put romaine lettuce on my salad". So then he gets a scoop of romaine and puts it on the salad and I was happy and said "sorry for the trouble, thank you so much". I went to sit down and then I overheard them complaining loudly about my request as if I'm a horrible person. I've never been so embarrassed in my life. (In Camp Hill they do..) What if something's messed up? You can't really prove it cause you have no receipt. Their chicken Fontega Sandwich is absolute BOMB even though it is overpriced at almost $9 for the full and almost $6 for half. The Tortellini are A L W A Y S cold. Their coffees aren't that great (the ones from the menu not on tap), tried the hot mocha and it tasted like warm chocolate milk, got their Madagascar vanilla latte and it wasn't that good either. This Mechanicsburg, PA Panera Bread is a wonderful place to eat, snack, relax, or celebrate. Their food and service is topnotch. The employees work very hard at Panera to serve good freshly made food, with a clean establishment, and present themselves with good people skills and kindness. I have seen and heard them respond in an appropriate manner and bend over backward to accommodate the customer, even when treated rudely. There is never a reason to treat a restaurant establishment/employees/manager in a nasty manner. ~They are people with families and feelings just like you, working very hard to make a living and serve you, so you don't have to cook your meal. I enjoy coffee, bagels, salads, soup, panini's, breads of all kinds & more. My family, friends, and I like early & late breakfasts, lunches, dinner, and later evenings over coffee by the fire, or outside on the patio in the summer months. They have assorted table types(square, booths, round, long, or intimate for 2) along with self-serve coffee & cold drink refill stations.
