While I really enjoy the Panera brand, the management of the Moreno Valley location has plenty of room for improvement. I frequent this location often and it hardly fails that their coffee pots or hot water are empty. It is often that as I sit and eat I'm hearing someone being told that the store is out of "that" product. There appears to be no system to make sure items are stocked appropriately and no one monitors the levels in their coffee/hot water pots. I remember a time that a young gentleman was managing this store and also remember that this store was proud of awards. I have not seen him in a while and it is apparent he is no longer managing or running this store. If you have time to waste waiting or appreciate being told that what you want or need is not available then this is the store for you. read more

I love coming to panera because it's so friendly and I love their food. But today the person they put as cashier was so rude. I rarely write on yelp but I felt so annoyed but CHER'S customer service that I felt the need to write this post. First of all me and my bf and I come in 30 min before closing to get food and dine in. It's 30 min before close and people were still inside. I didn't have a complicate order. I just wanted food. Going off my Mint account I have been to this location 27 times since Apr 2012. This is the only Panera Bread I've ever been to so I'm not sure how this chain is as a whole but here are my final impressions. TL;DR: Waste of money. Quality of food is on the low end. Staff is mostly incompetent (there are a handful of great ones), but ultimately it's the fault of management. A lot is due to being understaffed. Pros: - Portion size is good. - After order is place, meals come out in 5-10 minutes. - Friendly staff, but ultimately incompetent (see below). Cons: - Understaffed; messy (plates left at tables, food on floor) and the line is often very long with registers not being used. - Overall incompetence from the kitchen. I make very simple requests (no dressing on salads, etc.) and the salads will most of the time still have dressing. Sometimes it's not even the correct dressing for the salad. - Quality of food ranges from 7/10 to 4/10. Sandwiches are often soggy. Salads are often lacking color in the greens with tough tomatoes. - It's not uncommon that I see homeless people walk in with a plastic grocery bag full of empty XL-sized McDonald's cups, fill them up with drinks, then walk right on out through the back door. - Coffee machines are typically empty. Still stays this way after bringing it to the staff's attention. Final Thoughts: This last visit was the final straw and I will not be going to Panera - at least this particular one - ever again. To be fair it's not always a bad experience, but 2/3 of the time it is. Wasted $20 on a meal that came out completely wrong. Bagel Tuesday! This cafe doesn't know how to make a bagel. I know that the fresh dough facility produces a decent bagel for this cafe yet the cafe doesn't seem to know how to shape proof or bake a bagel. Placed an online order the other day. Walked in, and I was not really sure where to go, considering I had already paid online, and there was no marker to tell me where I could pick up my meal. Furthermore, after awkwardly standing around, I found an employee, who showed me to my meal. He then explained that they didn't have the bread that came with my meal, and instead handed me a cold roll. Whatever, I thought to myself, as I happily took home my onion soup and steak panini. Both were awful. The soup tasted like bitter soy sauce with chicken stock, and the sandwich had way too much horse radish sauce. TLDR; never going back. Food was gross. I had the chicken kale bread with onion soup & iced tea. The food was good but taste bland. I had to put a lot of mustard on the chicken sandwich because there was just a plain tasting bread with a plain tasting chicken with a little bell pepper sauté. Came in for dinner and ordered one of their Broths. As we were walking away, someone stopped us & apologized, but they were out of it. I chose something slightly cheaper, but he then gave me a choice on pastries, to make up for the inconvenience, as well as the price difference. When we got our food, my girlfriend was uneasy about how pink the steak was, in her sandwich. The GM, just happened to be the one that brought my food & we asked to get the steak well-done. He explained the cooking process & described how they would be unable to accommodate that. He offered several times, to bring us anything else from the menu. My gf declined & said its ok, but he said to go ahead and try the sandwich if she wanted & he'd surprise us with something else. He brought a whole new sandwich and said to try it. We were disappointed with the issues, but they are getting 5 stars, because its the amount of sincerity & accommodating service, that made us feel so well taken care of. Giving this place a 2 star rating, not because of the food. The food is always good, but the rapid pick up is always 10-15 minutes later than it's supposed to be, especially with the morning crew. I've never had such a bad experience at Panera before. It started off with a cashier calling us up to take out order and when we arrived to the register the manager was arguing with the cashier to go stock while we were waiting. The cashier was so lost, took about 10 minutes to get our order complete. I got a chocolate milk for my daughter and after the order was complete she decided to say I need to go see if the chocolate milk is available so she disappeared for another 5 minutes. She returned with a case of chocolate milks and another worker was telling her that she has to open the case a certain way. There goes another 5 minutes wasted. I was already frustrated by this point so I paid and we went to sit down. The food arrives and the bottom half of my sons sandwich is burned, like charred. I'll attach a picture of what they thought was acceptable to send out. I went back to the front and asked to talk to the manager who offered nothing but to remake the sandwich. My son was hungry so I said to just remake it and that was it. She went on to explain that when you cook a croissant that it has to be removed right away or this happens. I told her she shouldn't be explaining this to me she should be telling her kitchen staff. All in all I was extremely disappointed in the bad service I received here. Worst place ever with time and not having everything ready at 8:45 am! I put an order for 1 bagel and after 10 min I still didn't have my 1 bagel! So I told the lady just cancel because I have to go to work, I paid for the bagel and never went back! The staff at this location is wonderful! They are attentive and super friendly. When we walk in we are always greeted with a warm welcome. I'm not commenting too much on the food since its a chain. I LOVE Panera it's my go to "treat your self" place. Ordered curbside with my usual order for lunch (35 min before my lunch and never had a problem before) this time I waited 5min after my pickup time and nothing. Then 10 and nothing so I go find a place to catch a quick meal before my lunch ends and as I'm doing that I call to ask for a refund, they say I can get one any time/day just to come into the store. And I asked her if she was sure bcuz I work customer service so I know there's special requirements. And she reassured me it was ok. I come in the next day and I'm told by the manager named Patty that I can't get a refund only credit so I say that's fine but I'm trying to just let her know how much I paid and what I ordered so that they can cover everything I paid for but she was being short with me and talked to me like she was annoyed and wanted to be done with the situation already all she did was write my name and order on a card and said she would post it so they knew I would be coming in. I disregarded her tone because it was busy so I figured she was stressed. I come in three days later to redeem my credit and I talk to Shardanay also a manager and explained the situation and that a manager made a note of it and she said with an attitude "ok well nobody mentioned anything, but ok what's you're order." So she made me feel like I was making it up and luckily I took a pic of the notes and said "ok well this is the note" so she would believe what I was saying. And took it down in a hurry and said they'll call your name when it's ready. I receive my order and it was all messy with soup on the sandwich box and around the soup cup. Something that I also hadn't experienced because they had always been really clean and quick. I know that mistakes happen and I'm not upset about that I'm just very upset at the customer service that was provided. It's very disappointing to be a regular or just a customer at that and then receive this kind of treatment after they've taken your money and didn't fulfill on their end. I am a big fan of the food at Panera. I wish that eating here was a better experience. The problem is the wait. It isn't unusual to wait 15-20 minutes for a bagel and a coffee. They have a rapid pick-up system that lets you order online so you don't have to wait, in theory. More times than not, there is a problem -- usually it isn't done by the promised time. This means you wait anyway. I think the workers are conscientious but there is something about the system that seems to fail it's customers. On more than one occasion, I've seen customers openly complain in line about the wait. To see competition in action, there is a Starbucks the next building over. People around here have figured out that they are better off getting their breakfast over there. They get way more business and they've their orders to their customers very quickly and accurately. Go here when you aren't in a hurry -- maybe lunch. Go to Starbucks in the morning. read more

This is not a great Panera. I go to Panera frequently, and this one really doesn't measure up. The roast beef sandwhich was skimpy, soggy, with wilted greens and everything haphazardly stacked. The sonoma chicken stew was very watered down and gross (usually its my favorite). I went at a time which was not busy, but they still took a long time with my order. The only good thing about the restaurant was its cleanliness. I'd recommend going to a different Panera Bread. read more

As I've said before in other reviews..... we LOVE to eat at Panera! I was disappointed on our visit to this location today because they were out of a lot of items! Including some bread! I ordered the Pick Two that I always order, and my soup came out COLD. I asked if my soup could be heated up please and they directed me to a microwave that they had out in the seating area! I was shocked! The employee said that they had to give me room temperature soup because it was required to serve it at that temperature. I told them that this was the VERY first Panera that has EVER given me room temperature soup. The brownies we got from here tonight were very hard and dry as well. Needless to say, we will not be visiting this location again. :( read more

I love Panera Bread. I love the pesto sachettini with extra asiago parmesan and smoked pulled chicken, and a french baguette. I'm very picky about chicken, and I think their chicken is amazing! It's hard to find a good pesto dish, especially in Moreno Valley, and I LOVE their pesto sachettini. You can sign up for the rewards program and earn different free treats. Their rapid pick-up is always on time as well. I'll choose a specific time and it's always there. You can just pick it up at their rapid pick up section. The only thing that is weird is that what if someone came in and just picked up someone's order? Who regulates what is being picked up correctly?? The only downside to Panera Bread in general is their high prices for small portions. I've gotten a half plate of the pesto and it was ridiculously small, even for me (and I cannot eat that much at one time). The small plates are approximately $5. read more

I love Panera but I won't be returning to this location. I've tried it twice and the 1st time I ordered soup and it came with a dirty spoon, a napkin that looked like someone else had already used, and a pice of plastic bag inside of the soup. So I lost my appetite and instead of demanding a refund, I ate my baguette and left. Today I thought I'd give them another chance. Today I had a hair in my soup... towards the bottom of the bowl so I'd already eaten most of it. I won't be returning because they're clearly not concerned with cleanliness at this location. read more
