Whoa! I honestly can't believe anyone would let this seemingly recently updated store get disgusting. The bathroom, the floors, the staff, the kiosks, the experience.... just not good. The staff was dropping F bombs that could be heard out in the restaurant. Good thing there weren't any children in the lobby. The kiosks timed out while helping my older Aunt with her order so everything had to be done more than once. Not to mention the kiosks were showing they were out of Green Goddess salad dressing, chips, and a certain kind of bread for a particular sandwich. It just seemed like when we made alternate choices to satisfy the kiosk it didn't matter because in fact they did have chips, Green Goddess salad dressing and who knows if that bread was in fact in stock! The kiosk doesn't accept cash, which is enough to never return to any location. Cash is legal tender in case you forgot and not made easy to use because there isn't really staff at the register. The bathroom was so gross, the floors, & honestly it made me wonder how dirty the kitchen was. The trouble is, we went out as a family with my sick Aunt who had wanted Panera and who doesn't get out much because of her illness. Made mistake of dripping by without ordering first. They had not updated their soups so what I wanted wasn't available. Understand it takes a minute but they I sat in the driver for 30 minutes stuck behind someone waiting on their order. Why yt would take 30 minutes for a sandwich & soup. I saw her order when I pulled up. She finally gave up and pulled through without getting her order which I'm very grateful for him because I was tired of singing there. Came here for the "Taste of Muncie" food tour with our guide Rick (locals know him as Slick Rick if ya know what I mean). Rick said that this Panera location had great pastries and the sweetest lemonade North of the Ohio river. After making love to a Sara Lee cinnamon bun at the Holiday Inn Express, I just couldn't handle another sugar rush. I said to myself "Jerry ya good for nuthin ninkumpoop, show some restraint." So that's what I did. I asked the cashier if they had a Muncie Salad on the menu? They said they didn't officially, but that the cook was BFFs with the maverick sandwich artists from Ball St. University who invented it. So the cook tossed a couple salads, and we were more than satisfied. The romaine had the crunch, the tomatoes the juice and the Muncie Goddess dressing stimulated all of my taste buds and my hypothalamus. I only deducted one star because my chocolate chip cookie only had two chocolate chips. read more

We just picked up lunch in the drive through. Got a couple "pick 2" sandwiches and salads. The sandwiches were okay, but the salads were both disgusting. The lettuce was brown, wilted, and downright slimy - unfortunately we had to get back to meetings at the office so we couldn't go back and demand different food. Wow! The new Panera Bread is awesome. It's fresh, it's nice and open and feels like a great place to spend time, and it's clean. Also, the bathrooms are nice. And no more slamming door for the women's room. I know my girlfriend mentioned it no longer scares the crap out of you, so I guess it isn't part of the design. The staff is happy, too. Great people, always great food. And that guy with the beard who seems to be a manager. Dude is cool. Thanks for letting me stay a bit longer when I've got some WiFi work on my computer. read more

My husband and I are frequent guests of Panera and love coming here. At this Panera, they served the food exceptionally fast during the lunch rush, which we appreciated. However, they were very curt and encouraged guests to used the computers even when there was no line, which I found annoying. When we were getting ready to go, my husband and I each went to use the restroom. The women's room was not as clean as I would have liked, but when my husband came from the men's room he told me that the only stall bathroom had fecal matter on the seat and he was not about to clean up someone else's mess in order to use the bathroom -- gross! read more

I have now had two terrible dining experiences at Muncie's Panera's and since this is not baseball, there will be no opportunity for a third strike. I ordered a brioche sandwich with a fried egg and cheese - one bite in I lost most of the yolk as it sprayed across the table and onto the pages of my new book. After cleaning up my table, book and face I tried to eat the rest the egg whites were cold like they had first been frozen and improperly microwaved. I complained and was offered a new sandwich, which I declined now feeling slightly sick to my stomach from the first. This is Sunday, Sept 22, 2019 around 10 am in case anyone at Panera's wants to take 30 seconds to properly train the food prep people. After two bad meals I won't be back. read more

First time going but bread hard as a rock. They have soft drinks but why is medium the size of most small. When I asked for help from the cashier (who was behind the counter ignoring me) because I wanted to change to large but she acted like she couldn't hear me. I had to leave with my tiny medium without any explanation on why I was treated like that. Hopefully next time you explain the serving sizes because I don't plan on going back. read more

Got a chicken avocado melt sandwich meal, the bread was cold like it had been refrigerated and all of the avocado was black and brown on it

I don't have a Panera where I live so when I visit my mom I love to go here. I love love their soups, they have some pretty good salads too, and their Mac and cheese is awesome! We went here on really busy lunch afternoon and got a southwest salad and a broccoli and cheddar soup. The soup was amazing!!! The salad I found to be okay! Kids mac and cheese for my daughter and it was a lot and she loved it. Overall great place for lunch I'm sure their breakfast is good too. The only thing I suggest is where you pick up food is such a mess. It's so busy over there when it's busy people trying to get drinks and people trying to get their food. Need a more organized system. Also they messed up my moms order of soup. She also said broccoli cheddar soup for her order but they were trying to give her corn chowder they also had to look at her recipe before changing the order like my mom was lying or something but saw they actually messed up and got corn chowder outta no where. read more

Panera has moved to a new location and building across the street, and unfortunately, it is not an improvement. We used the self serve kiosk to place order. Worked fine; took a while but nonetheless it was fine. Food came and was delicious. I ordered the teriyaki chicken bowl and was delicious. Husband had bread bowl with soup. With one beverage our bill was $25.00. The reason for the 2 stars? The interior was dirty. We were there, well after the lunch crowd, around 3:30 pm. Tables were dirty, food and wrappers on floor. Beverage counter was covered in spilled or leaked iced tea, standing in puddles. Dirty dishes and a pail of filthy water was by the disperser area. No one was cleaning tables, yet they had a mask requirement. Seemed a little counterproductive - don't spend the Covid you don't have, but have a nice helping of Hepatitis . Unsure if I'll be back - good food but dismal, grubby on the inside. read more

I remember when Panera opened years ago. I think that I stopped in a couple of times to pick up some bagels, but I didn't make much of the place. I saw it as nothing more than a place for bagels and big loaves of bread like you'd find in a corner bakery in France. That just wasn't fair! Panera is so much more! Aside from serving a variety of coffees (I LOVE coffee!), they also have soups, salads and sandwiches that rock! If only I lived near one of these places, I think that I would be there daily! The ingredients are very fresh and flavorful. I don't get the impression that their meats are sitting in a bucket on the serving line waiting to be microwaved like they are at Subway. If they are, then they could have fooled me! They use good, dark lettuce and other plants, not the shredded brown iceberg that Subway uses. Speaking of Subway, there is one right next door... HOW can they survive!? People. Seriously. If you are in the parking lot reading reviews on Panera and Subway trying to decide where to go for lunch... Forget Subway ever existed! You won't be sorry! Panera is on my rotation of places to eat for lunch. They have a nice line up on the menu. Salads, sandwiches, soup and of course, a bakery! Thinking a healthy lunch? They got it. Vegetarian? They have plenty of options. They don't dabble in boring flavors here, they really make food flavorful. On the other hand, are you into pb&j and chicken noodle soup like my husband? They cater to both the flavor explorers and the "same ol' same ol'" crowd, like myself. My cons on Panera is the price. I know, I know, you're paying for the experience and the quality. I appreciate that. I've only been to this Muncie location and it's always busy. I generally take my lunch to go. Parking is insane. It's by the mall, but it's not mall traffics that makes it crazy. If you like playing musical chairs so to speak, to get a parking space and don't mind spending $10 dollars for one person, this is a great place to open up your laptop and ignore the other 50 people inside ignoring you. read more

This is always an OK place to eat. My grand likes it, for their VEGGIE sandwiches, so we come often. The food is warned up, as are the chain eateries, and predictably good. The servers are somewhat helpful, but not as cordial as other places. read more

Panera Bread - Great FACILITY - Sandwiches Near Me - Muncie, Indiana

Panera is one of my favorite "chain" bakery/restaurants. They consistently provide fresh, healthy and flavorful options (and admittedly a lot of not-so-healthy items). I also like that calories are listed next to the menu item. This particular location is no different from any other Panera I've visited across the US. I haven't tried any of their coffees or teas yet since I usually come here for lunch. That is something that I will look into at my next visit. Overall a winner. read more

Everything about my experience was great, food, service, environment. The only down side is that Panera is a chain, thus it is not a treat necessarily to get Panera because there are multiples. I really appreciate and value a mom and pop shop that is fueled by someone's dream or the pride of a familial entrepreneurship. Back to Panera - On this visit I opted for a Mediterranean Veggie Sandwich. My sandwich was great. Fetta cheese, a hint of hummus I believe and a mixture of soft and crunchy vegetables. The only thing that I think I would have like to have had different was to have the option of fat free feta, for this sandwich had more calories than other sandwiches with meat and cheese. I splurged (splurge in this case is relative to my college budget) on this visit for a Peanut Butter cookie. Mmmmm. This puppy perfectly satisfied my craving for something sweet and butter. It wasn't soggy with butter, I just knew butter was in it, and that is what I wanted. It had a lovely, crisp crust and soft center. The cookie was pretty big so I justified the treat by splitting the delight into two different sittings. They are big enough that they could be shared. read more

I really enjoy Panera! There aren't many local places you can feel good about the quality of food and what's in it, but Panera makes it easy. Free range, natural fed chicken and turkey ... fresh greens that actually taste natural! The salads are incredible and service has always been friendly and helpful. I enjoy the breakfast sandwiches they have as well, and the fact I can get an egg white & spinach on whole grain to start the day off right when I'm in a rush, vs. the option of high grease, high fat fast food options I will always pass up. I'm glad Panera thrives in this community. They do it right, and the food speaks for itself. read more

My family visited this Pamela bread on 11-1-14 at 2pm. Upon entering the door I was unsure if I stepped into a dorm room or a restaurant. College students were packed everywhere along with tables clustered together making it impossible to get to "clean" tables. I do understand there is a college blocks away and the students I'm sure love to visit and study. That doesn't explain why the floors were covered with food and trash, nor does that explain the dirty tables! My wife and I both ordered the "Big kids grilled cheese" with a BOWL of broccoli and cheese soup. Soon our names were called to pick up our orders! After grabbing our orders off the counter I noticed one order had a bowl of soup and the other had a paper cup of soup. The bowl was clearly larger than the paper cup! After requesting a bowl filled with soup rather than a small paper cup of soup, the cooks informed me that they were both the same amounts and they were out of bowls. I'm clearly not an idiot and could tell the paper cup was smaller. It's also hard for me to believe they didn't have enough glass bowls on hand for all the customers they might have in one day at one time!After spending $30 on soup and a sandwiches I just thought I would of got what I paid for! After speaking with the manager and she also informing me that the amounts were exactly the same she graciously gave me another small paper cup of soup. I have an idea when a paying customer requests to get what they've paid for rather than acting like they are bothering you just make them happy and give them what they asked for. Great soups and sandwiches. Love the sourdough bread. Better than fast food in quality. Prices are a little higher but worth it.

It is my firm belief that the potato soup recipe was crafted by the Lord Himself and given to Panera. Bless Panera and all of its food.

First of all, the food was fine. Service was extremely disappointing, though. The guy who took my order had an attitude, which honestly made me want to leave. I clearly stated I wanted a full chicken avocado sandwich and a cup of soup. He looked at me like I had two heads, and asked me to repeat my order. I told him again, and he still didn't understand. It would've been fine, but using a condescending tone at any customer is unacceptable. I really didn't understand where the confusion was. I finally just asked for the pick two, and suddenly he understood that, even though it really wasn't what I wanted. In light of that odd situation, Panera's food was delicious as always. Let me start by saying I love Panera Bread because the food is delicious and the order is always correct........until today's visit. My husband surprised me by bringing home Panera's takeout. He ordered our usual soup and sandwich and out of the 4 items, only one was acceptable. My soup was great as usual but my husband did not get his soup. Instead, he got 2 sandwiches, and not even 2 of the type he ordered. One was some other sandwich with blue cheese, which went straight into the trash can. We had both ordered a ham and swiss sandwich and apparently they had run out of the bread that it comes on so our sandwiches were made using what appeared to be a plain old slice of thin bread. So I am giving only one star today for the one item that was up to Panera's usual standards. I find it hard to believe that panera BREAD ran out of bread. Really Panera????? read more
