Our food was delivered to our home. Had we eaten at the restaurant, or picked the order up ourselves, the following, most likely, would've been non-issues; but, that wasn't the case, so Panera should've known better than send the following items out the way they did. *The drink lid has an opening about the size of a quarter (see attached pics). It was not covered, sealed, or put it a package of any kind. Would you drink it? *The so-called baguette is a chunk of French bread which looks as though it was torn off from a full loaf of French bread. I wasn't expecting a full loaf, mind you, but I thought it would be a small, individually-baked loaf. But that pales in comparison with the fact that this chunk of bread was just thrown into the bag with the other items, loose, with NO wrapping/cover of ANY kind (see pics). I won't go into detail about the quality/taste of the food, as those things pale in comparison to the issues mentioned above. I would hope the restaurant took safety precautions, but what about the driver? What if he has been exposed? Not everyone has been vaccinated. Even in pre-COVID times, this sort of handling would be UNACCEPTABLE. read more

They could improve just about everything. For a lunch, over $20 per person to serve yourself and bus your own table for a 1/2 sandwich and a side salad? And $3.39 for a medium soda? The fork was bent, the napkins on the plate were soiled with spilled food (before I got it) and we had to chase away the homeless guy whose pants kept falling down as he went from table to table with his dirty Santa hat in July. And don't get me going about them expecting me to tip the staff behind the counter. Never again when you can go to Applebees across the street and pay less for better quality with table service. read more

Every visit here has been without incident. It's fast casual, but they are executing right at this location. I've only ever ordered ahead here and picked up, so I haven't experienced dine-in. This has got to be the worst Panera Bread anywhere! Every time I go there I have an issue. The staff at the drive thru told me today they only sell one Mediterranean/Greek salad. I said there are three to choose from. She disagreed again and I got out of the drive through and parked in the lot, ordered the salad and went back to the drive thru. The food was good and we were helped immediately because there was no other customers in there, but it was an absolute mess. The dishes were piling up, the bathrooms were a mess. No toilet paper in either of the stalls, trash was over flowing so much there was tampon wrappers on the floor. I understand things get busy but seeing the employees standing around and talking while there was food on the floor under the tables and the bathrooms completely left a mess, it just seemed unacceptable and made me not want to eat there. read more

Curbside pick-up has been my regular go to when hubby is working late and I'm eating solo. Orders are ready on time and don't have errors. Service is hit or miss depending on the mood of the employee and presentation could be improved so my food doesn't look smashed but overall, I'm a faithful Panera fan and will continue getting food here (even if their prices seem to sneakily climb up and up over time...) read more

The "new" broccoli cheddar Mac is simply the soup mixed with noodles.. not their classic Mac and cheese with broccoli added. The sandwich literally had dressing in a quarter size spot on the bread. The avocado was thrown on there as a whole half.. not sliced at all .. the lettuce was brown and wilted. Ordered a smokehouse barbecue chicken sandwich And cup of broccoli cheddar soup via drive thru. Wife ordered a strawberry poppy seed salad. When drive thru clerk hands over the bag , it seemed light. I asked if the soup was in there. She said "Everything is in the bag without checking. We got back on the highway, opened the bag and noticed there was no soup in the bag. Additionally, the sandwich was terrible. Very little chicken, with pieces of fat/ grissle between the thick, butter soaked bread, Very disappointed in this location which ruined my "good place to eat" opinion of this chain. My mom and I meet for lunch every Friday. During Autumn Squash Soup season, we always go to Panera. This Friday (10/14/2022) we left Panera on Sherman Blvd. in Muskegon, MI without being waited on. Several points: * The cashier that works every Friday at lunch is about the rudest cashier at Panera. She never greets you, never smiles, never wishes you a good day. She stares at you until you order, say your total, and gives you the buzzer. That's it. I joke to my mom that she's Panera's "ray of sunshine." Not a deal breaker, but certainly contributes to us passing on the "add a tip" screen. * On Friday, 10/14, just before noon, we arrived for our traditional lunch. The ray of sunshine was preparing a bagel. She's busy, I get it. But, she looked right at us, picked up the bagel and then walked off. No greeting, no, "I'll be right with you." * A second employee walked right past us at the register and straight into the kitchen. No, greeting. No, "someone will be right with you." * A third employee walked out of the kitchen, stood 2 feet from us and facing us for about a minute, actively not making eye contact. My mom stared at her. She walked off into the dining room. Did not acknowledge us. Did not let us know that someone will be with us. *A fourth employee, walked past us into the kitchen, then walked past us out into the right side where the food is served. Again, no greeting, no acknowledgement that we are standing right at the register waiting. *I don't mind waiting. I understand when businesses are busy and am usually very happy to wait patiently for my turn. What I cannot stand is to have 4 (FOUR) employees walk past me, look at me, and NOT Acknowledge me. Unacceptable. *We went across the street to Subway. There was a line, but as soon as we walked in the door, the sandwich artist greeted us and assured us someone will help us in a moment. Ate here briefly on a Saturday morning before heading to Grand Haven. I give this Panera 5/5 stars because when we went to clear our plates (as I do in the other Michigan/etc. Panera's I have been to), the staff was insistent that they would take care of it for us. I have ordered food to go twice in the past two weeks at 8pm or later and have been pleasantly surprised. My food was prepared accurately and quickly. Staff has been very friendly and attentive. Last evening, an employee was training a new employee so maybe they are adding staff. I ordered a "you pick two" combo and it was delicious. Hit the spot after a long day. I didn't get a copy of my receipt, but based on the regular prices of the pastries I also purchased, they must have given me a discount on them because it was an hour before closing time. My only criticism is that the parking lot in that area is dark. There are large lights around, but they weren't lit up. Even the lights above the awnings on the building were dim or off. Update: I just spoke with the manager and she appreciated me letting her know about the parking lot lights being out. She will be sure to mention it to the owner of the property. read more

Went to this location during a very busy lunch rush. I was surprised at how well the staff handled the rush as it seemed they were a little bit short staffed like the rest of the work right now. Everyone that was there was very friendly and helpful and the food came out quickly. The only reason I didn't give a 5 star rating is because I ordered 2 deserts and they were very mediocre. It's a decent Panera. I wouldn't say it's my favorite, but it's good. I don't particularly enjoy the location of this one and the atmosphere feels depressing in comparison to other Paneras, but it's okay. I've personally never had problems with my food here- it's just normal good ol' Panera. The staff here has been friendly as well. I keep getting the chipotle chicken avocado melt and it's heavenly. So are the raspberry almond thumbprint cookies. It's more expensive for chain food but I feel better about myself when I eat Panera rather than, say, McDonald's. read more

Ok the food at Panera is always good, however a normal lunch for my wife and I cost $28. As a measure of value for my spend, I ate good food while I sat in a fast food environment listening to screaming kids unmanaged by their otherwise distracted parents, I had an excellent view out the window of the fast food order drive up, and was served my food on a plate with a hair on it.
