I walked by Popovers after my dental appointment at Fixt and was drawn in by the memory of the popovers from one of my first reviews from Davios... yum.. anyways.... This cafe offers sandwiches, salads, an array of delicious drinks and desserts, etc.. Since I had company in town for Thanksgiving, I decided to purchase 3 treats. I chose for the carrot cake, chocolate cake & the caramel cake. All were fantastic! Yet what stood out 'for me was the CHOCOLATE! It was the Best Cake I have had ever! Really cute and quaint popover bakery with a variety of popovers and breakfast/brunch delights. It was amazing service and it is a quick service place. You order and they bring the food to you, it also came very fast. We had the egg, bacon and cheese breakfast sandwich which was massive just like the original popover with the delicious butter and strawberry jam. Great price for the portion. The service was perfect. I wish the food had some flavor. I got the basic egg and cheese popover with Swiss cheese. And that is exactly what I got. No value add. No seasoning on the egg. The popover was a basic popover, nothing special, and I found the flavor on the stale side (although nothing wrong with the texture!). Thankfully the swiss cheese had some salt in it... There is street parking in front. Plenty of room inside. There is room to expand if they ever wanted to. They specialize in popovers....,, Yum. I had the oatmeal and breakfast bowl with turkey sausage, cheddar cheese and egg. They brought my breakfast out to me. I thought the serving sized was reasonable given the price. I suppose the rent is high giver it is Wellesley. It could have been larger. I would return. read more

I have gotten the same thing, a popover egg and cheese, all 3 times I've come here. The experiences have varied. The first time I came was December, right after they opened. The popover itself was good, if a little hard, but the egg was a rectangular patty that seemed to be prepared in a batch ahead of time and warmed up. It was unseasoned and rubbery, and the texture really put me off. I came back at the beginning of the summer to give a second chance, thinking the egg may have changed. For some reason, the texture of the egg was much better this time- not as rubbery and thick. Thinking the eggs had changed for the better, I came back a third time to discover the egg was the same rubbery rectangle I encountered on my first visit. Maybe the egg preparations were just different between these visits? Whatever the reason is, I prefer a made to order egg or at least a seasoned one. I am sure their other popover dishes are great, but I'm not sure if I'll be coming back to try. read more

I live nearby and decided to pay Popovers a vist for the first time. I am happy to report it was an enjoyable stop. I ordered a plain popover with butter which is placed on the side. The popover is huge! Price is $4.95 which is very competitive for this area due to high rents businesses incur here. Well worth the price. I enjoyed the coffee aswell. Kudos to the very pleasant staff. I will be returning son. Plenty of metered street parking is available. Parking meters are in effect Monday through Saturday 8:00am to 6:00pm. First day! Popovers are huge, moist, flavorful and delicious. They have a large breakfast/lunch menu. There are about 10 tables to sit and enjoy. They have muffins, cookies and cold salads too! It's a cute place but when your name is Popovers, your main audience is people who know how a popover should look, taste and feel. They want their grandmother's popovers. I ordered a popover egg bacon and cheese sandwich and a medium hot cocoa. I was asked by a very pleasant worker what kind of cheese I would like and if I'd like whipped cream. I asked for cheddar and of course went for the whipped cream. I was told that they would bring my food out to me. A reasonable time later my sandwich and hot cocoa were brought out to my table. Sandwich was very hot. The egg was over cooked microwaved and am pretty sure it was carton eggs rather than fresh. My sandwich appeared to have been microwaved because it was very hot and not crisp at all. I took a drink from my hot cocoa and it felt very light. When I took off the lid, I found that it was only filled 1/2 way. I feel that sandwich was overpriced for the quality. The hot cocoa tasted good but I would've liked more than 1/3 of a cup. read more

The sandwich ends up being a "roll up" this way. They may want to try cutting the popover horizontally, making it more of a "sandwich." Also, the gluten free popover was pretty good. read more

We went away with friends for the weekend and bought 6 popovers to take for our breakfast the next day. We re-heated them in the oven and they were AMAZING! Everybody loved them.
