    Chicken Broccoli Alfredo

My hubby and I wanted to grab a quick meal before heading to the movies. Fiorella's is a fast casual Italian eatery that has a few locations in the Boston area, two provides full in-dining services. We've gone to the Belmont location and there's few seatings, but mainly this location is for takeout or delivery. We dined in and you can tell it's a popular establishment in the area as it got packed inside with people who ordered takeout. This was our first time and the food was yummy! I had the chicken Alfredo. They did mention they don't serve alcohol but you are able to BYOB and they have wine glasses to hand out in case you do :)

Takeout. Gnocchi. Lasagna. Pasta Bolognese. All came with garlic bread.

Ordering through Uber Eats. Had to use the Belmont location instead of Wellesley since, for some reason, lasagna was not on the Wellesley Uber Eats menu. Food was really good.

Pretty good local takeout spot right down the street from my apartment. Not high end or top quality Italian but perfect comfort food style Italian. Budget friendly. Their calzones are what I love. Their meatball parm calzone is . Toasted Ravioli is pretty good as well. Delivery is available but they stay busy and it takes a while at times so it causes the Uber eats and grubhub nerds to complain. I do takeout and find the food always hot and fresh. If you want real food go to the mothership Fiorella's location in Newton. That is where it's all about.

    Romaine lettuce hunk from Caesar

Used to be a happy customer but they are raising prices across the board. Chicken Caesar wrap now is 30% more than it was 2 years ago. They asked me to pay $2 extra to sub linguine for penne (this is on top of the price increase for that dish that is around the same % increase as the Caesar wrap. I've ordered easily 100 times from this place the past few years. I am done with them. Food quality at times has been really spotty. Wraps would have no or crappy lettuce, parm sandwiches would be dry. The place is so close i can walk there in a minute but from now on I will drive somewhere to pick it up.

Garlic Bread that came for free with each entrée!

The dishes and flavor were very basic. Great last-minute pickup but definitely not something I would take my out-of-town friends to.

Our waitress was fantastic--so friendly, attentive, and pleasant throughout the meal. There were so many things I wanted to try! We started with the Baked Clams, which were fresh and delicious. The Grilled Salmon with lemon risotto cake, grilled corn, marinated zucchini, and tomato agrodolce was perfectly cooked, fresh, and a huge portion. Everything on the plate worked so well together. The Chianti-Marsala Braised Beef Short Rib with Parmesan polenta, roasted mushrooms, and braising jus was absolutely amazing. The short rib was incredibly tender and flavorful--it literally melted in my mouth! We were all way too stuffed for dessert, but honestly, that's a pretty good problem to have. Overall, a fantastic meal! Delicious food, generous portions, wonderful service, and a lovely patio atmosphere. Definitely a place I'd come back to!

We were welcomed in and were seated inside. We had just flown in from California that day and I wanted pizza and pasta. We ordered both of those along with some salads. The kale Caesar salad was my favorite of all the dishes. It was crisp and refreshing with a delicious dressing. Everything else was just ok. The grilled Margherita pizza was an ultra thin almost cracker crust pizza. The rigatoni bolognese and spaghetti al limone were ok but nothing special. Our waitress was friendly enough but not very attentive. Our dinner was fine but I wouldn't choose to return.

The food, which is really why you're reading, was very very good - we had perfect salmon, crispy and tasty chicken parm, and solid salads. BUT the meatballs were the star, they were so close to my mom's meatballs that I would probably lose in a taste test between the two. They are the protype that all meatballs should follow, flavorful, Italian-y, and you kept wanting to take another bite. If you do nothing else, get the meatballs and run. Aside from the 5 star meatballs, there were two misses: the garlic bread was basically just cheese (not my thing), and the marinara was too basic and too close to jar sauce. We had a really good meal here, and would go back again any time. You should go too.

Our meetings were at Harvard Business School in Cambridge but finding parking on the other side of the river after 8 pm is an unenviable challenge. Located in a 19th Century converted fire house, Il Casale has high ceilings and brick walls that create a spacious, open interior. Il Casale was busy and, though seated immediately, had to wait a bit for service - understandable on a Friday evening. We started with a 2019 Barone Cornacchia Casanova Montepulciano d'Abruzzo which is an organic, full-bodied red wine with strong nose and hints of black cherry with a spicy finish. We also had an extra dry Hendricks up that, alas, could not be served as a Gibson. The menu is extensive and features the usual cast of characters. The pasta is house made and perfectly al dente. We had the grilled salmon and the chicken parmigiana. Both were solid, if not spectacular. We finished with their version of olive oil cake which was actually very good. This review is meant to call out the exceptional experience last Monday night at the Newton restaurant. We were a group of about 20 and the reservation was made a few days before. I wish I'd gotten the server's name because she was excellent. She took our drink and meal orders quickly, and did not flinch when we asked if she could do separate checks for all of us. To me this is unheard of in a restaurant but "no problem" seemed to be this restaurant's approach. The meals took a bit to arrive but, like I said, twenty people!! I got a caesar side salad ( a bit heavy on the dressing but the ingredients were fresh) and a sporkie small pizza. The crust was a little burnt on a few of the slices but not a big problem -- it was tasty. (my neighbor got the same pizza but no burnt edges so just the luck of the draw I guess). We were seated in our own section so we didn't have to worry about disturbing those around us. The bills were settled quickly and there was no sense that we needed to rush.
