Got my iced drink and then was told store ran out of straws. Ok... Waited for my takeout order and found the cashier forgot to add my sandwich order. Ok... Then was told they ran out of the bread for the sandwich. Seriously???? read more

If I could give ZERO stars I would, I ordered my lunch thru Grub hub at 11:51 , was told it was made and ready to be delivered at 12:21, and would arrive between 12:25 and 12:35 at 12:45 I call Panera's Customer Service line and they called the New Haven location and told me that they were sorry they were down a driver and that a manager would be bringing my order within 10 mins and the fact that my order was sitting for over 30 minutes that they would make it again and it would be fresh and hot. My order arrived at 1:07. And it was cold and was the order that was sitting for 46 min and it was just a driver, I asked where was the manager who was to deliver my order, I was told it would take to long for him to get his car so they waited for this driver to come back. POOR MANAGEMENT. This is a embarrassment for Panera Bread. I wish Panera Corporate would contact me and explain why this happened. read more

I have been slow to post this because I don't want to fling accusations around, but...I ate the Mediterranean sandwich yesterday and something seemed amok shortly after finishing. A few hours later I had very loud tummy gurgles amd a few hours after that I was in agony with stomach cramps. Over 24 hours later and I'm still queasy. This has been the longest wait I have ever had for food. I walked into this Panera at about 8:20. It took then 20 minutes for them to take our order in line. We sat down at the table at 8:40 to wait for our food. It is now 9:20 and our food STILL hasn't gotten here. They have so many people working in the kitchen. How hard is it to put a small Mac n cheese in a bowl and give it to us? They don't even have to cook it! I will never be back here again! This is awful and I am so hungry. read more

I was running late to a important 7:30 AM meeting when I remembered that I had volunteered to bring the coffee and bagels! I called the Chapel Street Panera as I leaped into the car, and they put together a bag of bagels and had the coffee brewing when I stopped in just a couple of minutes later! In my frazzled state, they had to remind me to get cream cheese for the bagels and creamer + sugars for the coffee. I was in and out within minutes. They really saved the day for me! read more

I'm very disappointed with the service. As I was walking to order my food. The cashier Mariah did not greet me as "Hello Welcome to panera bread How can I help you" how you get when you at other locations in Connecticut like Trumbull, Fairfield, & Milford.....Mariah the cashier just stared at me & didn't saying anything with no smile on her face, as if she was upset about something took her personal problems to work. As I told the manager she was rushing my conversation saying I'll take care of it but never ask for the employee name. Overall experience at this location was very horrible I did not feel welcome. I like panera. I have no qualms about running in for a quick bite to eat. This one is the worst I have been in. I waited 30 minutes for half of a sandwich and soup. I would understand if I was the only one whose order had gotten lost (which apparently mind did because eventually someone retook it at the pick up counter), but several people were waiting anxiously thinking they were forgotten. I stood by the counter for a long time and they all appeared to be working furiously, but I think it was to compensate for lots and lots of mistakes. You could hear them arguing and looking for different pieces of orders which had gone out in wrong bags or to the wrong customers. It was busy in there, but not any busier than any other panera (or restaurant) that I have seen. I feel bad because the one guy who finally brought out my order was very apologetic, but my "hour to kill" was wasted away and rather than eat and relax I rushed to devour everything so I could make it to meet my friend on time. read more

Was a very nice location with super friendly staff, although I ordered the steak and cheddar panini, and did not expect it to come with onions and horse radish sauce that was really gross, if I knew it had the radish sauce I probably wouldn't have ordered it, I think they need to show or communicate what comes on the sandwich better.. read more

I know you may think all paneras are the same, but this one is absolutely identical to all the other ones. However, if you like magic: the gathering, pokemon, or yugioh, the local kids gather every Sunday to show off their fantasy finesse. Unfortunately, the internet is lacking but its easy to grab wifi from nearby stores. Also apply for a membership card. You get a free pastry! read more

This store is on my list For the worst store around I signed up to have an order delivered to my brothers house and it never showed up after spending almost $75 for the order and was charged for the order. The manager was not sympathetic at all to the whole situation and if you're looking for a delivery service or catering service for any thing to be delivered as a gift do not use this service it's horrible read more

I have been a frequent patron for over five years at the Panera in New Haven. Customer service has always been friendly. Food has been what I expect at a Panera. However, two weeks ago, three co-workers and I decided to meet for lunch. We all ordered a meal and drink and as a group spent over $60. There was not one table or seat to be had. The entire restaurant was full of students in study groups and no Panera food in sight! One student (with his shoes off) at the largest booth in the restaurant with an ice water. We walked around for ten minutes and when we asked management if they could help we were told we could have our food to go. After fifteen minutes we squeezed into a small table for two and laughed at the student rubbing his shoeless socks on the floor and the fact that almost no tables had any Panera food on it. We actually saw a woman drinking a Starbucks coffee while talking "AT" everyone at the table. I totally understand it's a great meeting place but at least pretend to be a patron. read more

I really like that they have a different layout from other Paneras. Great atmosphere! It could be my imagination, but I don't think they have the full menu. I also saw them throw out a homeless man once (typical Yale snobbery), so I bought him a panini. I get that they have to control that, but I just think it's really sad for a business, especially in an urban environment, to turn its back on their fellow man. I love this place. Wish we had this chain all across Canada. Healthy food. The breakfast sandwich has whole grain bread, egg white, avocado, spinach and tomato! I couldn't believe that I am eating out and it's healthy. Their Chinese cashew citrus salad is amazing and even half order is a generous proportion. The Panera workers messed up my order and i was waiting for my toast for 1 hour and then it was burned I was like what the heck I'm hungry and I want to eat breakfast , so then when I finally got my meal I asked for cinnamon and they gave me ground cinnamon instead of sugar cinnamon but I didn't know that so I put on the cinnamon and it ruined my whole meal. Standard Panera. Quick service, decent food. I used to come here once in a while for lunch, but they removed my go-to item on the menu (Chipotle Chicken Panini). Also, they keep raising the prices. A pick two used to be ~7$ two years ago and now it is ~11$, and there are plenty of better options in New Haven in that price range. read more

panera of chapel st in new haven has horrible customer service. i ordered my food online it said food would be here by 12:30pm. it was 12:50pm and the food was still not here so i decided to call, when the girl answered she was so rude almost like she was frustrated or something (i get it, at that point that didnt bother me) so i asked her very nicely what was going on and why my food wasnt here yet (lunch hour is over at 1pm) so she goes and says that the food is on the way that they only had one driver, so i proceeded to tell her that it was ok that maybe they should let their customers know there's going to be a delay, she instantly got super offensive and said "i can just cancel it if you dont wanna wait" so i said, how are you going to cancel it if it's already on the way? so she then said well the food never left the place that it would be a while until the driver left bc they had over 25 orders. omg at that point i felt like my entire body was on fire, if there is one thing i hate is people messing with my food. yet i was still nice and told her to give me a minute because i had to double check with my coworker to what she said well you need to tell me now because the driver is waiting for me to give this bag or not. i said, girl you just said it was going to be a while until the driver left what do you mean? she cut me off and said "just tell me if you want the food or not" all i said was is the driver leaving now yes or not? so she said you want the food? i said answer my question is the driver leaving right now? so she said yessss i said ok send it then thanks. food got here 5 mins after. i cant believe how rude she was. i really cant. read more
