ALERT ALERT My poor 80 year old grandmother ordered a French onion soup with a chicken Caesar salad. In the midst of her eating she found A DEAD BEETLE resting on a piece of lettuce. It was big and black. Considering me and my sisters Caesar salad was probably made in the same bowl, our salads were now contaminated. They did give us refund but ONLY for that salad. It took 18 minutes for our food and it was not cheap. People were coming in smelling like cigarettes! I have sensitive lungs!!! Of all the Panera restaurants I have eaten in, this is by far the worst. Surly staff, indifferent management, cold coffee, bread as hard as a rock, inedible soup that seemed to have been taken from the bottom of the pot, and orders missing their primary ingredients. This location is a s**t show. We waited 15 minutes for 2 sandwiches at 2:00. It is not even busy. They seem to do a ton of Door Dash so if you are in restaurant you are in a cue for your order. Sandwiches were good but we stopped for a quick bite. Not so much! read more

Wow Panera bread at Plymouth colony place is the dirtiest Panera I have entered. Never bring a friend or guest there. The bathroom is always overflowed with trash on floor,poop in toilet seats with urine and tissue on floor. Very embarrassing to have a conference or friend for lunch. I would be careful what you eat. Ordered a beverage and the worker handed us a mildew smelling cup she was handling after sweeping floors and wiping counters with mildew cloth. Really disgusting. If you look in on a Friday night we'll the prep are for food is a slop show. You may get food poisoning. This Panera on its last legs. Surprised health inspector has not shut it down! read more

Great soups any day!! Always consistent, service isn't to bad dining areas clean most of the time but not always during busy peak times.

This location is really on top of their game when it comes to rapid pickup orders as well as when ordering food. Lunch rushes aren't a joke at this location so rapid pickup should be something to look into it if you don't have the app downloaded. The Sierra Turkey sandwich is back finally and this location was where I had it in a really long time. I was happy nothing changed and gobbled it up on my lunch break. French onion is back too, but I only get that as a treat since it's loaded with the good stuff! Whenever I am there, the hot water seems to always be out which is kind of a bummer because I always get tea there. read more

It's hard to get excited about Panera. The food is the same at every location: good, not great. It's expensive. You have to fix your own coffee. This particular Panera stands out among others though. They have by far the friendliest staff of any location I've been to. It's smaller than most Paneras, but has a couple of nooks that seem to offer a more private experience than at other locations. read more

I had a staff meeting today and I decided to surprise my staff with Panera for lunch. I put in the order online and was very pleased that I was able to place an order for 12:45p pick up time. Shortly after ordering, I received a call from an employee at Panera. She said she was calling to confirm (something that has never been done in the past) when in fact, she was just calling to give me an attitude about how short notice my order was placed. She began by saying that she does not usually take orders at this time due to the lunch rush. I explained to her that it would probably be best for the establishment to disable online ordering during those times. How am I supposed to know, as a customer, not to order at a certain time do to it being rush hour? Why would you let online orders come through if you do not want the business? She definitely gave me an attitude and stated "Well this is why I am calling you NOW"... uhh okay? Not sure what the point of the call was. It was ridiculous to say the least. Then my staff went to go pick up the order and was treated with the same rudeness from a different person. They were having trouble locating the order because my name was not on it (the company was listed since I had to use the company card). They tried to tell my staff there was no order and continued being rude. Luckily we were able to figure it out before she gave up. I'm sure if she were met with some patience it could of easily been figure it out without my staff having to contact me in a frenzy. At the end of the day the food was decent (the only reason I gave another star) but they still forgot to give us our beverages. I will think twice before using them for catering next time. read more

Poor management. I came back to try again. Manager was doing assembly and there were two cashiers with a line to the door. She has no clue as to customer service. The cashier I got stuck with I should have known it would be bad from looking at her sloppy hand written name tag. I ordered To Go, sesame bagel, Toasted with plain cream cheese. Do you want that to go? Ummm yeah Do you want it toasted? Sure let's go with that I received an everything bagel that tasted like a salt shaker was emptied on it, barely toasted. This is my go-to Panera. The staff is always friendly and the food is always good, though a bit expensive compared to other fast food places. Calories are posted next to each meal choice, so it is a perfect place for people on a diet. Wait time here can be somewhat longer than other fast food places depending on how busy it is, but it is always reasonable. The food is made fresh, not just grabbed from under a heating lamp like at other fast food places, so I assume this is the reason for a slightly longer wait time. One time, I placed an order ahead using the Panera app. When I went to pick it up, the manager said they were out of one of the sides that I ordered. To compensate me for the inconvenience, they gave me a full baguette as well as a free pastry, all while apologizing profusely. That more than made up for one missing side. read more

On the trip to Plymouth, turns out the only place where we could get some vegetarian food is panera. It's in a neat strip mall, place is neat and clean. Plus food is good as obvious, but this time i ordered pick 2 with med veggie sandwich with modern Greek salad with quinoa. This location sucks. I came in at 830 for breakfast and the 2 women at the counters were so rude. When we first walked up, a boy and a girl were placing their order and one lady asks the boy about his multicolored hair and why his parents would let him do that & asked his age. Who cares?! Does it effect you? No. The lady who took our order couldn't seem less thrilled to be there. She was huffy when my mother was trying to decide what she wanted and when I asked for my croissant to be toasted, she points to a microwave behind me and told me to use that. The most mixed bag experience ever at a Panera. Pros: Very nice order taker. Down to earth and sincerely friendly. The food was solid Panera fare. Cons: Iced Teas were totally watered down. Should be advertised as tea colored water. Usually much more flavor in other locations. The seats and tables had been wiped down thoroughly....but they were really wet. The place was not crowded but an employee on a phone break was parking themselves in the last large booth. I came here today for lunch while waiting for a nearby store to open. There was a minor problem with our order but Hannah, who was behind the line making food, stopped right in her tracks and corrected the discrepancy immediately. They're always running out of items, and frequently when I call ahead for take-out, they either don't answer the phone, get the order wrong, and/or the food isn't ready when I get there after the quoted time that the food is supposed to be ready. read more

I've been a Panera fan for many years but feel that the establishment is on a downward spiral with the recent market saturation of healthier dining options. They keep eliminating popular menu items which is a drag, and need to have a better selection of vegetarian options. They should also remove the chicken broth from the mac n cheese as or be more forthcoming about it containing animal products. I was very disappointed with my visit to Panera with my husband and son yesterday at this location in particular. This Panera is in Plymouth MA and yesterday it was quite chilly out. They have a beautiful fireplace and didn't even have it turned on. I ordered a children's grilled cheese (which doesn't even include a drink) for approx. 6 dollars for my toddler. Really, I have to pay an extra 2 bucks for a juice box which anywhere else would have been included with children's meal? I got the you pick two and was not offered a choice of sides by register employee (which actually seems to be a commonplace occurrence). Had I not known there were several options to choose from for a side item, I would have been stuck with a piece of baguette to eat with my sandwich (bread overkill). The food was ready fast and although my soup only had three croutons, it was good as was the grilled cheese. My husband had a sandwich and enjoyed his meal as well (this is the reason for the two stars). The seating options are lackluster and crowded at this location especially if you have a stroller, although there are large windows to look out and enjoy the view of the water fountain in the summer. There is also outdoor seating which is great, albeit limited. The current manager at this location is a disgruntled older man who seems to hate his job. The first time I encountered him, he neglected to ask for my Panera card and after I finished telling him my order, I asked if he could enter my number so I could receive rewards. He became frazzled as he must have already put order through and said "well I have to cancel the order and start all over again"; as if it were my fault and was I was essentially reprimanded for his mistake. He seems like he speaks down to the employees too. The other location at shops at five is much nicer in my opinion. read more

I have been a frequent Panera customer for the past fifteen+ years at locations spanning the east coast and tri-state area and I have to say that this is the WORST location that I have ever been in. Additionally, it wasn't a "hit-or-miss" one time experience; this, unfortunately, is the location closest to my home and I have never had a positive experience. I am a fan of the order online and in-store pick-up option and not once since I've ordered at this location has my food been ready when I was told it would be when I went to pick it up... I have sat for up to 25 minutes waiting for my "pick-up" order that had been placed up to an hour ago, unacceptable. Furthermore, I'm a vegetarian who specifically ordered a salad without meat on it, for obvious reasons, and said salad came with tons of chicken pieces spread throughout the salad... I don't like to consider what could happen to someone with a serious food allergy at this Panera. All the time that I have waited for service that this Panera has given me the chance to observe the employee culture and after what I have observed, it really is no wonder that they can't get food out consistently and on time. I waited in line behind an older couple for probably fifteen-twenty minutes the last time that I was in the restaurant before finally walking out-- the manager was on the phone the entire time the there was a line of people waiting to order and several employees acknowledged said line of customers before scooting past the cash register and said manager, still on the phone, to fuss with something in the back. Just a little tip to the manager of this store-- if you have customers waiting in line, it's usually best to put whomever you have on the line on hold... or at least to motivate your employees, whom are also terrible. Sadly, I will drive the extra fifteen minutes to the Pembroke location from now on. read more

As someone with a pretty severe apple allergy, going to restaurants can be a pretty harrowing experience - especially healthy restaurants such as Panera. After coming to this location a couple times, I felt completely comfortable about my safety there. Through both online and in person ordering, my allergy was taken very seriously and I was assured (and witnessed) that gloves were changed before my food was made and new knives were used. I've been to this location dozens of times, and have never had any sort of reaction, which is not an easy feat for a restaurant that serves many dishes with apples as an ingredient. I have eaten lunch at this location many many times and have always been pleased. A couple days ago I went there with my son and ordered the green goddess salad... about an hour after I got home severe stomach cramping took over. I was doubled over in pain for 4 hours and then I started to vomit ... this continued through the night until early morning. Just when I thought I was out of the woods diarrhea hit me! That went on all day long. I was quite sure by this time that I had gotten food poisoning for sure! I thought I should call Panera just to give them a heads up about it, that maybe they should check into it. The manager was so very rude, in compassionate and nasty. She should have at least apologized for the fact that I got sick from their food and said "hope you feel better". NOT told me her feelings on how long it takes for food poisoning to set in, I'm sorry but she is not my doctor, I spoke to my doc and it was definitely food poisoning! Anyway, bottom line.... I'll never be able to eat there again, they've lost a few good customers. read more
