Date night where you can dress sexy or bar-casual. Upscale restaurant with a tiny bar. I wouldn't recommend going without a reservation, but you might get lucky and find a bar seat. Upscale drinks. The menu is interesting--we tried the tuna wontons, which were like minced tuna with fresh herbs on a wonton... 10/10. Pork and leek dumplings (steamed) were also 10/10. We each got the rice--I got chicken, my fiancé got salmon. I had way more protein in mine vs his, but wow... this rice is undeniably delicious. Stopped here on 7/5/2026 for a late dinner while traveling from the Cape. I have been wanting to come here for some time and I'm glad I finally did. My girlfriend and I ate at the bar and we both really enjoyed ourselves. The bartender was excellent, very friendly and efficient. Food was very good; especially the Pork-fried rice, which I count as good as I've ever had. We also had the fried dumplings, Rangoon, and Wagyu beef, again all very good. Tried it once, wasn't impressed. Tried it again to give it another chance, equally unimpressed by the food, prices and portions. How is it $40 for a very small portion of ramen noodles and chicken? The Thai curry was inedible, it tasted like someone melted a candle in it or soap. It was artificial tasting and I wonder if they dropped essential oils in it instead of using fresh ingredients, like lemongrass. When I tried to inquire about the off taste I was met with "well I like that dish so..." from the waitress. We spent $500 and left hungry due to the small portion sizes. $10 to add chicken to the meals and $16 to add shrimp, the chicken was almost unnoticeable. All in all it was really disappointing, I'm only giving 2 starts because I didn't get food poisoning. read more

Without a doubt my favorite restaurant in Plymouth! Every time we are in town visiting our friend I beg to go here. The ambiance is excellent. All of the servers and staff members are friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. The food and drinks are outstanding. Great atmosphere for a fun, elevated night out. Beautifully presented and delicious to consume! It's a great spot to go to with a group so you can try a variety of items on the menu. On the road from Boston to the Cape we found Salt on Yelp and glad we did. Place was hopping on a Thursday night. Small bar with very efficient bartender so we were able to get a drink while waiting 10-15 minutes for a table. Staff pools tips so we didn't have to cash out before being seated. The entire staff was friendly and efficient; decor was nice; vibe was energetic. We shared three dishes. The baked oysters were creamy and delicious but there were five pieces so we had to "fight" over the last one. . The kale Caesar was very good and plenty to share. The Seafood House Fried Rice was amazing and a huge portion (even with two of us sharing, we brought some home). Many guests were ordering dumplings/gyoza and they looked and smelled wonderful as they passed our table. Patrons ranged from date night to girls night out to the fine dining crowd. We will remember Salt! Addendum: Sometimes, taken home leftovers reveal that the meal wasn't as great as you thought. NOT so with the Seafood House Fried Rice. Salt does well on a few fronts, interesting menu, the salmon sashimi had great flavor and texture, and they make a mean french fry. There were some less desirable elements of the meal, especially in a restaurant that's supposed to be on the nicer side. My biggest issue though was the very long and pointy bone buried deep in my braised duck steam bun. I'm glad I discovered it and didn't accidentally swallow it. read more

Let's start by saying that it's been a while since I've been wowed by a meal, an experience, a wonderful outing so if you don't want to read this full review, just know we had an amazing experience from the food, the service, and the ambience. The experience started with a warm greeting from the hostess who walked us to table confidently with grace and poise as if she was training for a Michelin experience. The table was nicely set, elegant yet understated and very approachable for a small group dressed casually-smart. Every cocktail was wonderfully balanced, every dish was made with live, and the service was very attentive but never rushed. To keep this review reasonable I think I'm only going to highlight a single dish which was the beautifully seared scallops served over a bit of black rice that was perfectly prepared. The scallops were properly seasoned and cooked to perfection, the rice was cooked just so and the sauce was absolutely incredible. Kudos the chef Johnny Shaheen !!! read more

Wow!!! Salt was incredible. We had an 7pm reservation and were sat promptly when we arrived. A seafood restaurant with a touch of Asian fusion is the best way to describe this restaurant. We got a few items from the Raw section and along with was warm dishes Oysters (best I have had in a while) Yellowtail (good bit thick pieces) Beef tataki (amazing! We ordered another) Tuna sashimi (ok was a thick piece of tuna) Ceviche (good) Pork and leek dumplings (good - too much sauce on them) Pork buns (ok) Pork fried rice (very good) I would highly recommend Salt for a nice dinner or date night. We made a reservation here for 5:00 and were running late. Canceled at 5:05 and arrived at 5:15 and asked if our table was available. It was not, despite many open tables. The only table was a high top near the back of the bar. The seating was loud and could not have a decent conversation. Service was good, drinks were delicious. Appetizers were good as well. Very prompt and hot. Entrees were average. I had sesame noodles and she had truffle mazeman. The noodles were good but not exceptional. The mazeman was ok, but my friend noted and off taste in it. Dinner for two with one drink, appetizer and entree each was $100, not inexpensive. I'd not come back for the poor service to place us in the very back. Horrid table. read more

We had excellent service from Sofia. She was welcoming and made good suggestions. The ambiance is nice, but no ocean view. We had an early dinner & great food. Loved the sake flight. Oysters were B+, fresh but small. Butter poached lobster & forbidden rice was our favorite. The steak & shrimp was very large and good, but the wagyu beef was not special. 2 of us arrived around 6pm on a Wednesday evening. There were a few outdoor tables available, we chose the dining room and were the first to be seated. FOOD: The tuna sashimi, $22, is fresh and beautifully presented. The kale Caesar salad was tasty, made with baby kale and the perfect amount of dressing. I would have liked the kale to be ribboned as it is a tougher leaf than most lettuces/spinach, however, that is personal preference. It is large enough to share. The szechuan ramen beef is outstanding. The beef was tender and flavorful. The veg ramen was also excellent. Plenty of fresh veggies and flavor. SERVICE: Katherine and Chloe looked after us for the entire meal. We began with bottled water, $8, which took a while to arrive, however, after that, there were no delays in food or drinks arriving. BAR: The bar was full when we arrived as it only has 8 seats or so. By the time we left, an hour-90 minutes later, there were available seats. The house wine is a little pricy for the brand, $16 for an exact pour. ATMOSPHERE: Welcoming and clean. We did note once the main dining area was half full, it was pretty loud, however we were finishing up so was not an issue for us. OTHER: The free lot fills up quickly on nice days, however, if you can score a spot it is close to the restaurant. They do not accept American Express. read more

I have been to Salt twice. The first time we sat outside in the summer and it was amazing. I tried the Watermelon Sugar drink that was a special and the viva la sal. For appetizers, we had the crispy shrimp, which was excellent and the cheese dumplings, which we didn't care for. I had a noodle dish for my meal. It had vegetables and was very good. The second time I went, we requested an outdoor seat in our reservation, but instead were instead seated inside by the door. It was very loud and congested with a lot of traffic coming in and out. I enjoyed my drink, the beautiful and the damned. However, my husband ordered an espresso martini and half the drink was foam. He drank it in 2 sips because the rest was all foam. For appetizers we ordered the crispy shrimp, scallops, and fish tacos. We really liked the crispy shrimp and scallops. We shared kale Caesar, which was amazing. I had the sesame noodles for my meal, which were very good. My husband had a rice bowl, which he did not care for. I would likely go back with my friends. Staff was friendly and location was great. The food I had was only OK. I had the salmon and I just didn't have a lot of flavor. It was well cooked but boring. This is an absolutely beautiful restaurant inside. Our server Bailey was so wonderful.. she has a funny flair about her that will bring a smile to your face. We had the octopus for an appy that was tasty but it was cut into tiny pieces which we did not expect. Our entrees were salmon and halibut. The fish was fresh and delicious. I had a double veg as opposed to the rice. They were tasty but just a bit on the salty side. The wine was outstanding and the chocolate pannacotta dessert was OUT OF THIS WORLD. We never order dessert but because the meals are not huge like many restaurants we had room to share something. All in all I feel like this restaurant is a special place for a special occasion. The location was cool, waitstaff was great, nice vibe inside but I got the ceviche and it literally had no flavor. I was with a group so I didn't want to complain and I ate what felt like just plain uncooked whitefish in water. I'm currently eating ceviche at Los Andes in Providence and it reminded me of what it should taste like so I had to quickly write this review. Leche de tigre should have lots of flavor! My friend and I were visiting Plymouth for the weekend and kicked it off with a fabulous dinner at Salt Restaurant. We were seated outside in the covered patio area which gave a great view of the waterfront. Luckily we arrived just in time to order two spicy tuna wontons and a bowl of the spicy shrimp tempura off the happy hour menu, both incredibly delicious! The drinks were tasty and arrived to the table quickly. From the raw menu, we ordered the yellowtail hamachi, tuna & caviar sashimi, and the American wagyu beef tataki. The yellowtail hamachi was our favorite dish of the evening, extremely good! The wagyu was a close second, the aji Amarillo vinaigrette packing a punch of flavor. We also split an order of pork and leek dumplings and a cucumber salad. The dumplings were fantastic but the cucumber salad was so spicy! Overall, each dish was flavorful, fresh, and perfectly appetizing. And shout out to our exceptional waitress, Trinity! Cannot wait to visit again soon. read more

The rating is 3/5 because of the $28 pork fried rice that I ordered to share between 2 people, as recommended by the server. The pork fried rice was advertised on the menu as containing soy braised pork belly, egg, chives, napa cabbage, carrots, sesame, herbs, and an aioli. The rice has a great taste, but contained less than one literal ounce of pork belly. No, really, I dug through the rice trying to find it. The rice was 28$, the pork belly was largely replaced with what appeared to be a small amount of sweet pork sausage(not advertised). Again, tasted good, but had MAYBE 10 grams of protein total in the whole dish. I'm all for paying for a premium dish, but $28 for rice with no protein? A joke. The dumplings were decent and seemed hand rolled, though a tad overcooked. The steam buns were the best thing we ordered. read more

Had my birthday dinner here with the whole family and we were all absolutely blown away by the fabulous food! We ordered a bunch of small dishes and not one was less than spectacular. Our first trip there was amazing. The service and food was outstanding so we decided to go a second time. The food again was very good, but the service was terrible. The waitress asked us if we would like to put our appetizer in and main dish order in at the same time which we did. Big mistake. But the main course almost never came out. She must've forgot to put it into the kitchen, so we waited and waited and waited. The waitress knew she must've forgot because she ignored us for close to an hour. A great place we stumbled into on a busy Saturday night. I cannot say I'd expect great Asian fusion type food in Plymouth MA, but I was pleasantly surprised at how great everything was. Drinks were well made and had a nice presentation. We ordered a Seoul Sister and an Emerald City, both were very unique and had us feeling good. Fried pork and leek dumplings were great as an appetizer. The soy glaze it was served with was a bit too sweet for my liking but the dumplings had such a great and satisfying outer crunch to them. The Dan Dan noodles and beef ramen were also very good, but I wish they had a bit more of a kick to them. Both were still very flavorful and portion size was generous. DAMN! This place was a pleasant surprise. We were heading to Plymouth Memorial Hall for a show and decided to book an early dinner reservation. Not only was the location close by and an easy walk to the venue the food and service was AMAZING! We were greeted and seat immediately upon arrival at 6:00 on Friday night. We go out to eat a lot and out waitress Katherine S was one of the best we have had in a while. She was very friendly and seemed genuinely happy to be there. She was excited about things on the menu giving us her recommendations and telling us how good some things were after she gave us the specials. she checked in regularly and made sure we had a great experience. SERVICE On to the food! As you can see by the pictures we ordered off the raw menu & got a bunch of small plates. The oysters were firm with a combo of salty and sweet! Yes please, could have eaten 20 of them. We had recently tried Ceviche in Miami at a Peruvian restaurant and have been looking to try it locally. The Halibut Ceviche was on point. A light, zingy fish dish of halibut lightly marinated in lime juice with chilli for heat and avocado & red onion to balance the flavors. Served with a few crackers. STAR OF THE SHOW: Who would have ever thought that a Kale Caesar salad would be a ? Not me, but the Baby kale, brioche crouton crumble, Caesar dressing, parmesan cheese worked like no other kale salad I have ever had. We couldn't get enough and every leaf was gone from the bowl when we were done! Fried Cauliflower. This was the only dud that kept the final star from being provided. It LOOKED unbelievable and the batter was great, but the pieces were just too big. Give me smaller pieces and less stem and this is a 5 Star review (it really is a 4 1/2, but it won't let me give that). Fish tacos were put together with care and attention to detail. The fish was cooked perfect and all other details were carefully executed (shredded cabbage, pickled red onion, avocado mousse, salsa verde, jalapeño, cilantro). We loved it. Had reservations for 5:30 we were a little early but were promptly seated. Our server Sophia was amazing. We each out often and she is the best of the best! Hubby had the pork belly fried rice. You would think how much can you elevate fried rice. The answer is a whole lot! He also had the tempura shrimp which he said was outstanding! But had the noodles with truffle. It took about 15 minutes for our reserved table to be ready. Our server Katherine was a breath of fresh air - quickly problem solving for a minor issue. The only thing that bothered me was their two kitchens' inability to coordinate food coming out - hubby got his cooked first course (I insisted he eat), and was finished long before mine came out - 20 minutes later (yes, I made note of the time). Salt is owned by the folks who have Leena's. An eclectic menu of mainly seafood related dishes. The fried rice with shrimp and blue crab was fluffy and delicious. The best I've ever had. My husband and I went last night to celebrate a special occasion. Reservation was for 7:30. We arrived at about 7:12 pm and were greeted by a group of three men in the outside area who were enjoying cocktails, one was wrapped in a blanket and was talking about "farting" in to his friend's "open mouth". I get it, I grew up in Mystic, CT. They're local and they want everyone to know that they belong here. We went inside and the hostess was very sweet. We were told that our table wasn't ready, which was fine. It was very crowded, understandable for a Saturday night. There wasn't any room at the bar so we went to the lobby where there were two chairs. As soon as we sat down a waiter approached and apologized and told us he needed to take the chairs. So we stood and waited for our table. At that point, we considered leaving and going to a restaurant that we'd frequented before which was a favorite of ours. We stayed. We were seated at a nice table on the outside patio area. The environment was nice. The waitress was very sweet. We were feeling a little bit ambivalent at that point in time so we decided to split appetizers and an entrée just in case. Ordered crab rangoons, duck bun, and the miso noodles with chicken. The rangoons were tasty, however there were two sharp pieces of bone in the duck bun, I believe they were rib bones. The meat was kind of a "pulled pork" style meat, kind of mushy, so it was carelessness by whoever prepared it. It was also kind of heavy on the five spice. We mentioned it to the waitress. She seemed concerned and apologized. However, that was it. We weren't comped for the appetizer, we didn't complain. The rangoons were tasty, kind of average. We waited a good 15 minutes for the noodles after finishing apps and they were absolutely delicious. Very, very rich, though. I wish there was something that kind of cut the intensity of the richness to balance out the meal. It left us not wanting dessert. My husband had wanted to try this place for years and I'm glad he got it out of his system. I don't want to go back. This is one of those places that has a steady stream of loyal customers in a great location in a great town and doesn't have to worry about pandering to new customers, and it shows.
